Oh no. I remember when I moved to Kentucky, I just signed on the first apartment that had an immediate opening. I ended up liking it for the apartment itself but the contract totally screwed us with the utility fees we owed.

Went to Chicago to see Waitress on tour yesterday. I already saw it in NYC, but the original plan was always to see it on tour. When Katharine McPhee took on the main role in NYC I had to go out and see her, but I was still planning on seeing the tour when it stopped in Louisville.
But then there was a fire in the lobby at the theater and it was cancelled for that location. So I got tickets to Chicago on a day my sister was able to come, since we haven't had a full day together with just us in years.

She used to work at the performing arts center in East Lansing where a lot of tours stop, so she's seen a lot of musicals and I don't know if she was particularly expecting to like it. She was interested in the story and liked that inspiration was drawn from the character in Twin Peaks, since she loved that show. She laughed a lot, and during one song near the end of the show where the main character is arguably at her low point, I heard sniffing sounds and looked over at my sister and she was just sobbing. Then she cried again a bit later on - during the same song that always gets me - and in the car on the way home was like "I was definitely not expecting to cry. And I was really definitely not expecting to cry twice." So she seemed to really like it, and since the story means a lot to me I'm so happy my sister has shared that with me now.

I want to try to see it when it's here in LA soon, but I haven't looked at the ticket availability yet.

Thankfully it's there over three weeks, and it stops at San Diego and Costa Mesa too, so the people who will see it At All Costs don't have to flock to Pantages.

So I just spent nearly 500$ on booking my seat for the GRE It makes me so mad that I have to spend so much money on one of the things that I hate and suck most at: tests

The fact that it's widely agreed to be a stupid test only further strengthens my resentment

Standardized testing is so expensive and so useless in so many ways. My sister is astronomically more intelligent than I am when it comes to book smarts, but I blew her out of the water in test scores.

I prefer seeing shows in Costa Mesa when I can, because the driving is SO much easier than to LA. Ended up getting my Waitress ticket for LA, for various reasons, but I'm excited to see it next month!

Standardized tests measure one thing and one thing only. Your ability to take standardized tests. I was always pitiful at my homework assignments, but give me A, B, C, or D and I can rock that. (my SAT was the one and only thing that got me accepted to college)

Yep. I knew exactly how to take those things. Didn't help me once I actually got to college, but it certainly did help me get there in the first place.

I started packing for Comic-Con tonight! Driving down there on Tuesday!

One thing I'm most excited about is that three of the Harry Potter cover illustrators are going to be there - so I'm hoping to be able to get some books signed!
