I love that the writers are using the engagement and the inevitable change of living arrangements to really explore the depth of the Shelnard friendship. Despite all the snarking about "compromise", these two really are best buddies and would go to the moon for each other (literally, if given half a chance). Loved the episode last night.

Agreed. Like you said, it was an inevitable change that would eventually be explored, and I'm so happy that they're choosing to focus on these two while they do it.

Last night's episode was just SO GOOD.

Some of their back and forth was making me laugh (especially the bits about how Sheldon ran away last time the topic was brought up), and then they went straight for the feels.

I never thought we'd see Leonard singing Soft Kitty, and wasn't expecting him to join in last night, but it was perfect, and oh, so many feels!

Yes, I didn't really pick up on that until someone mentioned it last night - so sweet, what a team Leonard and Penny are taking care of Sheldon! Special moment, even if Leonard did start fantasising about holding a pillow over him!

And the bit with the cake was so funny - poor old Leonard!

Mr. Insightful and Mr. Innovative were so wonderful tonight! The old Sheldon probably would have taken all the credit for Leonard's idea, but he included Leonard, supported his idea, and even wanted them to click the mouse together! I also really liked how Leonard wanted Sheldon's opinion, because he values his insight. This seriously might be favorite season for Shelnard.

These two were on FIRE in last night's episode I don't even know where to start because everything was great!

I loved how they did everything together instead of "working against the other". Sheldon didn't even mind to touch Leonard's hand, on the contrary, he asked for it. And I loved all the names they gave each other. Like an old married couple or something

Also, I have the feeling we'll hear more about their paper later in the season. I don't think it is done. I mean, Steven Hawking thought it was great.

edit: And yeah, I think our next title is pretty much set in stone

Definitely looking that way! Great stuff between them, and I wonder if this could be the start of a new level for them professionally. I know one storyline doesn't constitute a permanent development, but how great would it be if they eventually ended up collaborating on a long-term project, or major discovery?

I saw The Cooper-Hofstadter Polarization the other day, which makes a perfect pair with this episode, to see the development. To make your point about the old Sheldon, at the taping the initial audience reaction to Sheldon's line, "Our idea," was oohs - we're so used to seeing the Sheldon that thinks he can take credit and take over. But that wasn't what they were going for here at all! Loved the mutual respect! Great to see that side of their relationship.

This is what I kept thinking of while watching last night; their first published paper together since then that we know of, and seeing how Sheldon has relaxed a lot more with sharing credit, and even publishing and standing by his paper in front of "lesser minds".

Everything good about their relationship was shown last night, and the "click the mouse with me" might have evoked a tear in me.

This whole episode was so sweet

- Leonard directly running to Sheldon when he had his idea
- how happy and relieved Leonard was when Sheldon loved his theory
- the "Me Wow" sticker
- Sheldon using the word "our" without being asked
- they published it together without fighting over it
- they clicked the mouse together - twice
- they had cute nicknames for each other
- Sheldon called him "my friend"
- their shared smile when Hawkings approved their work
