That's just like on Hart of Dixie George and Zoey was never given a fair chance.

Pacey was actually threatened by DJo's history. I just remembered what Pacey said to Joey in 3x19: Quote:
Poor Dawson called Pacey "pure loyalty" in 3x18 I think the writers didn't really know what to do with DJo once they officially got together, so they kept postponing their final reunion up until the series finale, but then things got changed at the last minute. I kind of understand where the DC writers were coming from with DJo. I think it is kind of hard to keep a couple together for a long period of time and keep things interesting. I love that picspam from 6x02 I don't understand how DJo were like brother and sister, as I've seen some people say. DJo were never totally platonic. There was always something more there. |

^ Pacey was always jealous/insecure about DJo and he had every reason to be. Joey ran to Dawson time and time again...that had to put a strain on their relationship as we saw in s4.
In the s2 commentary, one of the writers said they broke them up to keep that "will they, won't they" vibe going. It wasn't because DJo didn't work together, it was because the writers wanted to keep that suspense. I understand why they did that in s2 but I didn't understand the point of it in s6. Especially since they didn't let DJo be together as a couple in the end. __________________

I'm not sure why DJo were written the way they were in S6. I heard that JVDB asked for less screentime. I also heard that the WB wanted to promote Oliver Hudson.
I wonder how much the network influenced the direction of the show and the ultimate ending. I listened to the season 4 DVD commentaries a while ago and I think it was the network that pushed for PJo to have sex. I think the writers original idea was that PJo don't have sex because Joey realizes that she wants her first time to be with Dawson and that was supposed to lead to PJo's break up. But the network wanted something big to happen. |

^ I don't know either since both sides of the fandom don't like Eddie. I never cared that much, I just didn't like how DJo got the short end of the stick...again.
Really? I've never heard that before but it makes sense given how most of that episode was written. They seemed like they were about to breakup then the sex happened. And she didn't seem happy about it afterwards. Obviously the writers were always going towards DJo...Coda was supposed to be the series finale and it was a DJo episode all the way. That happened a lot with DJo, they were going to end up together but the writers literally changed their minds at the last minute. Sigh. Oh well. __________________

I actually liked Joey and Eddie but that's not for this thread.
I will always love these two. They were the reason I watched. __________________

I liked other aspects of the show but DJo were a big part of what I loved about DC.

I don't know, they had a great storyline in s1 and they had some good stuff in s2, s4, and s5. So we didn't always suffer from the bad writing, we just suffered from the writers being unwilling to give DJo a chance to be together for longer than a few episodes.

I will always love this video and song for them. We never got a chance. They kept DJ back and forthy. It isn't fair!
I always loved Joey when she was with Dawson. DJ will always be the heart of the show I don't care what anyone says, they are the ones who never got a fair shot. __________________
