Just the latest. Didn't have any real plans until this past weekend so it gave me a lot of time to catch up on some stuff.

I sent my laptop in for repairs (hopefully for the last time) about a month ago. I was using an old laptop I had for a couple of weeks, it was slow but at least working. Then last week it suddenly stopped working so now I'm basically just posting from my phone (and work) waiting for their call that it's done

It did, thanks. I finally got the call about a week after that. A month without it was torture So far so good.

Things have been pretty good. Been trying to get things done early in regards to the holidays instead of the last minute this year. So far I'm actually doing a good job.

That's good! It must be more relaxing to know you're already done with the things you need to do.

Things are fine for me, have fallen into a kind of routine which is both good and bad I guess. Pretty much work all week, some TV and surfing at night during weekdays. And then going out on weekends and just catching up on shows and movies. I have been trying to get into reading more lately so hopefully that sticks.

Also hoping to be able to get a good vacation before the end of the year, could really use the time off. Do you get any extended vacations over the holidays?

Right after Christmas is going to be the start of a nice stretch off of work for me so I'm looking forward to that.

Are you reading anything good right now? I feel like every year my go to New Year's resolution is to read more and initially I do well for the first couple of weeks and then end up rarely reading throughout the year.

That sounds great! How long is it going to be for?

I'm reading Pursuit of Happiness by Doughlas Kennedy, it is a compelling story, I'm enjoying it. And I definitely get how that goes. The only reason I was able to actually start the book was because my laptop was in repairs but I took that chance to try and read at least over the weekends.

It's going to be for 9 days. I also just got approved for time off at the end of January so I'm going on an actual vacation then.

Ray, did you hear that they've officially green lit the sequel to TATBILB? I'm so excited And yes it's based on a book series. There are three books so there's lots of material for them to work with . They do differ a bit from the movie though. The whole hot tub video did get leaked and everything but it didn't come out until the second book. I also really hated Peter's relationship with Gen in the books and thought they handled it better in the movie so I hope they continue down that route.

That's great! It must be good to be able to relax and actually have other plans with those days off. And the vacation time sounds like it'll be a lot of fun too!

My days off worked out too, I took about 10 days, last work day was on Friday and it'll stretch until after New Year's. Let's just say I am quite enjoying the fact that I don't need to get up super early every morning

Rach, no I didn't but that's great! And also not too surprisingly with the hit the first one was. That's good about them handling some things better in the movie and looking forward to seeing what they'll have in store in the next one!

You guys are lucky . I ended up getting 3 extra days off for the holidays. The 25th and 26th of December are stat holidays so everyone gets them as well as Jan 1st for New Year's Day. I also got Dec 24th and Jan 2nd and 3rd off...so not quite as long as you guys but still pretty good

Officially I only took 5 days. We don't get the 26th officially, only the 25th and 1st, so with the weekends being 4 days and me taking Mondays and the days between Christmas and New Year's off, it worked out. Considering I rarely ever take my vacation days, it was very lucky, I didn't think I'll be able to

Why do you rarely ever take your vacation days? Do you get paid for them instead?

I don't have any particular plans except for the usual stuff with family. I went to the movies with a friend for a double feature on the 26th and I'll probably do another double feature with another friend when I'm off this Wednesday. I think I'll probably try catching up on my shows, particularly The Resident.
