I looked at some screencaps and while they both did the movie, they didn't do any scenes together from what I could see....

No, they didn't. Kate's character died and Marion's was in China or something...
 I do hope they do a new movie together I'd like to see them in something more lighthearted, playing best friends or something __________________

I like the idea of them playing best friends, show off the chemistry they'll hopefully have.

I only saw a few scenes, but I think she played Leo's deceased wife? Kate was supposed to play that part, but she declined, saying that she couldn't imagine herself in that part.

I had no clue Kate was going to play that part! Maybe you mentioned it before and I forgot. Inception is one of my favorite movies. As much as I love Kate, Marion did a wonderful job (and so did everyone else) so I'm very happy with the casting. You're right that she did play Leo's deceased wife and she stole every scene she was in.
