I ship what I want to ship and try to steer clear of fandom these days.

I think I need a break from the Dawson's Creek forum I don't really see what makes Pacey so much better than Dawson and Eddie.

^ People have hero-worshipped Pacey since I started posting on FF and I'm sure they did it long before that. He was as flawed as the rest of the characters. Sadly, I think most people only see Dawson the way he was in s3 when that was the only time he acted that way. And it was out of character but that's another discussion entirely. I can't really comment on Eddie since I never watched all of s6...the writers lost me at the beginning of that season.

Granted I never made it past s2 or 3 when I tried to watch the series. So I never got to Pacy and Joey. And I really did love Pacey and Andie. But I still saw Pacey as an immature boy. I wouldn't of put it at more than 15. I can't really ship someone that acts that young and immature.

I don't like how Pacey belittled DJo's history in 3x21. I found the quote:

"Fifteen years of watching PG movies in your bedroom, followed by another year and a half of pretending to be grown up only to drop each other at the first sign of crisis? That's your history? Come on, man. And you call this woman your soulmate?"

If Pacey really considered Dawson his best friend, then why would he say that to him?

Dawson had a right to feel betrayed.

^ Right? Pacey disappointed me a lot in s3. So did Joey. They both knew how much honesty meant to Dawson and they decided to sneak around and lie to him. I think if they had been honest from the beginning, things would've been a lot different. He reacted badly but he's only human. He was hurt by the people he trusted most in the world and that anger blinded him. It happens. He did the right thing in the end though, he let Joey go because he knew he was wrong to try to keep her with him when she needed to explore her feelings for Pacey.

And my theory is that he was jealous in that episode so we can't take what he says seriously.

DJ never had a real chance to work. I do think James is hot and dawson did get hotter as the series progressed.

^ That's my biggest disappointment with the show. I wish the writers had given them a chance to be in a long-term, committed relationship as adults. They were so young in s2 and life/emotions are so confusing at that age. It would've been nice to see how they could be once they settled into life and see how they worked together. But no, they wanted to make us wait for an endgame that didn't happen. If the show was on today, I think the writers would've given them that chance since those types of relationships are more common on television today.
