Just to point out, there are two S&S threads, but this one is for the movie appreciation and the other is a character appreciation.
I do love this movie. It's on TV all the time here and Kate was a superb choice for the role! |
I have seen the film and loved it. I'm reading the book at the moment.
|
I can never get tired of the book!
The way they speak is just so respectable and intelligent. Too bad things are not like that now. |
i love this film!
I went to see it as a kid with my best friend and her mum on a rainy afternoon  and i loved Kate in it :D :sigh: :in_love: |
Melika, I agree. It's too bad that people don't talk like that anymore. Sometimes it's very disrespectful.
|
^^ It really is.
I also don't like how when some Literary companies release the books and have someone edit it. I like the unabridged version, which is the original that Jane Austen wrote it. If it's edited, that means, that the company thought pretty much that we would be too stupid to understand the old English so they change it. I find that insulting. |
I've never seen an edited version of it! ... i'm shocked its such a wonderful story
|
Well because simple words were spelled differently like the word "chance" was spelled "chanse"
So they thought people wouldn't understand it as well with the old spelling of words, so there are edited versions released. |
Some words aren't being used anymore or not very often. Company's automatically think that people won't understand it. And if you don't understand, it's okay. But you can grab a dictionary and look for the meaning of the word. The language that Jane Austen used should preserved.
|
^^ I agree.
That's why when you pick up a Jane Austen book, or any classic for that matter, if it says "Unabridged" you're getting the original as it was meant to be! |
I love both the book and the movie. Kate did such a wonderful job in the movie.
|
It is one of my favorite books and there have been many movie adaptations as well, but this one with Kate is the best!
|
One of my very favorite movies! Love Kate in it.
