I'm afraid for Cry. I absolutely love that song, it's one of my favorites by Kelly and I just .. can't imagine Lea giving it that level of power.

DOT FOR ALL THE AWARDS.
Seriously. She knocked it out of the park with that acting, I cried through Shake it Off. The subtleness of her acting, even in the tiniest facial movement, was incredible. Although I'm not exactly the biggest fan of the randomness of how the domestic violence thing came about, I think Dot and Jane really killed it for me. Made me happy to see our adult female cast being used again. Also, Jenna, please sing always. Jenna+Naya+Amber killed me with those vocals. I forgot how pure sounding Jenna's voice was, think I need to re-listen to True Colors to remember The rest of the episode was alright. Everyone who is anyone knows what I'm going to say next: Where was Quinn? Not even in the background. EDIT: Oh wait, found Quinn in the promo. Great. That's all I'm going to say. __________________

Two dazzling numbers - "Not the Boy Next Door" and "Shake It Out". The episode was anything but seamless. Rachel's intro was enjoyable and Michele, as is typical when her scenes are not burdened by the dull albatross of Monteith, shined throughout. Monteith, as expected, was not up to to the scenes where Finn is required to show the depth of his love to Rachel.
Salling was fine in his scenes but was served far better by "School's Out" instead of the group number. The latter is just a reminder how lacking in charisma several of the men are. Bieste's plotline was sad but seemed shoehorned in. I hope it is not a one and done discussion (which it may not be considering she is still with him). |
