The Tenure Turbulence

This episode is just really great because for the first time it shows the unconditional support Penny gives to Leonard.

She's interested in what a tenure means to him, and help him figure out what he can do. A first when they're eating
"Leonard: I’m not gonna schmooze anybody. I’m gonna let my work speak for itself.
Penny: That’s great. That shows a lot of integrity.
Leonard: Thank you. I’m a naive idiot, right?
Penny: Oh, good, you heard me."

And later when she propose to him to go with him to the memorial, and convince him in a very subtle way

To finish they're cute acting as a team in front of the others.

It's just a great dynamic between them, Penny roots for Leonard and knows how to do it.

"Penny: I’m here to support my man, just like you."


(It's a fun and lovable episode but still I have to admit that I'm a little surprised that it made it in the top 12)

It's a great episode, because of the unconditional support Penny shows for Leonard. I love it, when Penny says, "I’m here to support my man."
And the fistbump! Go Team Lenny!



The scenes with Leonard and Penny are really funny and show them as a happy couple.
Overall, "The Tenure Turbulence" is a fun and enjoyable episode, but like Laurence I'm a little surprised as well, that it made it in the top 12.

Btw...we never learned who got tenure.

Looks like there's a gap in our rewatch, hum?
I've been very busy the past few days, and today I'm flying to Paris, so that's not the perfect time, but let's get back on tracks :

The Gorilla Dissolution

One of my favourite episodes to rewatch.

Leonard and Penny are absolutely adorable all the time, from the beginning when Penny comes back from shooting "the best bisexual go-go dancer slowly transforming into a killer gorilla anyone’s ever seen" to the end with one of the most important moment in Penny and Leonard's love life for me. Their engagement was something I was waiting for for so long, and in my eyes it's more important than their wedding.

Leonard supporting Penny on set is adorable and he always find a way to confort her when she needs it after being fired.

"Penny: Leonard, you are really not cheering me up.
Leonard: Come on. How can you be sad when you’re going home with all five-foot-six of this?
Penny: Hmm. You think you’re five-foot-six, that’s funny."

The scene in Penny's apartment shows a Penny finally recognising that she doesn't need to be famous to be happy, and that she is happy with her favorite stupid Pop-Tart, aka Leonard.

The simili fight is funny and finishes with this incredible moment when Leonard take out THE RING from his wallet
HE WAS CARRYING THE RING WITH HIM ALL THE TIME SINCE A COUPLE OF YEARS!

I just remembered how this episode promoted me to change my tumblr tag for them to "otp:stupid poptart"

Their engagement wasn't at all what I expected, but it was perfect for them. And then Penny's face when Leonard pulls out the ring!

The Gorilla Dissolution

I lost count how many times I have rewatched this episode.

Throughout the whole episode it's a joy to watch Leonard and Penny. I love how Leonard is lip-synching Penny's words, when they are on the set of the Serial Ape-ist 2 movie.

Of course the highlight of the episode is Leonard and Penny's engagement. I could watch this scene in a continuous loop, and I wouldn't get tired of it.
Penny saying she doesn't need to be famous to be happy, because all she needs to be happy is Leonard, is so heartwarming.
Penny's reaction, when Leonard reveals that was carrying the ring already for a couple of years is adorable.



And then...the proposal itself



Every time I watch the engagement scene I'm touched. And the cheering from the studio audience is so uplifting.

The Stockholm Syndrome

This episode is everything I wanted to end the series. Leonard and Penny are at their best, together and ready to welcome a little one.

Each time I watch this episode I notice some little details that make me feel even better. Like this complicity between Penny and Leonard when the girls come back from shopping and before we know what's going on.

Penny's quick look to her husband
Amy:"The tailor had to take mine in and let Penny's out"

and Leonard's reaction (discreet, in the foreground)

Of course the scene in the bathroom where Leonard does his best to support his wife

And the Smart and Beautiful Babies!
Difficult to know if Penny knew already about this story or if just hears it and finds it adorable, but surely a very loving look to her husband.



The only thing I kind of missed, or would have loved to see is when Penny found out she was pregnant and how she told it to Leonard. There was a great opportunity for a nice talk between them, and it wouldd have been the occasion to address the "I don't want babies" storyline a meaning and a resolution.

Anyway, Leonard and Penny are parents now and that's all that matters!

And then I was trying to catch your eye after the scene because OMG PENNY'S PREGNANT!

I don't think I'd caught Leonard's glance to Penny in reaction to Penny's dress. Love it!
