A Gilmore Girls virgin! Never knew such a thing existed!

I can only recommend giving it a try. I know people who only just started watching because of the media hype surrounding the revival and they were instantly hooked.

Not gonna lie, the back and forth between Rory and her mom annoyed me.

(although it also impressed me that the actresses could get it out like that.)

Yes, there is a lot of talking, you have to get used to it (but I have to confess during my rewatch I did a lot of fast forwarding because Lorelais rambling stress me out from time to time ) and once Emily joins the squabbeling, there is even more talking But there a living many wonderful, whimsical and odd characters in Stars Hollow, it's so much fun to watch.

I binged GG earlier this year and really loved it. They do get a bit nerve wracking sometimes with the speed-talking - and I really really wonder how they can eat all that junk and not blow up like balloons (the magic of television!) - but the quirky characters really make the show.

Same. I've seen some episodes, but never anything substantial. It is on my list, but it's very very white, and from what I've heard, extremely fatphobic, which kinda pushes it down a little bit. Plus I've heard that Rory is kinda a Mary Sue, but I'm reluctant to believe that until I see for myself because Star Wars critics have said that about Rey too, and there are lots of explanations out there as to why that criticism is rooted in sexism (which I 100% agree with).

I'm sure I'll get to it eventually, but there are other shows above it on my list.

Yeah, I've never heard Gilmore Girls described as fatphobic. The show's not perfect, but I've never seen it accused of having an ongoing problem with a specific issue like this.

And actually, in regards to the fatphobia, it stars Melissa McCarthy as a main character, and I honestly can't remember her weight ever being mentioned once in all 7 sessions. And from what I've seen of her roles after Gilmore Girls, it's something that comes up fairly often in those characters.

I follow a lot of people on Twitter that have said it's fatphobic and several of them said they didn't know how Melissa McCarthy could have tolerated being on it. But again, since I haven't seen it - and since I'm not fat and the people discussing it in that way are - I don't really feel qualified to speak on it. But they are people whose opinions I respect immensely when it comes to representation and social issues.

So today at the grocery store, this lady's card was declining, and then they got it approved for $45, but her total bill was like, $52.68. I paid for the rest of her groceries and she was thanking me and said she really appreciated it, like she was almost crying. I said something like "well, hey, it's the holiday season," and then she got really angry and I was subjected to a lecture about why it's the Christmas season and "you millenials need to stop removing Jesus from everything."

Like, first of all lady, I paid for your goddamn chicken, and second of all, there are like 30 holidays in 5 or 6 major religions in this three month period so excuse me for not assuming which ones you celebrate, plus even if you still only celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's, that's still multiple holidays so yeah not sure I'll be doing any more good deeds anytime soon.

My family got some bad/scary news about my mom's health today, so any prayers or positive thoughts would be greatly appreciated right now.
