Season 3 Discussion Thread

So, season 3 is officially over now. As sad as we all are that we will have to wait until next fall for some more new 30 Rock, we also had an absolutely fantastic year. We have individual episode discussions for each season 3 episode, but I figured we might like to discuss the season as a whole. To kick off discussion, I thought it might be fun to give some season superlatives. Some that I came up with are:
Best Episode
Best New Guest Star
Best Recurring Guest Star
Best Musical Moment
Best Jack Scene/Storyline
Best Liz Scene/Storyline
Best Tracy Scene/Storyline
Best Jenna Scene/Storyline
Best Kenneth Scene/Storyline
Most Valuable Actor- like Most Valuable Player in sports, the actor who contributed the most to the show's success this year
Unsung Hero- the actor who isn't recognized enough for their fantastic performances

I thought this might just be a fun way to look back at the season as a whole and think about all of the little pieces we'd forgotten about. You don't have to do the superlatives at all, or you don't have to do all of them, or you don't have to do just the ones I've listed here. Again, I figured this might be a fun way to reminisce about great season we've had and to kick off some discussion about the season as a whole.

ETA: We'll probably hold off on the superlatives until the DVDs come out and people can rewatch them. Still, if anyone wants to discuss the season, we can do so here.

Great idea for a thread. I'll have to watch the DVDs for superlatives. My memory is too lousy to remember anything now.

That's true about needing the DVDs. I get them all on iTunes, so I guess I forgot that the DVDs aren't out yet. Well, we can work on that in August or whenever the DVDs come out.

So, as far as we can tell right now, how do you all think season 3 ranks among the other two seasons? I personally think it's not quite as good as season 1, but better than season 2.

I agree. But to be fair to S2, it was affected by the writer's strike.

I definitely need to rewatch this season to be able to judge it and write in the thread. Right now I can't rank the seasons. I love season 1 but season 2 has one of my favourite episodes and season 3 had some great guests on. All seasons rocked.

I think my only problem with S2 might be that it's short.

The DVD is going to be released on Sept. 22, 2009. Ugh, that's seems so far away.

They usually try to release it close to the season premiere. Or that's what it seems like various TPTBs do.

Its like they're trying to remind the fans about the new season when they release the previous season close to the premiere date, like we really need reminding though.

I just started to rewatch 3rd season and I´m lauging all the time. Im at eppy 9 now. When I watched it for the first time I felt that some eppies were worse and I didn´t like them that much but now, rewatching it, I think everything is hilarious.lol I realized how much i had forgot. How could I forget Jenna and Frank hooking up together? lol and ewww.

and the second eppy with Oprah is probably my the most favorite eppy of the season so far and that says a lot since Im not fan of Oprah.lol
