I got a new laptop yesterday! Still getting used to everything (especially Windows 10 - my old one has Windows 7), but so far so good! Nice and fast, and so quiet!

Windows 10 sucks the big one. When I switched from 7 to 8 I didn't mind it much, but I hate hate hate 10.

Next week we have Oktober, 3rd, the day of German reunification. The main celebration is always hosted by the German state which is presiding over the Bundesrat (Federal Council/ it rotates every year). This year Rhineland-Palatinate is presiding, which means the celebration will be held in my city, Mainz (the capital city of Rhinland-Palatine). And which also means my city is descending into chaos, more and more every day

Since about 2 weeks they have started builiding pavilions in public parks, have closed streets and crossroads and if I want to walk from my house to my work I have to walk a detour because pedestrian walks are also closed.
Vis-a-vis from our office is a public park and during the last week we witnessed the construction of the pavillions and exhibition halls, seems that no expense or effort is spared. It looks great and to be honest, even if everybody is starting to become very stressed out, most of the people in my city are looking forward for it.

They are expecting over 500.000 visitors for the Monday and Thursday and I hope everything will go well.

I actually haven't had many issues with 10 so far, other than just adjusting to the differences. When I used to have to help my boss with his computer that had 8, I was VERY lost. But 10 seems easier to figure out.

I think my main complaint with Windows 8 had to do with how the screens popped in and out of each other. I was constantly having to go and minimize the store screen to get back to my desktop, and I hated that. And my Windows 8 laptop was touch screen, which I didn't like either.

This week is going to draaaag, because next week I'm going to Chicago. Katharine McPhee is doing a taping of soundstage and I got a ticket to that. And I figured, while I'm there, I should probably see Hamilton again, right? So that's happening too.

I love Chicago, I went there maybe 20 years ago and I keep a very good memory of it.

I've been a couple of times, but the longest most extensive visit was when I went with some classmates in 8th grade (our middle school did this thing where the 50 top students in cumulative GPA after first semester of 8th grade who had zero disciplinary marks got to go on a week long Chicago trip). The most recent time was seeing Hamilton as a bachelorette party in February. It will be my first time going there alone!

Everyone needs to know that I am so unbelievably excited for Roxanne I keep texting and tweeting her her own Hamilton countdown.
