I was only a LP shipper, BL just never did anything for me. And I don't think it's true that the only reason they broke up was because of Chad/Sophia, a lot of rumors get spread around in fandom, I take most of them with a grain of salt. Unless the writers actually say it, it's all speculation.

It's awkward when actors date in real life though, it kind of makes you wonder if the couple is happening because of the actors or if the show would go in that direction regardless.

With Damon and Elena, I believe a lot of people, myself included, wanted them to be together so maybe the writers were trying to make those people happy. IDK though. That's just speculation.

But then again, the CW does love its triangles.

I don't watch TVD so I don't know anything about that. It's just a general observation.

Teen shows in general seem to center on triangles, think that all started with BH 90120. It must work though since it draws in fans, as much as we all seem to hate them.

I guess I was just giving an example of a couple from a show I watch because I never watched OTH.

And yeah, they definitely do. It was probably the Brenda-Dylan-Kelly triangle

Looking back I liked Brenda & Dylan more than Dylan & Kelly. TBH, I think the Dylan & Kelly thing was too predictable.

But there's a different thread for that.

And it's not even the shows. Almost every damn YA series has a love triangle.

True but there are passionate shippers on both sides of most triangles. So it's like you can't eradicate one side of it without angering a lot of people.
