I don't know if this is good or bad.
Renewing now for five and six implies there will not be a seven. They might get very lazy.
There will be no need for new characters in season six.
New characters in season five could be radical and experimental (AS i HOPE) with new types of songs and plots, but could easily be pale replacements for departing actors.
I also don't think I'll like how it ends after season six.
Rachel will have affairs with Omar Sharif and Sonny Corleone but go back to Finn (still not married.)
Adam will be rich and Royal and put Kurt on Broadway.
Artie will direct Puck's screenplay and win many Oscars.
Quinn will get a better boyfriend.
Will will marry Emma privately and they'll help other people.
Santana will become the lover of both Cassandra and Shelby and they'll start lobbying for polygamy for bisexuals.
Burt will survive another health crisis and start running for President, against Sue.
Marley will dump Jake for Ryder. Another boy will steal her away while both are disqualified, but he'll do something wrong and she'll go back to Jake.
Sugar will learn to sing.
Finn will be hired as a teacher at McKinley with only 12 college credits. It'll be a subject he knows nothing about.
The show was great in season one because everyone was fighting for their lives.
Season two was hectic, but at least every character was put to good use.
Since then things have been boring and/or predictable.
I'm almost tempted to stop watching now. I'm content with most of the characters as they are.
My last request: when they do a musical the next two years, devote a whole episode to recreating the story. You can't go wrong.
