Jason Behr Behind the Scenes! #2

This thread is for
BEHIND THE SCENE STORIES THAT INVOLVE JASON!

I have a few rules I will enforce:

1. Please try to stay on topic.
2. NO FIGHTING!
3. DO NOT post others photos without their permission. I will remove them.
4. All Behind the scenes stories must somehow relate to Jason.
5. No personal question are to be asked about Jason. i.e. Does he smoke, is he still dating..., I heard he ran off with... etc.
6. Enjoy the stories.

Just so we can keep the stories on the board and not lose them after 30 days, if you want to bring over your own feel free to. I wasn't sure who's to bring over and who's not to. It got a bit overwhelming.

The story of my first encounter!
April 2000! Las Vegas, Nevada!

It all started while I was watching my favorite TV show "Roswell" , when a commercial came on. It
said that the cast was going to be signing autographs at Macy's on Sunday.
Dare I go? I called Trina and mentioned it to her, she replied "LET'S GO!" She is
always up for meeting stars and stuff like that. I am sure everyone has seen
Trina in her big movie debut - "Vegas Vacation"- she is the one playing
slots in the background during the scene where the Griswalds are trying to
win their money back at Keno after Clarke lost it all. Enough about Trina's
movie debut. It really has nothing to do with this story.

Sunday rolled around and we woke up early and made it to the mall by 9:15
am. Macy's doesn't open until 11am, so we waited and waited. Fortunately we weren't the only ones there at that time. There was already a short line forming in front of Macy's. We ran into two girls, Meredith and Maria, that I had met online early in the week when I was looking for info on what was happening at Macy's deal. We talked to them for a minute and decided we had better get in line. So we did. As we waited, we were given free movie passes to see the new movie "Gossip" (I never used them!). I noticed our local radio station, KLUC 98.5, setting up next to the entrance. I looked at Trina and said 'That's the station our friend Phil works for". He was the morning DJ and went by "Danger Boy". Trina went over to the table and asked if he would be showing up today. They told her YES! She came back to the line to tell me that he would be there. A few minutes later we saw what looked to be Phil. Trina went running after him to ask him a few questions. When she caught up with him, she realized it wasn't Phil but another guy, Luis, we knew from college. He explained that he is the marketing guy in charge of this event. CONNECTION! After she spoke with him for a bit longer she came back and told me everything he had told her. By the time she got back they began to
open the doors to Macy's to let us in. They led us in and made sure we were all in the same order that we were outside the door. We stood in line in front of this small stage they had set up. We noticed that there was 4 chairs set up on it behind the table. Above each chair was a poster with the actors pictures. First was Nick Wechsler of "Roswell" , next was Alyssa Milano of "Charmed", then Jason Behr of "Roswell" and last was Katherine Heigl of "Roswell". They handed us two
posters, one of "Roswell" (yes the season 1 poster) and one of "Gossip" and a Levi's t-shirt that said "Roswell".

After a while we heard some commotion coming from a clothes rack next to us. The security began to bring in the actors and then made them turn around and go back out for just a minute. I guess the crew wasn't ready for the actors to come out yet. Finally they did. WOW! Very good looking people. As we were waiting to get their autographs we were just watching them. There was a girl in a wheel chair. Jason Behr and Alyssa Milano came down off the stage and signed some photos and took some photos with her. I thought that spoke worlds for what kind of people Jason and Alyssa are. Not many actors would have done that. Finally it was time for us to go up to them and get our autographs. First was Nick. He ask me my name and I told him. I was a bit nervous and all I could say was "She's from New Mexico". Referring to Trina, she grew up in Albuquerque and so did he. They began a conversation about what highschool each of them went to and if they knew any of the same people. As I was listening to that I hear "Hi Vicki" I look over and it was Alyssa Milano. How did she know my name? Oh yea, duh, she heard me tell Nick what it was. HELLO! She was so warm and friendly I found it easy to talk to her. Next was Jason Behr. He is very good looking. I looked up at him and he asked my name. I said "Vicki" and just froze. He said with
an "i" or "y". All I could say was "i". I was shocked he even cared. WOW! He handed me the signed photo and said thank you and all I could say was thank you. I can't believe how quiet I got. Not like me at all. Last was Katherine Heigl, she is very sweet. As we started to leave Trina asked Jason if he was going to be at the Rum Jungle. He replied "Yes, I hear it's a nice place." I can't believe she asked him anything. Now that I think about I
guess I can believe it. She goes to many places alone and has no problem
talking to anyone. When we left Macy's and headed back into the Mall, we ran into Bo Jaxon the evening DJ For KLUC 98.5 . We asked him if Phil had shown up and he said no. We asked him if he knew anything about the VIP party over at the Nascar Cafe that the WB Las Vegas was holding. He wasn't sure on the info. We chatted with him a bit longer and then left. As we headed back to our car we saw the limo (SUV Limo) that was carting the
stars around. We decided not to wait for them to come out instead we headed
over to the Nascar Cafe VIP Party at the Sahara Hotel to see if we could get a glimpse of them going into to the VIP Party.

We got over there around 1pm. When we got to the cafe guess who we ran into? No really guess! Give Up? Our old friend Luis from college. He told us he was also the marketing person in charge of this event. We ask, no make that we begged, him to get us into the VIP Party. He left to see what he could do for us.When he came back he told us it was "No problem!" and asked "How many of you are there?". We said 3! He told us it would be just a bit before he could get us the wrist bands. So we waited. As we were waiting, we ran into Maria from earlier. She asked if we had seen anyone yet. We told her no. I couldn't say anything about Luis trying to get us in. He came back and handed me the passes. I had to explain to Maria how we got them and she understood. I felt bad that I couldn't get her in too. The 3 of us took off to an area where no
one could see us put on the wrist bands. There were a lot of people trying to get in. As I separated the bands, I noticed he gave us 4 instead of 3. I motioned for Maria to come over to us. I told her we had 1 extra band and
would her husband mind if she came upstairs with us. Being the wonderful guy he is, he let Maria join us. When we got upstairs, we looked around for the actors. They weren't there yet. So we noticed they had a buffet set up for the party. We grabbed some food and ate as we waited. Finally the introduced the actors. They kept them behind a rope so we wouldn't attack them all at once. We called Nick over to us first. He was real sweet and took pictures with all of us. Next was Greg? of "Felicity". He had thrown a t-shirt into the crowd as they walked out and Miranda had caught it. So he chatted with us for a while and took several pictures and signed Miranda's Shirt. Scott Foley of "Felicity" walked up to us while we were talking to Greg. He also sign Miranda's shirt and took pictures with us. Katherine Heigl of "Roswell" walked up to us next. She took pictures with us. She is so sweet. Next to come over to us was Alyssa Milano. As we were waiting for her we notice a fan crying because she was so excited to she Alyssa. Alyssa walked over to her and hugged her. She got her some tissues and water to help her calm down. I thought that was so sweet. She came over to us and we told her how wonderful she was. She said "Thank You" and took pictures with us. It was almost time for them to leave and I for one was not letting Jason leave without getting a picture with him. I called him over as he was leaving and asked him for a picture. He said sure and took pictures with all of us. He was so sweet, but I was still somewhat speechless around him. Miranda asked for a hug and he gave her one. She told him " I hope your show gets renewed for next season." They rest of us agreed and he said Thank You! and Good Bye! and smiled at us as he left the room. We hung around a bit long and watched as they paraded the actors downstairs and our to the limo. We finally headed downstairs too.
I know that was long winded. Here are some of the cute BTS stories.

This was during the filming of "Summer of 47".

We drove late at night to watch them film in the middle of the desert(Saugus, Ca). It was the "Summer of 47" episode. As we approach the set we see what we thought was an extra heading for the phone, turns out as we got closer we could see it was Brendan in his uniform. I was surprised how well Brendan looked in his uniform. The dead give away that it was indeed Brendan was when we heard him talk on the phone, he was very loud. I could only guess who he was talking too, but we couldn't make out his conversation so I'll leave that alone.

Next, we decided to track down one of the security guards to see where we should stand. As we began to approach the set, we saw a blonde girl, who we thought was Katherine. Turns out PamJ2 looks like Katherine from the back. We sat and chatted with her, some of the crew and security, while the rest of the crew got the next scene set up.

Not so funny yet, huh? Here comes the funny part.

You all know the scene that has Jason and Brendan driving the big truck. During filming they had to keep backing up the truck and redoing it from different camera angles. At one point when they where backing up the truck it was headed straight for us. All I could see was Jason's EARS! They had a light behind Jason and his ears glowed. I had to laugh because that was the first time we had seen him in his uniform that night. They really stuck out, but he still looked amazing.

Another thing was Brendan's ability to drive a stick. He kept stalling and causing it to jerk. He and Jason just kept laughing.

Please ask before posting anywhere else.

MyrnaLynne: Since you posted at the end of the last thread, I'll bring those over.

Here's my story from 2000, when we toured Paramount and saw the Roswell sets:

"Even that early in the morning, it was HOT and sunny. Waited for the approximately 68 other people in the Roswell group (the first of many waves of tours all day long). Watched the employees drive through the gates to work at Paramount – hoping some of them would be Roswell actors! But somebody said the actors etc. drive in through a different gate. Still – hope springs eternal! The staff at Paramount was great, very energetic, efficient, friendly etc.

The person who organized the group tour had told people we wouldn't tour the Roswell sets and no photographs were allowed. She got up and announced good news – we COULD visit the Roswell sets – but still, no photos. We were all ecstatic! We followed our tour guide and were given an expert tour of the studio, its history, the various departments, etc.

Then we got to the soundstage where Roswell is filmed, and the tour guide said, "Take pictures of anything you like!" Woo hoo! We went crazy! Everyone was oo-ing and ahhing and squealing! First we entered and a level below, down some steps, was the area that serves as the outdoor eating patio (where Isabel burned her mouth on the pizza and Tess came along); and the round holes up above that various people including Michael had peered through on occasion. There were 'trees' down there – it was very detailed and realistic.

We went into the Roswell High set – amazing, just like being inside a real school! People were taking photos of EVERYTHING – the candy machine, the corner where Max 'hid behind the tree,' the classroom! (no lab bench in there though – sorry!), the office – we went into the boys bathroom set (sinks and toilets etc. were removed) and somebody sat up on the counter just like Max had done waiting for Michael (and his black eye) to come out.

The most amazing was the Crashdown itself – Those famous doors! The booths – it was just a perfect, 3-dimensional, totally realistic restaurant (only with no ceiling to allow for lights, microphones, etc. – but there were lamps!) – the swinging door with the diamond-shaped pane of glass led to the lockers and the little staff lounge, and the stairway up to the Evans' apartment (where Dad looked down and thought he saw Maria 'selling Liz drugs') – only there is no "upstairs" – at least not on that soundstage (other tour groups saw the bedroom sets and Michael's apartment, but we didn't see that). And to the left of the locker area, was the kitchen! Where Michael burns those burgers – where those strawberries... fell on the floor! oh my! I shot a roll of film in about 20 minutes, and Provence kindly lent me an extra roll – I finished the second roll before I even left the Crashdown! LOL! The Crashdown was amazing. All the details – the customer checks at the cash register, the weird alien art on the walls – Everything!

The funny thing was, the spaceship over the door was missing – just sortof a plywood silhouette behind it – because they had trucked it out to Covina to hang on the Crashdown building out there (I guess)! Also interesting, across the street from the Crashdown is a huge diorama photograph of the view across the street in Covina – the shops, the car parked (? Tess's broken down car) etc. It is very very realistic! A huge photomural.

I saw the 'shoot-through' locker with no back, where they film stuff like Maria finding the napkin holder, etc. Oh, it was so amazing. Saw a bulletin board in a hallway that had school photos tacked up of various W. Roswell High students – and among them were several photos of the long-haired Jason Katims! LOL! Too funny! You could imagine how such a beautiful, realistic, and detailed set helped the actors in their performance, as it was truly like a 'real place.' The soundstages are enormous soaring gigantic buildings."

That's just one part of the story. I'll post more later! Sad thing is, since 9/11, Paramount Studios decided to stop giving their tours, for security reasons. Very sad! It's a wonderful place!

"I told my friends I'd meet them in Covina – and asked them to bring along the bag of presents for Jason – just in case! The highways in LA are strange in that they don't give you much warning about exits coming up, and they don't have any of those helpful signs about exits for gas stations, food, etc.

It was still very hot and sunny – but at least breezy and not humid – but I had already been walking around in the sun since 8 a.m. and ML does NOT do heat or sun! Sun hater! Heat hater! Mushroom girl! But I was in Covina – and Roswell was there!!! I was too excited to let a little thing like heat exhaustion or sunstroke stand in my way at that point.

Covina is a lovely town. I would move there in a minute! Some of the stores had alien-related ads painted in the store windows – I assume for the filming. I ran to a photo store and got a roll of 36 pictures. I thought I was being so cool and the man said, "Here to watch them film Roswell?" Busted! I took pictures of the Crashdown, and the Night on the Town sign where drunken Max sat in Blind Date – it's the neon sign over the door of a ticket agency! LOL! Took pictures of various Roswell things in town.

I found my roommates plus OlderFan, got my precious bag of presents. But there was no JB! He had a later call to go out to Covina. But we heard he was coming later, and due to film until 2 a.m.! Woo hoo! Still, there was Roswell happening.

A parking lot had been taken over by all the white trailers of the company. There was a flatbed truck with Bob the Jeep parked on it. They truck the various show vehicles out to film on location, I guess to save wear and tear of driving them. We sat in a shady park across from the lot with the trailers for awhile, but the action had already moved away from there to the other street. And MrV was there – but we'd missed him! He'd been talking to people earlier! Rats! But they were filming a scene with Nick Wechsler and a bus. {When he comes home and MrV is late picking him up}

Funny thing was, people were out there who didn't even know what Roswell was, just happened by out of curiosity, stopped to watch them filming. And then there were pushy RosMoms who had taken the day off to bring their precious daughters there and by gosh they were going to meet and see and do if it killed them and nobody better get in their way!

We stood in an alley (the same alley, in fact, where the scary limo stops and tries to get Alex to get in, in "Crazy" – the very spot!) and way way in the distance, there was a bus that pulled up beside the building that also serves as the UFO museum (but at this point, the back of it was the bus station), extras walked around, and Kyle got off and peeked around the bus. He was gorgeous! Even from so far away, you could see his broad shoulders and the sun gleaming off his shining hair and his adorable Kyle face. He was just golden and glowing! (Okay, maybe it was the makeup, but the boy looked very good!) He got on the bus, it backed up, it pulled up, he got off the bus – about 100 times, over and over! (Later, I heard that Nick and MrV had filmed a scene in and out of the Sheriff's police car another 100 times.) Making a TV show is a very slow and tedious process! Those things that take a second on the screen take hours and hours of work. Take all day long! That's why it takes a week to make a one-hour TV episode. And the cameras and things were so interesting. They had one on a boom with a seat, and a person would shove it up in the air and pull it down again, following the action.

We hated to leave Covina, But we all agreed if they were filming that night, we'd be there – and it would be SO much more comfortable without all that sun and heat!

Here's another story:
Man's best friend.

During a break from filming ARCC, we noticed Jason petting a dog. I mean, not just petting, but giving the dog a full body massage. As we all know, Jason is a BIG dog lover and this puppy was benifiting from his love. He gave Opa(yes, Opa, Brendan's old dog) a 10 minute body massage! Talk about doggy heaven. :lol

Been going through some old files from Myah. She had this cute story from Bill saved.

Hey Space Rangers! Guess what? This is Sleep Awareness Week and we here in the Land of Ros are painfully aware of how little of it we're getting these days. Why just tonight I was doing a scene with Jason and he took this pause that just went on and on and on and I thought, "My goodness that's a long dramatic pause. My line must have really moved him." Then his eyes glazed over and fluttered shut. His head bounced. His eyes opened and he said, "I'm sorry. Did you say something?" He had dozed off while I was talking. I don't think it was my acting. I think he was just tired. So before the next take I grabbed a handful of grapes from craft service and each time the camera was on him, I'd throw a grape at him before each of his lines. I always use very ripe white grapes because they're soft and they don't stain the actor's face or clothes. This is another of those "Secrets of the Stars". Not only did he not fall asleep again, but he gave a very lively and interesting performance! He didn't say a word to me afterwards but I'm pretty sure he was grateful for my help. I think it's important to be generous with your fellow actors.
Well, I'm going to celebrate Sleep Awareness Week for a couple hours now before I'm needed back on the set, grapes in hand, ready to help other actors be the best they can be.
Always arrive alive and thinking about the other guy,
MrV

D'oh, I put them on the wrong thread? Sorry! Thanks for moving them, Vicki!

I love MrV's story about tossing grapes at Jason to keep him awake - poor baby, they worked them such long hours.

Also like the dog-loving story - never heard that one, but doesn't surprise me. Jason is such a dog lover and so good with dogs.

I have more of that story - 'Night in Covina' and 'The FF Party' and 'The Valentine Party' (with MrV and Nick) but they are very long. The whole original report of that trip ran about 30 pages!

ML: You posted on the right thread. I just opened this one right after you posted. So I figured I'd bring yours on over.

I would love to hear the rest of your stories.

The dog story was the PG version. Let's just say that dog got a "FULL BODY" massage. I was like WOW! I forgot to get pictures of it.

OK, 'Night in Covina':

We were on the road again that evening after dinner – headed out to Covina! Back to see Jason! When we pulled off the Citrus Ave. exit and into the town, I got butterflies in my stomach, my legs got weak, my feet got icy cold – I just knew this was it, and I was going to meet Jason Behr. But it was the first and last time I was nervous or scared. It was just like a touch of stage fright before you go on.

When we got there, it was night, and the shooting was set up across from the UFO Museum. I was standing behind the yellow police tapes, in front of a bank building. The UFO museum was diagonally across the street. I looked through the darkness ahead – and there was Jason! He was maybe 20 feet away, sitting in his director's chair, head bent over his script – and the beautiful curve of his head, the back of his neck, his back... took my breath away. It was like poetry. I wished I could take a picture, but of course, we couldn't take pictures when they were filming. I totally didn't even notice Brendan Fehr sitting next to him, until he got up (he had bare arms and a sleeveless shirt). Our Fehrian friend started having palpitations about then! LOL! There were a LOT of people there. Bunch of very young girls in front of me. And Brendan, being Brendan, started joking around (loudly) about the cocaine he'd just scored and what a great price or whatever – and the little girls' eyes got round as saucers! He is just such a punk! Jason was very quiet, very serious, very intent on his work. He had on a dark jacket. Katie Heigl was there, with her hair up, looking absolutely gorgeous as usual. The three of them stood around and talked a bit. (I found out later Majandra was also there briefly but I missed seeing her.)

The street was blocked off and there were (stunt) cars ready to drive up and down the street for the scene where they walk across the street. There were all kinds of cameras and people standing around involved in the show, and a lot of policemen making sure the crowd behaved. People with clipboards and megaphones and headsets. They had this water tank truck that drove up and down the street and wet the street down for the scene. Very interesting – the water reflected the light better and made the filming better somehow (and I just thought it rained a lot in Roswell, NM! LOL!) Jason, Brendan, and Katie had the exciting task of walking across the street toward the UFO Museum. They walked across the street.. and came back. Walked across the street... and came back. At one point, Brendan gave Katie a piggyback ride back across the street on his back, just fooling around. I thought maybe he didn't want her to get her feet wet.

I had to answer a call on the cellphone and went around the corner - by the time I got back, they were finishing with that scene (I'd missed Brendan climbing the walls – literally!) and moving over to the Crashdown, so we high-tailed it over there to stake out a good spot across from the Crashdown, over on the main street. Ryan, Jason's stand-in, a guy with brown hair and a white shirt, walked through the scenes before Jason did them, so they could get the lighting and camera movements etc. figured out (and let Jason rest, I guess, or study his script or whatever).

So we watched Ryan jog up and down the sidewalk awhile. There was a woman in front of me, I remember, and I said, "He runs all right, but wait till you see Jason run! He trained to play a track star on "Push" and he can really run. Wait and see."

Oh – "Tess, Lies, and Covina": There was a rumor going around that night about Emilie – that she'd been in an car accident, hurt her face, and had to drop out of the show and that they were there reshooting scenes in Covina that night to shoot around her. People were first happy about no Tess, and then really upset at the thought Emilie was hurt. We didn't know it until the next night at the FF Party (when Emilie showed up, totally fine) that it was just a story somebody was amusing themselves by spreading through the crowd!

And it was a huge crowd. There were probably 200 people there – people with little kids, babies sleeping on their shoulders. Girls in gaudy getups of skin-tight pants, feather boas and body glitter. The women who had silver handprint tattoos put on their bodies {the MOBS} were there and a big topic of conversation.

At that point, one of the people from the show came out and told us that all the actors had gone home and they were just going to be filming some stunt sequences, and that we should all go home too. I knew that Brendan and Katie were done and had gone home. Some people left. I stood there hugging my bag of presents for Jason and got all teary-eyed. But I wasn't leaving.

And then it was quiet on the set, and the cameras were rolling. It was very quiet, and suddenly you heard the slap-slap-slap of little black Max sneakers running up the alley (unseen) to the left side of the Crashdown... and Jason burst around the corner, running faster than a human being should be able to run... and not wearing any shirt! ARGH! I dropped everything I was holding – including my precious bag of presents and his 3 framed "diplomas" (luckily not framed in glass). If I had false teeth, they would've been on the sidewalk too!

And the crowd was TOTALLY SILENT – until the director yelled "Cut" – and the crowd burst into spontaneous cheering and woo hooing! Jason started walking back toward the Crashdown and he took this huge bow, swinging his hands out to the sides and behind him, a huge grin on his face. And then he went back – to do it again! Oh, life does not get much better than this! I couldn't see it that well, but people said he had a bloody handprint on his chest, over his heart! I wondered what that was all about! Poor Max.

Quiet on the set again and action and the slap-slap-slap of little black Max sneakers pounding down the alley, and Jason burst around the corner again and ran SO fast and so beautifully and we were all sooo quiet. They yelled cut and he stopped (with difficulty – the man was flying) and turned and walked back. He made it about half way up the street – and everybody burst out cheering again – we just couldn't help it. And he got a huge grin on his face! I don't know how many times he ran down the street. I remember having the wonderful thought that this was being filmed, and in October it was going to be broadcast {"Ask Not"}, and I could tape it (at 2 hr speed) and I would have Jason, with no shirt, running down the street, on videotape, for all time – to be studied, frame by frame. He has the most incredibly perfect body. Very very lean but his muscles are just honed to perfection. And his beautiful long neck.. and his gorgeous back... oh my! And there he was, in his glory! Running – right in front of us! Life just does NOT get any better than this.

They had warned us about no flash photography (the flash would reflect off things and ruin the shots) and no videotaping, because everything was copyrighted – but a lot of people had fancy cameras with no flash and other people (maybe they missed the speech to the crowd?) were just videotaping away anyway!

Then Ryan was back and he was down at the corner and running up the street toward the Crashdown in the opposite direction. He did that a few times, and we cheered for him too – and he took off his shirt and waved it around and we woo-hooed for him too! He was enjoying himself! And then Jason was back (still without his shirt). He stood at the corner and waited and sortof shook his hands a little and got ready – and he got into character and he became Max Evans! It was astonishing. And when they called action, he ran. Ran for his life. Ran faster than any human being runs unless they are trying to win an Olympic gold medal. Ran so hard he had trouble stopping when he hit the bunch of people and equipment in front of the Crashdown. And then he went back down the street – and did it again.

There were also some other people involved in some scenes – a guy and girl walking down the street that Max passes – and I think touches them (with his bloody hand?). A stunt girl riding a bicycle that Jason had to time his running to match. Very technical and there was a lot for him to think about. There was a woman driving a car also, that drove around the corner (and backed up, and drove around the corner, and backed up, over and over).

I was worried about Jason, because they had wet down the street and the sidewalk in front of the Crashdown as they'd done by the UFO Museum for filming, and I was really worried about him running on that wet pavement that fast, in those flat soled, Chuck Taylor type sneakers – and there were also flowering trees in bloom along the street, and the sidewalk was littered with little white flower petals – I was afraid he'd slip and fall and get hurt, he was running so flat out and so very hard. Like a gazelle. Like a cheetah. Like one of G-d's most beautiful running creatures.

Then they changed the setup and herded us all across the street from where we were standing to the other side, and moved things around and moved us down some more.

I think at this point Jason first showed up and started signing autographs and posing for photos for the crowd. He had put on a shirt, but there was the fake blood on his chest and all over both his hands. There was a crewcut bodyguard guy with him, who (literally) watched his back, and wouldn't let anybody get too close or around behind him. People swarmed up to him, pushing and crowding to get his autograph, to say hi, to take pictures before he had to go back to work. I don't think I got up to him the first time he came out, but I saw him and he was so beautiful, and I took pictures of him (which when developed were like his eye or his nose or a lock of his hair surrounded by a crowd).

I watched him listen attentively to each person, find out where the camera was, wet his lips and compose his face and POSE and make his face incredibly gorgeous for each and every person's photo with him! I mean, he was handsome already, but when the camera took his picture, he became GORGEOUS. It was truly amazing, how he voluntarily could put on this 'photoface.' Too soon, he had to go back to work.

Oh, at one point, somebody asked if he was coming to FF party and he said he was, and they asked if he was nervous about coming to a party with 450 fans and he said, "Why? I've probably met most of you guys out here tonight already." Just very kind and gentle and funny and down to earth. What was there to be afraid of (he found out at FF party – but that's later in the story!) We heard rumors in Covina that earlier in the day somebody had tried to break into Jason's trailer. This was very upsetting.

I'm not sure if it was at this point that we began to chat with Pasquale the grip. He was a guy standing on the corner, working on the show. A lot of the people there were very friendly. A couple of the security guards were regaling the crowd with stories earlier in the evening, chatting with everybody. Very funny. He was really really nice. He even went and brought us some bottles of water later on. He was the sweetest guy. We found out what a grip actually does – which is something, but it's not exactly electrical. He had all kinds of duct tape, clothes pins, little short pieces of rope etc. – he definitely looked ready to take care of anything that came up! He was in charge of a big light they had around the corner. We were hoping he had some inside gossip, but it turned out we knew way more about the show than he did, because he had just been hired temporarily for that particular

Jason was across the street now, without his shirt, hanging out, chatting with some makeup girls and people on the show. Somebody sprayed him with "Hollywood sweat." A wardrobe person actually lifted up the legs of his pants and pulled up his long long white socks for him! LOL! (His hands were so covered in stage blood, he'd make a mess doing it himself, and I'm sure he totally pounded them down around his ankles running so hard earlier). Not sure if she fixed his shoelaces for him or not. {I want this job}

At one point he sortof grabbed both pant legs and hiked up/adjusted his pants (and himself) before running – and I thought I would faint dead away on the sidewalk! I think this time he started a bit around the corner and was running around the corner and up the street. He started to run – and slipped and almost fell down but sortof cartwheeled his arms and legs and caught himself and regained his balance (did I mention this man is elegant and graceful as a cat?) But see, I was worried and he did almost slip and fall and hurt himself! Poor baby!

Maybe it was at this point that Jason came back for more photos and more autographs and I got to talk to him. In one of the photos earlier (taken by jenerator – thanks Jen!), where he and I are both grinning – He was trying to autograph something for somebody, and he was having an awful time because his hands were so sticky from the stage blood (it had the tacky consistency of partly dried paint). Somebody was offering him a different pen and he said, "I don't need another pen, I need a new pair of hands," and I said, fervently and in my best Mae West voice, "Oh, there is NOTHING wrong with those hands!" As you can see from the photo, my face is SO red and I am grinning, he is also just grinning! : > The man has gorgeous hands. (I couldn't just stand there and hear him talk down his beautiful young hands, could I? LOL!)

Hmm – I don't want anybody to think I just love this guy for his body though (I just love this guy – the fact that he had a beautiful body came as a total surprise and very pleasant 'bonus'! LOL!)

Anyway, later it was my turn. Jason had his pen and he was looking around for what I wanted him to sign, and looked a little perplexed I didn't have anything. I said, "Jason, I don't want anything FROM you, I want to GIVE you something." I told him how I'd come down 5 hours on a bus to NY and seen him very briefly in NY at the WB thing – at which point he asked me my name, and I could almost see him flipping through his mental Rolodex of names/faces/places – I think this guy has 'total recall.' I explained I'd seen him so briefly that we hadn't talked and he hadn't gotten my name, that I'd just told him I was an enormous fan – and so I'd come out to LA to get a chance to meet him – and that I had a gift for him, and when I'd told people online that I was making this gift for him (the honorary degrees), over 100 people had wanted to sign the gift and put their names on it, because everyone loved him so much... At this point, I had taken up too much of his time and the crowd was getting restless for their turn, so I wrapped it up and said that that present was in the bag and a bunch of other little presents from me, along with a note that explained everything.

Again, in his presence as I was in New York, I was totally calm and peaceful. I don't know how he does it, but he just projects this aura of calm and peace and respect and you just respond to him the same way. No matter what horny line you had prepared to hit on the guy, it just dies unspoken on your lips because he deserves better than that! It's so hard to explain the magic this man works! And again, I couldn't actually look at his beauty, but only focus on a spot! I remember thinking "look at his eyes, look at his eyes" – but I got stopped short by his eyelashes, noticing how amazingly long his lashes were – they projected out way further than his eyebrows (and he has deep-set eyes), both top and bottom eyelashes – long and huge – of course there was makeup on them – and he was very made up for filming – and I was looking at his face, looking below the makeup at all the little scars and tiny nicks in his skin underneath (souvenirs of his skateboarding youth?).... just studying him microscopically! Just like in NY, when I got my eyes fixated on one little wavy vein at the base of his throat... Still never got to look at those gorgeous eyes – The man is truly like the sun – when you get too close to him, your senses just shut down to protect you from going blind! LOL! He listened attentively (that's the photo of him with his head down, listening, and my back to the camera, talking to him)

and then he took the bag (his bodyguard guy had to schlep it around the rest of the night for him) and he must've said thanks and shook my hand – and our hands got stuck together from the stage blood! LOL! And I'm thinking "Hmm, stuck together with Jason Behr.. This isn't a BAD thing," but then he managed to pry his hand loose.. I think we laughed - and somebody tapped him on the shoulder and told him it was time to go back to work again. People were very disappointed, but he assured us he'd be back.... I turned and walked away and my legs were like rubber and I was all weak and shaky and happy – my mission was accomplished - Jason had the gifts – I'd given them to him personally, I'd explained about the online fans signing it too – I had a little of his blood on my hand and I never wanted to wash that hand.

His hand isn't much bigger than mine – though my hands aren't small (made me realize how teeny Shiri's face must be, because Max's hands look so huge on her face). He is very very thin in person – there is just less of him than you would expect – very slender and fine boned and all the gorgeous planes of his face. His hair was so beautiful, especially in back where it tended to curve and curl to the right at the bottom (why you see that little lock of hair sticking out on the right behind his neck sometimes in pictures). I took a picture of the back of his hair and the back of his beautiful neck, but they didn't come out great (none of my Covina pix came out great).

And he is taller than I thought he was when I saw him in NY – probably 5 ft 11 or so. (The size of Mr ML – and the shape of Mr ML too – When I got home, I hugged Mr ML quite a lot! LOL! They have very very similar beautiful long slender athletic bodies – except Mr ML has no 6-pack abs and no chestage, because he plays basketball but doesn't work out)

It's funny because I've met several people and if you'd asked me, I would've said they were much shorter than me, yet in photos afterward – we are almost exactly the same height! I guess I have always been tall for a woman and just overestimate my size and underestimate the size of people my height or shorter. Same with NickW – I thought he was very short, like maybe came up to my shoulder (he whisked out of the elevator and past me at FF Party and ducked into the VIP Room), but when I posed for photos with him at the Valentine Party, I was maybe an inch taller? Another weird quirk of the mind of ML

Anyway – JasonB is thin (but not unhealthy!), just very fine-boned and slender; he is tall (but not very) - and he is BEAUTIFUL! And talented. And gracious and kind and gentle and the most wonderful man on earth and truly, like his middle name Nathaniel (at least as reported in that unauthorized biography book) – God's gift! A magical man. I don't think the boy is god, but he does have an amazingly godlike sweet and gentle nature and almost does seem not-of-this-earth. Maybe that's why people say he is mysterious? A mystery wrapped in an enigma. A heck of a sweet and nice guy. Kind. Generous with his time and his attention. Did I mention beautiful?

I am of the opinion that this meeting-the-fans persona is just that – a persona that Jason 'does' to deal with the public. It is beautiful and charming and gentle and lovely and loving - but on some level, I think it is 'an act.' He projects this aura and I think it helps to protect him. And I think it is wonderful that he is so wonderful with people – he could just as easily be some snotty stuck up little jerk, right? But he is so totally not!

And then you don't feel so stupid for loving and admiring the guy so much, because he is just so good. A gentle man, and a gentleman. A guy you would gladly leave all your earthly possessions behind, just to be with.... Sorry, carried away for a minute! [But I guess it's a good thing JasonB went into show biz and didn't form a religious cult or anything!]

And despite all the stories about him chain-smoking so heavily – he totally had no odor of cigarettes on him or on his clothing (or any odor on him, which is pretty amazing, considering all the hard running the boy had done that night). And he did not smoke in front of anybody that entire evening – I don't think anyone saw him with a cigarette. I think he is very careful about not being photographed smoking, to be a good role model or whatever. And despite smoking, he is in wonderful shape, to be able to run like that! Didn't double over and hack or anything! (But he still should quit! I want him to stay young and healthy! Smoking gives you wrinkles and cancer and bad stuff like that!)

I was floating on air pretty much after that, even though it was probably 3 or 4 in the morning. I was on an adrenaline high, jumping around, doing karate kicks and scaring my roomie Sarah, who was sure I would tear something or kick somebody in the nose. I was just so happy! I found a bag of some Crispy M&M I'd brought with me for provisions – they 'd totally melted on the Paramount tour in the sun and fused together into a very nasty-looking mass. But they tasted pretty good!

Okay, so you're probably wondering – what was in the bag? What did I give Jason? Well, I posted them on Roswell2 after I got home as promised, so the 100+ people who 'signed' the gifts know I made Jason three honorary college diplomas - a Bachelor of Acting, a Master of Body Language, and a Doctor of Osculation [kissing] degree. They were printed on parchment-like paper and framed in box frames, and imho, pretty funny but nice. Had cool Latin mottoes and such. I hope he liked them. Hope he keeps them and hangs them up someplace. (I know people who never got to go to college sometimes feel like they missed out on something, and I think JasonB is certainly smart enough and accomplished enough and has worked enough years in his field to merit these diplomas!)

The rest was little stuff from me – a pull n' go toy NASCAR racer I sent away for from Kellogg's cereal for him, a little 'finger skateboard' I bought in a country store in Western Mass; I slipped my copy of "Ask Mr. Bear" in there as I thought it might be something the Behr family should own a copy of; an individual serving box of Cocoa Krispies, from the cereal I brought with me to LA for 'provisions' because I know he likes those (what boy doesn't?); and a Krispy Kreme donut travel mug, T-shirt, and hat! I know it was too much, but I couldn't help myself! LOL! (Though I am pretty sure he is not geeky enough to wear them all together! Probably too cool to wear them at all. But maybe the mug will be useful? And I bet he scarfed down the box of Cocoa Krispies dry, in the car before he even got home! Kind of like me and the melted M&M's – at 4:30 a.m., it's just the thing!) And a note to explain everything, especially the diplomas. The hat was really really nice, though I don't know if he'll ever wear it. sigh. Made me really happy to give him that stuff anyway. And a gift is a gift, and once you give it to a person, what they do with it is entirely up to them!

Anyway, back in Covina - They rolled in some big reflective screen, made of sortof squares of silver and gold silky material. Things were set up. Then they were filming an actual stunt {where Jason trips over some outdoor tables while running}, and Jason's stunt double came out. He also had no shirt on (sigh) and this man was Jason's body double – long and lean and muscular – probably even more muscular because the guy is a stunt man, after all. Not quite as beautiful a body and definitely nobody has as beautiful a neck! He was sitting on the ground, legs straight out in front of him, pulling kneepads up his legs to go under his pants, bent almost double, beautiful muscles rippling along his sides. I went to take a photo of him and somebody said, "That's not Jason! That's just his stunt double" – and by that time the moment had passed. Like, duh, I knew that, but at that moment, the guy looked incredibly beautiful. He disappeared behind a screen and we heard a horrible metallic crash and I guess that was the stunt, but we couldn't see anything. But we know Max got hurt, because the next time Jason appeared, he had a very very realistic scrape painted on his left cheek – the kind you get when skin meets pavement. (These makeup artists are truly artists, and they study medical stuff to make these things really realistic – ewww!) Poor Max! I hate to see Max get hurt! I know it's just pretend, but it hurts my heart!

Another one of the (lying) assistant director/crowd control guys came by again and said, "Why don't you people go home? Jason has gone home. We're just finishing a few things up."

And I said, "Jason said he'll be back – and Jason is a man of his word." And sure enough, he came back a little later and posed for photos and signed autographs for the last of us die-hard fans waiting on the sidewalk in Covina around 4:30 in the morning. He autographed the beautiful picture of Max and Liz that (the woman whose name I am blanking on's) daughter drew – and he admired it and was so careful of it – somebody gave him a paper to put under his (bloody) hand when he signed, so he wouldn't mess up the work of art. And when he put his arm around people to pose for pictures, he was very careful not to touch them with his sticky hand and mess up their clothes. So considerate and nice!

I know at some point some of the gang who 'stalked him' in NY (waited hours in the rain outside Regis' studios) posed for photos with him and he totally remembered them, the rainy day, etc. Someone handed Jason one of the Dreamer pins – the pin was made by Crazy4Roswell for the DreamGirls (and Guys) and is about 2 inches square, enamel on gold metal, red on a white background, with the M.E + L.P. heart with the arrow through it from "Blind Date" in the center and the words "Proud to be... a Dreamer." Anyway, they gave one to Jason and he liked it, I think said thank you and that it was very nice, and slipped it right into his left pants pocket! We KNOW Jason is a Dreamer! (And Liz is Max's 'dream girl.')

And Sarah shoved our shy friend deah forward – she had a cast photo with a picture of Henry the Grip in there – She showed it to Jason, and you could see the wheels turning in his head, that he had NO IDEA what the photo was about but trying hard to understand and be polite, and deah tried to explain it to him, and I explained Henry was sortof a fictional online cast member and he sortof 'got it' – I think it was supposed to be a gift for him from deah, but he didn't quite get it, and he autographed it and gave it back to her, which made her pretty happy anyway, and I think they got a photo too. (Later deah said Jason was just STARING hungrily at her pack of cigarettes, which is probably another reason why he was having trouble following her story – aside from it being 4:00 in the morning by then!) That made me truly believe Jason didn't go online, because he had such a clueless expression - no idea what you are talking about but trying really hard to understand, wanting to be polite, but not getting it, just having no clue.

At this point, I realized I didn't have a picture with him, that my back was to him when I gave him the gifts earlier in the evening – so I went up to him and asked him if I could possibly pose for a picture with him, since my back was to the camera when I gave him the bag of presents before and he said sure, and said, "I like your shirt by the way," very gently and quietly – it was a Moby 'Play' shirt – because Jason likes Moby. Anyway, he put his arm around me and I put my arm around his waist and grabbed onto his blue corduroy shirt for dear life – and I'm debating giving him a squeeze but thought I'd better not – and I was in absolute heaven, and I just rested my head on his shoulder and - I guess it was OlderFan {Cheryl} who snapped the picture – I just wanted to stay right there forever, you know – where I wanted to be.

And I really really really wanted to just turn my face and kiss him on the cheek, because it had that terrible painful 'boo-boo' on it that looked so realistic, and I just wanted to kiss it and make it better, because I love him so much – but all I could think of was that woman who stole a kiss on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale and then bragged "I KISSED JASON BEHR" and I just thought he deserved more respect than that. So I didn't. (When the picture came back, my eyes are closed – looks like I am sleeping on his shoulder! – and Jason's face looks SO amused. Oh well, at least he found me amusing instead of annoying! It's a start! I've always been a person to wear my heart on my sleeve and my emotions on my face –and you can pretty much tell at that moment I am totally in heaven!)

And a guy pulled up in a red Bronco type car, waiting to drive Jason home – back to his trailer to clean up, back to his well-deserved rest! He stayed to the very last, until everybody who wanted a picture or autograph got to meet him. They were breaking down the sets and beginning to pack the equipment away by the time he left.

And we headed back to our cars, all of us walking on air and adrenaline and love for Roswell and for Jason. It had been a LONG day. We got back to our hotel and my roommates Sarah and deah and I talked a little more and I finally got to sleep – at quarter of 6 in the morning! The best day of my life and definitely the best night (morning?).

ML that was so well written and so detailed I felt like I was there myself! Anyone who doubts Jason's integrity after reading your most gracious and heartfelt account truly needs to see a shrink! What a man! It makes me proud to love someone who is so respectful and so charming. And I've yet to meet him but reading accounts like yours and all the others so graciously posted here makes me feel I know him from afar. I've spoken to Sarah about it at length and she was so sweet to bring all her photos to lunch with her and I was so fortunate to be able to drool over them and live vicariously thru all you guys. And I hope you have that pic of you and Jason framed and hanging in a prominent location. Oh and I'd love to have your autograph, Ms. ML. You touched and talked with Mr. B and that makes you a star in my book. And that goes for all of you who've been so lucky to have met Jason. Thanks so much for all your wonderful BTS stories.

Bad Jason did run really fast over and over again, but he is in such excellent shape that he didn't really seem very tired, even that late at night. He wasn't sweating or anything (they had to spray fake sweat on him). He seemed very calm and relaxed, occasionally drank some bottled water, even with the added stress of having hundreds of fans there watching him work and wanting to meet him too. The thought of him falling or getting hurt does make you want to cry, though. This guy should never be hurt!

Thanks MamaDee - you are a pretty great writer yourself. The tales of your 'Behr hunt' in Newfoundland are legendary! If anybody deserved to meet Jason, you and your son did after all that. I hadn't posted that story since the first time I put it on Ros2 after it happened - hate to repeat myself or sound like I'm bragging or anything, but gosh it's been 3 years! Time flies loving that Behr of ours! And I realized he has a lot of new fans who weren't around then who might like to hear about it. I tried to get everything down so I could be the 'eyes and ears' for all his fans who couldn't be there or meet him, in my capacity as roving reporter.

He's just a really nice guy, very special. Brings out very devoted and protective feelings toward him, too. I'd hoped meeting him would 'get it out of my system' - but my fondest hope is still to see him again somewhere, some day. sigh. Maybe next time, I'll be calmer and all my senses will be operational! I guess, like the great actor he is - he always leaves 'em wanting more!
