I wonder if they will ever make a re-make of this...It would be kind of cool to see since they can do so much more stuff now with special effects. I can't think of who I'd want to play Dorothy though....

I kinda don't want them to, I just adore Judy as Dorthy. And I love the production--- I don't think it would feel the same way with computer generated things.

I actually like the Wizard of Oz as it is.

Ruby Slippers - Didn't know you were such a big Anne of Green Gables fan. I used to work for the company that produced that.

I have mixed opinions on re-makes - on the one hand I like the idea of them because I think it would be great to find a cast as talented as the original to have the shot at it, but I know that very rarely do they ever measure up and usually the directors do some crazy "current" version of it that isn't very good. I think in my head I like the idea of them but in real life they hardly ever actually work out

I'm a huge fan of AoGG too - did you used to work for Sullivan?

Jazz - Yup, I just adore the books and the movies. WOW, Sullivan Entertainment ?

I agree, Gabriela. In theory it sounds okay, but I don't think it needs to be remade.

I agree - even though I think it would be cool to see what they could do with the Wizard of Oz now that there is so much more available, I cannot think of one person who would come near Judy Garland in this role. Dorothy will always be so classic because of her.

Yes, I used to work for Sullivan Entertainment two years back. Kevin Sullivan's book - Beyond Green Gables - I had a big hand in that which he thanked me for in the book.

I sincerely hope they don't intend to remake this movie, it would be horrible. It is good as it is - it's a classic!

I haven't heard any news of a remake at all.

That's so cool you worked there! And very cool to be mentioned in his book!!

I kind of wish they would have kept the Jitterbug song/dance in the movie - we did it in our high school version and it was kind of fun

I don't think I have heard the Jitterbug song...

It's pretty good - I think it's on the deluxe edition of the soundtrack...it's a really rough cut though.

I just saw The Wizard of Oz in the theater, a high definition version with extra bonus featurette, and I AM MORE IN LOVE WITH THIS MOVIE THAN EVER.

So many great moments.

Sounds like a great experience, Christi. I'd really like to see it in a movie theatre.
