James "Jimmy" Palmer is the current Chief Medical Examiner of the NCIS office. He first joined Ducky as Gerard's temporary replacement after the happenings of Bete Noire in season 1. However, he and Ducky "clicked", thus, he became Ducky's full-time assistant.

Not much about his upbringing is known: only tidbits here and there. He spent a summer working for his uncle, who is a veterinary. He also spent an exchange semester in Paris, France as an undergrad student. In the episode Bears and Cubs (16x) talks about not having an ideal family while growing up. He considers Ducky and Gibbs to be his father figures.

He is married to Breena, who he met online back in season 5 (?). Their marriage happened at the end of season 9. Few years later they became parents to Victoria. Palmer considers Ducky to be a honorary grandfather for his child: Victoria's Grand-Ducky.

The most important milestones of his life happened while being employed at NCIS:
From a university student he became a doctor. From an apprentice to a master. From Tony's "Autopsy gremlin" he became everybody's Jimmy.

He is a lovable guy with a not-always-appreciated black humor. His favourite holiday is probably Halloween. He's a man full of stories and bad jokes.

Brian Dietzen was born in November 14, 1977 in Barrington, Illinois, however he spent most of his childhood in Colorado, USA.

He was always interested in acting: he has a BA degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Colorado.

He is a talented singer and dancer. He was part of The Colorado Shakespeare Festival for 2 years. He performed in plays suchs as Equus and Waiting for Godot before becoming a series regular in NCIS.

Before NCIS he was part of the cast of My guide to becoming a rockstar and also acted alongside Kelly Clarkson in the movie: From Justin to Kelly.

About his personal life: he is married to Kelly Scoby since 2004 and have 2 children together. They are living in (or around) L.A.

Brian loves to watch NCIS live when it airs, he usually has some fun commentary about the episodes on Twitter. "You know, the guy who plays Jimmy Palmer on NCIS. Yeah, that's me. (Also, I'm a husband, a dad and a Cubs fan)"
