Showtime. It's not on HBO, is it? True Blood will be on HBO though.

Watched the spectacular diving upset last night when the Australia guy beat out the Chinese from sweeping the entire diving events and getting every gold medal. I was glad he won the gold - go Oz! (but not as glad as he was - he was weeping, he was so happy/surprised). Chinese guy looked pretty stunned - they probably will march him out and shoot him or something, knowing how China operates. Boy there's a sport I could never do in a million years - do a handstand on a cement platform 3 stories high and fling myself off and do all sorts of twists and enter the wanter perfectly! No way! Couldn't even get me out there to stand on the end of that platform! I think I saw Oz win the kayak races too. I was rooting for the countries where my friends live, as well as the US.

I was excited that I caught some of the rhythmic gymnastics - they do all the weird stuff with a long ribbon etc. It's just so graceful and different than the running and leaping and feats of strength of regular gymnastics. They just show the same few sports over and over - swimming and more swimmimg, boxing and more boxing, running and more running. They should give a bit more coverage of the odd bits. Like curling!

Cool about the family castles JC - we probably had some peasant cottages in Eastern Europe in our family background!

I couldn't believe jumping on a trampoline was an Olympic sport! Thought that was something kids did in the back yard. Oh well, I suppose that's what all sports are. Kids' games taken way way wayyyy too seriously.

Oh right it was on Showtime in the US, I get those two mixed up sometime LOL

I recorded it off Showcase here, complete with full credits and promos, turning them into avi's, some of the longer eps I made a bit bigger for better quality.

That is exactly how I feel about sports! Boring kiddie crap for the most part.

Craig, I got Showcase and Showtime mixed-up in my above post. Easy thing to do. Plus, I have had a fair few alcoholic beverages too... Wouldn't know it by my posts? Perhaps you could introduce yourself to the gang here?

I have lured a few of the Aussies here over to the other side once a few months ago, they posted a few times there but they don't like to stray too far from this thread. Which is fine, I still post here and there to keep in touch with the Aussies on .

My Mum and her Mum are having afternoon tea with some rellies tomorrow and touring some of the castles later this week.

Keep an eye out for your shiny new DVDs in the letter box, if it is still standing.

The letter box hasn't been attacked again so its still standing.

Unfortunately i confirmed that i have a broken pipe under the house today. Have been getting some strange smells and gurgling sounds coming out of the kitchen sink and the bath, so i did them with draino thing with them and it cleared up the smell but things still weren't right. And the ground was damp under the house.

Anyway was doing some washing today and when i was outside i could hear water running when the washing machine was doing the rinse cycle and went and looked under the house again and yep, there was a little stream of water running out from the ground. Someones coming on thursday to have a look at it but there is like maybe 40cm clearance under the house where the pipes are so i don't know how they're going to get in there.

Do you have floorboards? Perhaps they might need to remove a few to access the ground underneath?

Good news on the plumbing...nothing was broken just blocked, they put that snake thing down the sewer and now everything is flushing and draining away the way they should

Package hasn't arrived yet, they normally show up on fridays. So tomorrow i should get double surprises in the mail, i'm also getting the new Supernatural book too sent down from the Galaxy bookshop in Sydney, which should just be overnight.

Watched True Blood today, certainly is different from most vampire shows.

Belated happy birthday JC!! My daughter's birthday was just last week. Nice people born this time of year.

I thought about you and your recent moving - college is starting back up and there are a lot of those all around here, so suddenly the streets are clogged with rental trucks and people moving in and out. Lazy neighbor on the corner who never shovelled their walk in the winter packed up and moved away - I was happy to see them go! I hope the new people who move in there own a shovel.

Good news about the plumber snaking things right and it not being a broken pipe! What a pain, to have pipes under the house you can't get to. We had a leaky pipe near the sink and a plumber came and gave a look and wanted $900 to fix it - so Mr ML put on some sort of putty that did the trick! Our house is soo old. We'll have to fix it properly eventually. And now the disposer in the sink died. We're thinking about replacing it, but we don't generally use it much (because the one that died was so old and toothless). Yep, old house.

Saw a little about True Blood - quite a ripoff from 'Twilight' the girl reading minds but can't read the guy (vampire's) mind - just the reverse/copy of Twilight. Probably won't see it, unless I hear really good things about it (like Torchwood) and we rent it from Netflix. Mr ML didn't warm up to Torchwood (too many guys kissing! LOL!) but I like it a lot, better than the current Dr Who, I think. Looking forward to the Season 2 DVD coming out, with Captain John.
