Clark is Lois's hero. Lois is Clark's hero. I loved how the day after she totally brushes off Clark's comment about saving him, saying that he was the hero.
And she just wants to be friends with RBB more than write his story. She knows he must be lonely and wants to be someone he can talk to From TV Guide Magazine, the rest of the review is meh but this.. Quote:

I thought she was going to faint. It was aweful yet wonderful to see both their reactions. Clark taking a bullet shows how much he cares about her. He did not even hesitate one second before taking the bullet. They are e p i c

Normally he can't move when he's around k-nite but he actually found the strength to jump in front of the bullet for her
