(Do not get me started on Anakin and Padme though, even when I was nine I was bored and annoyed by that. )

I don't have really high hopes for episode VII, but the fact that my generation (I'm 21) will get to see a new Star Wars movie - in theaters - with Mark, Carrie, and Harrison - well, I have chills just thinking about it.
I got to see a lot of the big movies in the theater--Jaws, all of the Star Wars movies, all of the Raiders movies. Because I'm old.

The Anakin Padme thing really kind of grossed me out. The age difference was weird to begin with, when she was older and he was a little kid, but then it was somehow worse when he was a young man and their romantic scenes always seemed like I was watching a brother and sister trying to have a romance. Blech.

But it was all so new and never-before-done when the first movie came out. No one had ever seen a scifi movie like that (and then EVERYBODY was trying to make similar movies) and it was all kind of amazing.

I'm hoping that Harrison Ford was convinced to do the new film because he liked the script, not just for nostalgia's sake or whatever. He's relatively picky (though after Crystial Skull, I'm not sure I trust his pickiness...)

I didn't see the movies when they came out but I remember the radio ad for it. I often recorded songs from the radio and sometimes I forgot to switch the cassette tape deck off after the song ended. So I think there is still a commercial for the second or third movie on one of those casettes

The 9 year old of my friend is a big Star Wars fan. It's really cute, he collects everything he can get, his birthday wish was a Lego Star Wars Death Glider and he is very happy when his parents allow him to watch parts of the movies.

I'm watching it on old-fashioned videotape once I get back from rehearsal...

In the first one, she's acting like his surrogate mother after he left Shmi. Then they don't see each other for ten years and all of a sudden she "truly deeply" loves him? Oh George. No. Please stop.

I wasn't crazy about the Anakin/Padme thing. But I guess Luke and Leia had to have parents so...

I love all three of the first 3 movies (and I mean starting with episode IV). I can't even watch Phantom Menace again. I also sort of like Jar-jar. He's quirky and annoying, but if I don't have an appreciation for quirky and annoying, why am I watching TBBT?

I am hoping that all the original stars agreed to this because it's a good story, in addition to whatever nostalgic value it has for them. I never actually saw any of the second trilogy in the theater, but I will make a point to see this one.

They didn't have to have parents who met when the actors were seven and sixteen.

AOTC is my least favorite, mostly because of the love story.

I hope so too. I'm already planning to go at midnight.

I admit the prequel trilogy has acting and writing that make me cringe, but the political commentary and the tragic hero narrative were compelling to me. My heart just drops every time I watch "Death of Liberty" and "Order 66".

I may have to revoke my own Star Wars fan membership. I had to look up what those initials stand for.

I did know that it was the second movie - I just didn't remember the title.
