If this was already pointed out, my apologies (I do my best to keep up but you all are just too awesome with the Shamy postings!). But I was re-watching the ep and realized that when Penny tells Sheldon her story of the guy that got away, she specifically states that "he started going out with someone else" and yet Sheldon still thinks she was talking about him! He clearly considered he and Amy "going out" even though their BF/GF status wasn't official.

Anyway, I just thought that was very cute and it made me smile. As much as he tried to downplay it, in his mind she was his girl even before this past episode.

I love those points, and I'm impressed with Sheldon. He did the Relationship Agreement in a few hours (or less)! He's a genius, and thinking that he was doing that while she was with Stuart in the threatre is so sweet!
Sheldon didn't have a doubt, he thought in the agreement immediately!

Well he did acted as if she was his girl very clearly during Isolation Permutation. He got very worried for her, his "be glad you can't keep a woman Leonard, they are a handful" and how he felt responsible for her to pick her up at the licorstore parking lot.

So I do believe that even if they weren't official he already did consider her as "his" girlfriend, subconciously at least.. and Amy going out with Stuart was the catalyst for him to make it official.

Yes-because that is basically saying that he's keeping a woman! And he got upset when she was leaving at the start of that ep, too. He may not have used the word "girlfriend" even in his mind, but she was "his."

This is a very good point Nicole. These are words that sound so cold, yet, at the same time, it's one more of his expressions of respect to her.
He doesn't want Leonard to get out of his control, he wants him to do exactly what he wants, but with Amy, he is open to negotiation, he is even saying he would be willing to let her have legal assistance and he will be okay with it.

Yes, it's cold and warm at the same time, it's the oddness and beauty of Shamy

Aw, I love coming back to two new pages of awesome posts.

I agree, Sheldon caring about Amy and feeling responsible towards her as 'his girl' had been subliminally present throughout the past few episodes. I'm almost sure that the relationship agreement had already been tentatively drafted before he went gate-crashing the date, or at least thought out in some form - he couldn't have put it all together in a couple of hours.

Oh yes, he did go to her home as soon as he got her 'approval' and left the theatre. Which just goes to show that when Dr.Sheldon Lee Cooper takes up a project he's emotionally invested in, he does it seriously - whether it's string theory, cosplay or courting Amy Farah Fowler.

Shamyuniqueness! That's why I find these two so fascinating, I've really never felt this way before about any on-screen pairing.

You guys brought up so many points that gave me far too many warm fuzzies. Like Sheldon having already drafted the agreement before asking Amy to be his girlfriend. And I love how in his mind they sort of already were dating, but now they've made it official.

And I love that art. So great that so many people are taking the time to make awesome Shamystuff.
