So will gets it from Figgins and Sue, gets angry with Rachel, Quinn/Santana/Britt join the Glee club, etc etc etc blah blah blah. Then, we get to one of the most important Finn and Rachel moments of the episode- the stage kiss (and the nod to Lea’s SA past). So Finn and Rachel get around to that private practice session. In a very Finn-like fashion, he wants to take a break because singing makes him hungry. And in a very Rachel-like fashion, she’s prepared for that with a picnic, complete with pillows and virgin cosmos.

Rachel reveals that the practice was Finn’s idea…and he tells her it’s because he wants to be good like her. It’s the first time we kind of see the awe Finn has for Rachel, and I think it’s the first time anyone has ever been genuinely complimentary towards Rachel. And this isn’t any person. It’s Finn. The boy Rachel is CRAZY for. And he wants to be better. Like her. For her.
