Here's the post about the songs Prince wrote for others:

Quote:
HERE'S WHAT YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW .... about Prince. He was a prolific song writer, and secretly wrote songs for people you'd never guess were his friends, like country star Kenny Rogers. Prince wrote the country song, "You're My Love" for Rogers 1986 album, "They Don't Make Them Like They Used To." On the writing credits, he used the pseudonym Joey Coco. He also used fake names to write songs for Paula Abdul, Sheena Easton and The Bangle
And in August somewhere near me 98 degrees, O Town and Ryan Cabrera, and Dream will be in concert.

i think its great that his song writing transcended many genres and many different spans of time.

sounds like it will be a fun concert with them together

If only you could throw BSB and Nysnc in there it would be perfect.

I would be going for 98 degrees. The others I really only know one maybe 2 songs from each of them.

I'd say the same I only know two from each. I read the next day in the news about this concert so it was eye catching enough to make news

I think this thread should include music videos from the 90s, what do you think?

We actually have a thread for that. Hasn't been active in a while. The idea behind it was for a music video to be posted once a day, anything one that the poster wants. Like a jukebox.

I love that picture
I'm very much into my old skool stuff especially in R+B and Hip Hop (old skool) - some of the new stuff is rubbish

Yes! I think majority of music after 2008-2009 is crap. I love rock music was the early to mid 2000s.

Although my music taste is primarily R+B, HipHop and Motown, I do love some rock and metal especially from the 80s and 90s. Hate pop boybands, pop girlbands, bubblegum pop, watered down R+B and HipHop of the modern era. I find novelty songs highly amusing though

For me, the 90's was mainly about smooth jazz, Michael Bolton, Johnny Hates Jazz, Living in a Box, Kip Winger and Marc Almond. That was all I mainly listened to during that time. After a lot of my favorite metal bands broke up, I wasn't sure what to listen to. I understood why there was a grunge movement, but didn't like most of it at the time (the only new grunge/metal band I got into during that time was Alice in Chains). I was in college and was more focused on what my career would be. Music wasn't as much of a passion as it is now. I rarely, if ever listen to anything new, unless it's from a smooth jazz artist. A lot of the pop music now, I can't listen to. To some, it's good enough and that is fine. For me, I need a lot more and a majority of the music today doesn't give me that. There are very few exceptions (Adele comes to mind. She is a good singer. Loved her "Bond theme" song "Skyfall".), but for the most part, I'm grateful for the music in the 80's and 90's especially.
