The show has a very 90s feel to it. I'm not sure if I'd be as into it if I hadn't grown up with it. It can be really soapy at times. And they don't talk like anyone I've ever met. I do love it though despite its flaws.
Sadly, there aren't a lot of DJo arts/gifs online, but I have found a few... do you remember the time we made love in the roses? and you took my picture in all sorts of poses how could i ever get over you? i’d give my life for yours. [x] This scene. __________________

I use big words but they take it to another level.
No problem. A friend made it for me a long time ago. __________________

Yes they did. I remember reading an article that the show was surprised by a huge part of the viewing audience was outside of their targeted teen demo. There was a huge 25+ year olds watching the show, and thought the clearly adult language of these "High Schoolers" was part of the reason. __________________

I feel like there's a ton of 20 year olds and older watch a lot of these "teen" shows.

I'm sure the language had something to do with it. And it was on the WB which drew all sorts of folks. Teen shows had more maturity to them in the 90s. Even though the teenagers were immature, they acted more like 20 something year olds than 15 year olds.

Even OTH which came out in the 2000s the teens acted more mature for the most part.

True. It depended on the character and the storyline.

ugh i love these two so much. They always had to mess with their writing, but in the end they always found their way back.

^ And always would, imo.
That seems like a good time to stop, April. I LOVE the first two seasons but the show kind of lost its way in s3, imo. I liked aspects of s4 and s5 though. Mostly for DJo with all their longing and angst. __________________

I just remember not being able to really get into it or really caring what happens.
