It looks great and to be honest, even if everybody is starting to become very stressed out, most of the people in my city are looking forward for it.

They are expecting over 500.000 visitors for the Monday and Thursday and I hope everything will go well.

I hope you have survived the chaos.

Yes, everything went well. (probably thanks to a high police presence, many barriers and closed roads) The weather could have been better, but people didn't care, the city had over 500.000 visitor during those two days (Mainz has about 200.000 inhabitants). To be honest some places were a bit too crowded - but it seemed everybody had fun and enjoyed it a lot.

I'm a bit sad that it is over but now I'm looking forward, when everything is removed all streets are cleared and when I can walk to work without making a detour

I downloaded Wicked in German and Japanese, even though I don't understand either language, just because it's cool to listen to them. Hamilton would be really interesting to hear translated, but I'm sure that'd also be a huge challenge.

(I legit considered trying to see Wicked in Germany when I was in Europe in college, but it sadly wasn't feasible.)

Oh my god, you are right they would sing it german.

I always avoid Musicals in german version because in my opinion it's not necessary. People hear english music on the radio all the time, the buy english CD's and DVD's so why do the have to watch Musicals in german language. The even translated "Abba- The Musical"

I mean even our theatre has subtitles for italian operas so why not subtitles in musicals theatres.

Hamilton would be so hard to translate I feel, because rap uses a lot of slang and vernacular and sometimes there's not really a direct translation.

I missed the episode tonight because I had to run out on a last minute shopping run for something I'm doing tomorrow. But it's downloaded so hopefully can watch in a few days!

Yeah, songs in general are hard enough to translate and still make them rhyme, so just the nature of Hamilton makes it like a million times harder.

GAH, I'm so tired, you guys!!!

School has just been relentless this year...In the next two weeks, I have a midterm, a quiz, a philosophy paper, a research paper proposal outline and roughly 4 "little" assignments for my seminar class. Oh and not to forget all my readings, daily studying for Japanese and that honours application I have to fill out

I picked the wrong term to start doing volunteer activities >.<

Oh gosh, yeah, that sounds crazy. I definitely do not miss being in college.

I was off work this weekend (because my depression took a nosedive a few days ago and apparently even on medication my mental health can be so bad I literally can't do my job gosh I love my messed up brain) and I just slept most of the time - my brain tends to use sleep as a defense mechanism - but that kind of sleep doesn't make you feel refreshed, so I'm still exhausted. And I'm babysitting the next three days and the kid ain't old enough to entertain himself.

I'm hoping maybe he will just want to play with his penguin and sleep but my guess is he'll be more demanding than that - he's 4.5 months old.

Yes! My coworkers from Mexico have asked me in the past to translate the song lyrics I have tattooed into Spanish for them, and I'm like ok but it's not gonna sound as cool...

(Not because it's Spanish but because it's not the native language.)
