KBs: We're so cool that we don't need a good title!

Old Thread

I saw so many cars with the Aussie flag on it this last week! At least 1/4 of all cars had a flag on it flapping about in the wind as it drove by.

Was it the same where you are?

Yeah there were lots of flags on cars here too.

My Australia Day didn't go as planed. Went to the harbour (no, not sydney, wollongong) as they were having stuff on there and i wanted to see the beach cricket demo as Steve Waugh was going to be there. Did get to see Steve but wasn't able to get a photo or an autograph (did bring anything to get signed) as my sister and her friend M didn't want to hang around. Ended up just looking at the stalls and stuff that were set up and walking all the way backing into town to go to this ice cream place. when we walked back got to see Steve again presenting the kids that played with certicates, tried suggesting that we walk out to the old lighthouse (we have two) but they just wanted to go. And a bit of my arms and back of my neck got a bit sun burnt

It wasn't a good Aussie day if you didn't get something burned, be it snags or your skin.

I think i would have preferred to burn the snags.

We went to Minamurra Rainforrest today and i took my sisters Little Green Man (from Toy Story) that lives in her car along for the trip. And yes i took photos of him along the way and one when we got to the waterfall. I'm such a dork

Had a Jeopard question about Australia last night on TV and I knew the answer: New South Wales LOL, forget what the question was, but that was the answer.

Glad we've helped you with Jeorpardy ML. Great flag Poddy.

re the sunburn TK

School tomorrow but at least the funeral meant that I missed the first couple of days of school and all those boring meetings.

Ohh Mezzi, you ok? Funerals are not fun and the F, U and N should be taken out of the word.

I have a massive boil on my face, so I'm in hiding. Sucks. Hopefully it will be gone by Saturday when I work next - can't be the 'face of David Jones' with an extra eye can I? lol

ML, I believe the answer is 42, but I still don't know the question either...

Question: What is the best state in Australia. **hides from Danie & JC**

I got an email from Joy on the weekend inviting me to her birthday. Its fancy dress, Heros & Villians. Don't think i'll be going as i don't want to get dressed up and well she'll be the only person there i know and i haven't spoken to her in ages.

Its never fun going to funerals Mezz

Oh, you gotta go! Dress up as a LotR character. Gollum perhaps/

That third eye, is it really that bad? Not just like a big zit? Those are bad enough! I once had a boil on my spine in the centre of my back. The nurse hadn't taken one of them off before and she was reading the instructions for this cream she had to heat up in the microwave before applying it to my boil. I noticed it said 20 seconds, she put it in for 2 minutes! I now have a hole in the centre of my back/spine that looks like I was shot and that is a bullet wound. This happened when I was about 12 or 13.

Actually the funeral was really lovely. My great uncle (kinda fill in grandad) died. The family was all there plus parts of the family and other friends we hadn't seen in a long time. The service was long but personal and mostly singing rather than talking. The burial was at a cemetery on a hill and all the young men of the family put the coffin in the grave and then everyone in the immediate family - children and grandchildren - gathered around and held onto their mother/granny while a lovely song played and then one of them said, "Goodbye grandpa" and then we went to granny's house and chatted and caught up.

At the end only the family was left and John played the piano and others just sat at the end of a long exhausting week and all was calm and serene. The grandkids went and bought some pizzas and we all just mellowed. It was a lovely, beautiful day. I am really glad I was a part of it. I think my aunt (the widow) drew a lot of comfort and strength from it. They got married in 1944. Long marriage. Full of love. Aunty had to be in hospital for a week because she broke her femur and Uncle held on until she could come and see him again. They had the day together and sat and he squeezed her hand and then died peacefully in his sleep. Beautiful really.

Sorry about the boil Danie

That sounds like an absolutely lovely funeral mezzi and, if a good time is possible at funerals, a very nice family time together. And even when it's a sad time, it's good to see one another etc.

Oh nothing worse than the horrendous 'thing' on the face. I seem to be going through puberty all over again with my skin, now that I'm getting up to that certain age. Oh well, next comes the wrinkles and that will hide everything, right?

Oh, my, I so flunked the online test to get on Jeopardy last night, I was really humiliated! Well, they don't give you a score (thank G-d), but I didn't have a clue about most of it. sigh. Don't know what I expected, as there are vast categories of human knowledge I totally ignore (sports, politics, geography, current events). LOL, I don't know if I'd even have done well if they had a category on 'facts about Jason Behr' at this point! Oh well, at least I tried. And was humiliated in the privacy of my home instead of in front of millions on television. But what was I thinking!!?

ML at least you tried. I don't think I'd have the courage to do even that. I know so little about so many things. I don't keep up with the politicians and historic people. I know nothing about science or the world. I'd be so hopeless.

Back at school and it's so hot. It always gets hot when it's time to go back to school.
