I doubt the name is a coincidence, either. Ellie is close to Kelly. There's no way he hasn't had those thoughts, imo. Have to wonder if sometimes he looks at Ellie and thinks about what Kelly could have become.

Considering how far back they planned for Bishop's divorce, it doesn't sound as far-fetched for me to play with the names...

Giving a character a storyline though to me is different than playing around with names to see if they rhyme. But I have no idea what they put into naming each of the characters. If they have planned for Bishop to be like Kelly in Gibbs' mind then maybe they did go that step further to make her nickname rhyme with Kelly but I still think that's a bit of a stretch. Why not her full name or her last name? I guess that may have made it more obvious though. It just seems to me to be reading too far into things but when it comes to something like that we'll probably never know. To me I'd sooner see it as a coincidence that maybe they did notice & it made them more sure on the name than they planned it out that way

He does for whatever reason. I do believe it must be more than just changing things up because Ziva left. That's a lame reason. Then if he does get reminded of his daughter from her I doubt he'd admit that to anyone, let alone her

It wouldn't really be playing with it if they decided on wanting that connection before naming the character though, and it being anything more than a nickname would definitely have been way too obvious. It being a nickname makes it more likely that it was planned, imo. It's something that shows do all the time.

He'd never admit it, and really, he can't. I couldn't imagine her being too happy if she felt he was over cautious with her because of his daughter.

I agree Especially with knowing how long they searched for/worked on the right person/character to join the team... I know that they have interviewed many actresses, and I'd assume that the same process happened with the scripts as well... They were written & re-written...


No, Gibbs would never admit to it! Nor Bishop would bring it up... But she still knows that she can get away with more than the other team members
