That was another Mom moment to me-otherwise he might have asked Leonard. Unless Penny was the only one around-or the rest of the guys were like "yeah no" and she did it just to get him to stop freaking out.

It's quite possible that he went to her after everyone else flatly refused, and she grumbled but complied. But that's what often happens with mothers.

Agreed. Sheldon and Penny really have an altering mother/son to sibling like relationship. At times Penny is very motherly to him and at others she's the exasperated sister with a really annoying brother.

Yeah, it's like it depends on the circumstances; I think naturally it's a sibling thing, but whenever Sheldon needs it Penny switches over to a mothering role; it's all natural.
