Hmm, not sure how I'd feel about that. Of course, he'd probably have a decent chance. And if you look, Al Franken just got elected to the Senate, so that kind of thing is possible. Still, I'd rather see Alec on 30 Rock forever.

For what state though? I imagine there's a lot of competition in California and New York.

Well, he rules out California. NY or another east coast state probably.

That's true. Well, doesn't he technically live in NY? He'd probably have to run in NY, then, and you're right that there's a lot of competition in NY. Still, there are also more seats in NY.

Maybe Connecticut? A lot of people who work in NYC live there. The richer kind, at least.

Maybe. I seem to remember hearing somewhere that he lived in NYC, though. Hmm, I don't know. He'd have a lot of stuff that he'd have to work out if he was going to run in 2012. I think he'd do better to wait until 2014 or 2018, after he's sure that 30 Rock is over, and after he's had a little time to work some stuff out.

I think you've given it more thought than he has. I love Alec but he does he speak before he thinks a lot.

If he's serious, though, I would hope I haven't thought about this more than him. I'm a politics nut, so I love thinking about these kinds of things. Alec does like to speak before he thinks, so this might just be another one of those cases. I kind of hope so because I'd hate to lose Alec to politics after his 30 Rock contract expires.

If he find something even half as good as 30 Rock, I want him to stick to acting.

He seems a tad unstable for a government job.

We've got enough people in government who are slightly unstable. As much as I love Alec, I don't think he'd be a valuable addition to Congress.
