Welcome to the 28th Mayim/Amy thread!   Mayim Bialik, “The Big Bang Theory” (CBS) – Consistently funny, Mayim manages to make Amy Farrah Fowler into one of the show’s most complex characters. From one vantage point, it’s easy to think of her as this female Sheldon, this overly scientific woman with little interest in human emotion. However, where she differs is in her capacity and interest in love, and valuing interpersonal connection. These traits combined make her somewhat different than everyone else on the show. In the late 1990's I was the clue to "53 across" in the LA Times crossword puzzle. My thesis was in the field of Psychoneuroendocrinology. I own every Elvis Costello album on LP. I have a charcoal grey hairless cat named Esau. I don't like heights, closed spaces, or swimming in deep waters in the ocean. I am obsessed with Faye Kellerman's series of detective novels about a Baal Teshuvah Jewish detective and his Modern Orthodox wife. This is so disappointing
I had really high hopes that this might finally be her year since she won a CCA and an unprecedented amount of critical praise...Mayim herself is sad about it. Now that she's out and the show just keeps getting older, I'm scared that this means she'll never get back in again  Well unless, the writers decide to write Amy an epic, Emmy-baiting episode  I don't see that happening though (For one it really wouldn't be fair to the other characters/actors)Quote:

This is probably a result of Season 9. We were complaining a lot about Amys storyline. Mayim did great with the few scenes she had but alltogether that whole break-up disaster didn't help her because it was told from Sheldons point of view.
