I didn't use the internet until basically college. Which was 2000.

I graduated on December, 6th 1996, about 3 days later I got my internet accout. I knew if I would do it before I finished my exams, I would be too distracted

That's too funny. As a minor I was at the mercy of my parents.

They got an AOL account for me to use during college. Complete with dial-up. When I went to college and had cable internet my mind was totally blown.

I'm the techno-geek of my family. I was the first to get a color TV (around 1980), and the first to get cable HBO (around 1982) - and it was just HBO - everything else was still over-the-air. I was the first to get Internet (around 1995) - a dial-up account with Prodigy. Yippee for a 56K modem and that sound! And I was the first to get a cell phone (1998, I think?).

All of that is exactly what I mean.

With all of that starting with TXF, I figured I can't be a fandom member and have a degree in history and not want to watch the show with the most historical significance to fandom.

Today I saw a pic an IG from the last day of taping of Mike & Molly. And while I don't watch the show on regular basis this still made me emotional

Yeah, I only watch it when I'm not doing something and there isn't anything on - I did watch it last night - but I really like several cast members (and I love Melissa McCarthy) so it is sad to see that it's over for them.
