I noticed that too. He's seems to be getting better about casual hand and shoulder touches around her, which just shows how much their friendship has grown.

I got a bit of a mother son vibe there partly because of Sheldon's reaction in to the sticky train set in the kids section of the book store (Friendship Algorithm). "Oh my, that's awfully sticky."

He reverted to a more childlike state in his worry for Leonard.

So I've come to a headcanon decision regarding these two.

Penny says her tattoo means courage and Sheldon says soup. I'm siding with Penny since Sheldon doesn't seem to be as fluent in languages as he tends to think like in Tangerine Factor. And it seems like the tattoo parlour would be accurate.

I like it. Mostly because Penny is right and Sheldon's wrong.

Though there is the problem in Western culture where people actually don't know what Chinese symbols mean. Like in that movie "Lucy" I think it was, there were Chinese symbols on walls that were meant to be gang symbols or something, but really they meant things that didn't make sense in Chinese, showing that the movie was not researching, and was therefore pretty problematic. So it wouldn't shock me if the tattoo parlor was wrong.
