I thought this was a great episode. Learned more about Ziva which was great.
I can't remember if they did actually have this as a case or mention it way back in an earlier episode? Ziva had so many journals she kept. I loved how Bishop was so motivated to find the mom and wanted to read the letter to her kidnapper. Her and Gibbs butting heads over her involvement was annoying even though I did agree with Gibbs but also agreed with Bishop I am glad Bishop continued with her investigation though. Felt so bad for the little girl, but was amazing how her mom orchestrated her escape! So glad Bishop was there and saved her in the end. Gibbs burned Rule #10! And lastly... finally have confirmationabout whether or not Ziva is alive Love how they played it out! __________________

I haven't watched but from what I've heard, I really need to. This may be the first episode I watch since Zivas death in season 11... Was it??

Wow...
We sorta of knew it already, didn't we? LOL. But to put it out there blantantly like that and to drop the bomb must mean they plan to address it at some time in the future... Technically they only opened the door so it could be awhile before they address it again. I guess it makes sense Bishop is the one with the secret now since she always was the one who had to prove she measured up (a meta commentary on fan reception initially to Bishop). So she's hiding out to protect Tony and especially Tali? Makes sense. Her "death" sent Tali to someone who she knew would immediately protect her, and now she still has to hide to protect them! Leaves open for Cote to come back to finish it off. Or for a series finale to put it to bed, and maybe get Tony and Ziva back last time! Hmmm... You can tell Ziva's loss and the curse of that desk really plays on Gibbs. Even all these years later. He still reels. __________________

It was nice they addressed that Ziva was still alive. I have thought that she was since she "died".
I have to wonder though if Gibbs may also know she is alive even though it doesn't seem like it with his reaction in the bullpen. THe only reason I say this is because as much of a ninja Ziva is, I am sure Gibbs would know someone was in his house... cause when else would Ziva have been able to rip that page out of her journal? It would nice though if he didn't know something for a change. __________________

It always gets misty when they reference Ziva. And I liked they drew on Ellie's fear of never measuring up. And how Gibbs sees that desk as cursed. And in some ways it is. So, I am curious where they go with this...

My thing is always, no body, not dead. And it was proven in Ziva's case!

And that is why no viewer truly gave up hope that Ziva was in fact alive. Given her family baggage. And she was being hunted at the time, it would make perfect sense. Fake her death. Her daughter would be found and Tali would be taken to the States to Tony. Tony would protect Tali. And then she would she could protect them.
So the hope was there, but as time went on it was easy just to think of her as dead since they didn't really play with that time. With Tony gone. Yeah, usually the standard is... if no body. Even in soap opera's when there is a body. You might have a miraculous return. But it's intriguing, why give the twist to the episode when they didn't really have to unless they do have some kind of plan in the future. And maybe Gibbs suspects and that is why he gave the book to Ellie. A really good episode! __________________

think it was a good episode as well.
felt bad for the girl, but she played it really well. thought ziva was alive. yes, because there was no body. but it felt weird to hear something after all this time, like she was a stranger who we never met. don't know about the actor's contracts, but maybe the show is going to end after this or the next season and they are beginning to prepare for it. |

I think if it was ending this season we would have heard so they could do a final season push, try to goose ratings as they wind down ie: BBTheory. So, it is possible next season. We haven't heard whether it's renewed or not, and usually by now we have... So, if so, they might be starting their endgame.
McGee is starting to wonder if staying at NCIS is for him. Ducky is barely around. Gibbs is eventually going to stop. So maybe this is the start of the build toward a possible endgame. Hmmm.. __________________
