It's partly Mildred to blame, as well. She overdid it with spoiling her, if you ask me. I know that she did that in order to make her daughter love her, but she made matters even worse. I think that, if Mildred didn't pay that much attention to Veda, Veda would, at least, pretend she liked her.

Well that's what happened when your spoiling your child from young, as they grown older they don't want to see it Even in real-life that happens Parents would give there life for there kids. And when time reach the kids don't want to see them It's sad sometimes for me to watch.

Some parents think they're bad, or not good enough. And they try to correct that by buying gifts for their child, etc. But, in fact, they're becoming worse parents this way. Of course you should provide your child with all it needs, but don't overdo it.

yeh that's true Laurelle-like by dad bought me something in town but he never does that usually so it was a nice surprise and I appreciated even more-I really don't like it when parents buy absolutely everything for their child-they don't see any disciplinary skills-although Veda wanted everything-she seemed like an exceptionally hard child to cope with (partly for the drama) but im so glad I don't have that kind of relationship with my parents

Watched this over the Christmas Holiday. Good series, albeit slightly long in 5 parts.

Detested the spoiled brat that was Veda, though I do put the blame on Mildred as well. Adhering to Veda's wishes/commands in a strive to be accepted was equal to shooting herself in the foot. Good thing Bert was there, I suppose.

wow can't believe it was nominated 21 Emmys that's amazing-I saw it on DVD in HMV might get it sometime-although prob not my fav Kate thing she has sone but she deserves all the awards for it
