Wow that letter is really sweet & polite. Especially if there's been a lot of hate being thrown around & directed at them. Hopefully that letter reaches a lot of fans, & makes us all realise that we have to accept things & look forward to what they have in store for us next season

Caras: Daniela, I know you’re engaged. Was the proposal exciting?
Daniela: It was exciting, no doubt

C: How long have you been engaged?
D: Since the end of 2012

C: Did you accept right away?
D: Yes!

C: And you got an engagement ring…
D: I got one, of course.. designed by David himself, and
it’s perfect to me. I love my engagement ring!

C: When you wake up in the morning you can’t stop looking
at the ring on your finger?
D: I am too pragmatic for that, but the knowledge I am so lucky
to have found a person with whom I want to share
everything is always present.

C: You have a date yet?
D: Yes, it will be in 2014, in Portugal

C: Did you both choose Portugal?
D: Yes, we did. Happily my grandparents are still alive, and we
both wanted for them to be a part of the day of our wedding, that’s
why it was an easy decision to make. Besides, we’d like to promote
Portugal to our friends and family from the US, and we find that this
is the perfect opportunity for them to visit Portugal.

C: Did your fiancée visit Portugal many times?
D: He really likes Portugal. He’s a very active person, he likes to
surf in our beaches, jogging on the sand, playing football.. I think
he manages very good on his own.

C: After the wedding, are you still planning to live in Los Angeles?
D: Yes, it’s where we live and work.

C: How did you get used to live with an 8 hours time difference from
your parents?
D: We have our ritual: we talk daily. Here I found stability, both in life
and in a relationship, and that makes it easier.

C: NCIS changed your life, both in a personal and professional level.
How was it to meet your future husband
while developing your international career?
D: It had to do with the right time and the right place. I met a person
with values and a personality I adore, who had a childhood similar
to mine, who’s parents make me remember mine in many aspects.
Add to that a career that starts to stabilizes and you have the perfect situation.

C: When you started your relationship, did you have in
mind David’s younger brother, actor Eric Olsen, your colleague in NCIS?
D: We thought of everyone around us.

C: How did you live with the constant rumors
about a romance between you (Daniela) and Eric?
D: Rumors come and go, that’s the way it’s always been, and
always will be. We never gave them much thought.

C: How long have you been dating?
D: Three years.

C: You’ve always said that one of your dreams is to be a mother.
Can you imagine having a family in the US?
D: Right now, David and I think that we’re gonna educate our
children here in the US, because it’s where we work and where
we want to grow roots. If something happens, then we’ll see.

C: Are you (Daniela and David) living together?
D: yes.

C: Are you living the happiest time of your life?
D: I feel complete and very happy.

C: Coming back to Portugal has less meaning every time?
D: Today I feel lucky to be comfortable in both places, I have my
youth, my family and a home in Portugal and
in the US I built a life with friends, where I am going to have my own family.

C: You were always seen as an ambitious actress. What are
your plans on a professional level?
D: It’s very difficult to make definitive plans.. for now I have a
few more years with NCIS. I did some theater this year, working
there on weekends. When NCIS is over I want to act in movies or
in another TV show. It is important to continue working in good projects.

Interviewer: Do you feel at home here (LA)?
Daniela: Yes, i do now! I’ve been in the US since 2007, in LA since 2009, so yeah,
i have my house, i’m getting married!, i’m gonna raise my family,
so of course i fell at home here.

D: (…) now it’s not just me, i’m getting married, so there’s someone else
who is a priority in my life. I’m gonna have a baby, another priority, so now
the decisions aren’t only about me, now i have to think about other people,
now i put others ahead of me.

I: What does a child change?
D: I don’t know, he hasn’t arrived yet! But i guess he will change everything,
judging by what other people say, our schedules… It’s no longer “Hey, let’s go
to the movies!” just because we are in the mood for it or we want to. No,
now we have to get a babysitter or get the baby’s bag with the diappers,
toys, something to eat, not eating in restauraunts all the time. Things
change, but i don’t know yet.

I: So, you haven’t changed?
D: Emotionally yes! I have this huge passion for something i haven’t even
seen outside the ultra-sound! I feel much more protective, i’ve changed my
eating habits, i eat more biological foods, i pay a lot of attention to all the
chemicals in food. I’m much more careful with myself, because i have to
protect something that can’t protect itself. Now i have another two people
in my life that influence everything i do and i can’t make a decision without
being sure the person i’m with is okay with it. Fortunately, he is totally
adapted to my life and i’m also to his and we always put each other’s happiness first.

I:That’s why you decided to get married?
D: Yes. Well, i also took that step because he asked, right? (laughs)

I: Was it a special proposal?
D: Yes, it was amazing. It was in the 2012/2013 New Year’s Day. It was in
the top of a mountain and we have an amazing picture of that moment, with
mountains covered in snow in the background. It was completely unforgettable.
I think he was confident i was going to say yes, but the fact he made sure
that moment was perfect and unforgettable was… It couldn’t have been better!

I: Does he make you feel special?
D: Of course! Yes, yes, yes, without a doubt, for sure! But in a more private way,
because i think that when we work in the public eye it’s very easy for us to feel
special because of the way people treat us. And many times, just by working on
TV or movies, there’s automatically a different treatment, even if we don’t ask for it.
But being treated in a special way by those we love the most and by those we
want to be treated specially by, is different. He is really discrete so he doesn’t
ask for much attention, in the red carpet he’s like “oh no no, i’ll wait for you by
the end, do what you gotta do and then we leave.” That’s why i don’t feel the
need to share him with the world, he is very discrete. He is a stuntman, so he’s
used to be “hidden”, even when he is in front of the camera, his face is hidden.

I: Do you like his courage?
D: Yes, but it scares me! He was in America’s Navy, but fortunately he left
before i met him. There are certain things he does in the show, less dangerous
, but then there are the other more dangerous ones and me and his brother get
really scared! And their poor mother, because it is either a brother or the other
getting hurt! But there was an explosion in the third season where he was running
out of a building, it exploded totally, and we could only do it once because we
only had one building to blow up. All was good, but we have a big picture, he’s very
shy and never shares much, but i printed a picture where he is running away from
the flames, with this huge explosion behind him and he’s all curled up in
the middle of the air.

I: The wedding will be in Portugal. It’s very important for you to
have your family close, isn’t it?
D: Yes, and my family is much bigger than his so we thought it would be much easier
to take like 10 people from his side than to bring 60 people from my side to the US.
Also, unfortunately his grandparents are no longer alive, mine fortunately still are
and i think it’s a very long flight for them because of their age. So we prefer to
have the wedding there so that they can also take part.
