I hate how the show missed the opportunity of a storyline about her activism and his political endeavors. The writers were so lost about what to do with the characters after high school and they choose the most laughable storylines. The pairings were never really the problem but what they made them do. RewatchingI made me feel bad for all the cast.

After the writers' strike in S1, there was a difference.
Also, i think Schwartz might have left or was not as involved after S2 or something and Safran came in. Savage and Safran didn't have a clue. __________________

Yeah, I've heard that too. I didn't really follow who was in charge when, but that's what I've heard. I just know that Savage and Safran really ruined the show.
