EPISODE DESCRIPTION:Ben's (guest star David Call) mother (guest star Marsha Dietlein Bennett) comes to town, forcing issues to the surface between Ben and Serena (Blake Lively). Russell Thorpe (guest star Michael Boatman) is determined to destroy Chuck's (Ed Westwick) family legacy, but he risks alienating his daughter, Raina (guest star Tika Sumpter), in the process. Billy Baldwin returns as William van der Woodsen, Lily's ex-husband and Serena and Eric's father. Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Jessica Szohr and Matthew Settle also star. David Warren directed the episode written by Robby Hull.

Gossip Girl 4x17

What that supposed to be a dramatic ending or something? One kiss. She pulls him in. End. Oh, shocker.

Clever, GG.

I don’t like BD. I think this not-friends thing is forced. And not just in the way that they’re denying feelings. In the writing. So ****ing stupid and annoying.

I like that it came out about the Captain’s beating.

I like that Vanessa’s interacting with Lily and Serena. I’m glad Lily listened to her.

I’m glad for Nate/Raina. They’re the only couple I can root for. I’m glad CN didn’t really fight. He was pissed, but then they didn’t break up or anything. Thank god.

I hope this means Ben is GONE. Please?

I’m so bored. And did Serena just have a “maybe in the future” convo with him? HILARIOUS. She says that to all guys.

LC and CS got lots of screen time. ♥ I love LC. I’m glad Lily decided to turn herself in. Because she got her daughter proud of her. Lily’s growing.

What did I hate? Oh, you know, the usual. THEY **** UP BART BASS. Always ****ting on his memory. WHY do the writers hate him? Why, every ****ing season, must they destroy his character? What, Bart PURPOSEFULLY had Thorpe’s wife killed? WTF did that even MEAN? More bull**** story to me.

And, Chuck said he was in a good place when his father died. And now Chuck is doubting everything. And I HATE it.

So..WHY was Chuck looking for Blair? I know it’s because Blair can identify with lying parents? That’s what I’m going with for the next month and a half.

And let me tell you – I am SO happy for this hiatus. My life can calm down.

I thought she would tell about what she saw not heard

The Chuck story doesn't make sense,he was in a good place?He didn't want to be by his father side when he was dying,how Bart could come clean?¡

Dan was Ben replacement,she hook up with Dan back in season 1 because Dan remain her of Ben ,the way their stories paralleled is very telling.

N/R still make no sense to me and the kiss was so passion less,maybe the most passion less of all Nate kisses and that's saying much.

CR was weird but NR is just bland.

DB are cute and everything but I still feel like i'm seeing an AU version of them.

ughh the promo,they will make V pathetically jealous again

I'm okay if they want to turn her bad but why they can't find another reason¡

Chuck couldn't be at his death bed wasn't that there was bad blood there. It was that he couldn't handle that his father was dying. But every ****ing season they're throwing more **** out there like Bart's lying about every word out of his mouth. And i'm ****ING PISSED!

Oh man, I would feel bad for DS fans expect, you know, I don't like DS. But WOW. Maybe they can have a taste of what NSers feel like after claiming Dan was her first love and that S ran away because of Pete. Now Serena sensed BEN when she found Dan. That was her latch.

Jackie I meant that Chuck wasn't in a good place when his father died and that it doesn't make sense that he is so outraged about the revelation(Bart had his dark side) and his father not telling him, if I remember well they weren't in good terms when he died,the last thing he said to him was that he always disappointed him after letting Erick know about the private detective archives he kept and he didn't talk to him when he was dying,so Bart couldn't come clean about all the lies and mysteries in their lives.

I think he was talking more about 2x10 than the rest of the Lily crap.

I think none of it makes sense, though. Why should anything shock Chuck. And I still don't get what happened with Thorpe's wife. I doubt Bart PURPOSEFULLY did that. That makes no sense.

around 1:40 they start to talk about the big secret that it will be revealed in this episode and how it was planned for years to come out.

Now we know is the secret about Bart.
