Erica Durance, (born June 21, 1978 in Calgary, Alberta) is a Canadian actress. She is best known for her role as Lois Lane on Smallville.
Born in Calgary, she was raised in Three Hills, Alberta.

After graduating from high school, Durance moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, to pursue her interest in acting professionally.
"I wanted to get my feet wet in a smaller area than Los Angeles when I gave it a try", Durance has said.

She continued to study acting, starting out with background work, graduating to commercials, and then guest-starring roles, landing more substantial roles each time.

Durance was a frequent guest star for the fourth season (2004-05) of Smallville.
She joined the regular cast for the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eight season.

On August 26, 2008, Durance was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini-Series, according to the Canadian Press.

Durance was married to Canadian actor David Palfy on January 8, 2005. They reside in Vancouver.

She is
Sexy, and sassy, and smart as can be,
She’s a sweetheart, a siren and all I need to see.
She’s adorable, and graceful, and hot to boot,
For god’s sakes Maxim, give us another photoshoot!
She’s funny, and charming, and even makes whale calls,
She has great hair, a gorgeous smile, and is actually quite tall.

She played Julie Miller in the Butterfly Effect 2,
Her life kept changing as her boyfriend tried to make her dreams come true.
In I Me Wed, she played Isabelle,
She thought marrying herself was swell.
In Final Verdict, she played the DA.
Megan Washington wouldn’t let the bad guy get away.

But her most important role to date has been on a WB/CW show,
It’s given her the chance to improve and grow.
On Smallville she landed the role of Lois Lane,
Her understanding of the character is so good it’s insane.
She loves her character and makes us love her too,
She puts great thought into the part to do the best she can do.

Her jokes make us laugh, her tears make us cry,
We all want her to end up with the right guy.
She wants the relationship of Lois and Clark to be handled with delicacy and care,
She knows how much it means to their fans who’ve stuck with them for years.
In her interviews she’ll rave about this dynamic team,
The way she talks about them makes us beam.

She’ll go out of her way for her fans to give them news,
She deserves twenty two episodes next year, she’s paid her dues.
At conventions and in her videos, she’s as sweet as can be,
She’s warm, and down to earth and just plain friendly.
Her favourite superhero is even Superman, she’s such a fangirl,
It’s easy to see why this woman rocks our world.
