It was based on Jane Austen's "Emma".
Watched the movie tonight for the first time in years. Still so funny, and uniqe. A high school movie that is fun and original. Cher's debate speech near the beginning of the movie about Haiti, is pretty eerie to today's time and politics. Love the movie. __________________
