Dexter is fantastic, I don't see how a 'cleaned up' version would work as good. It would be like trying to clean up the language in Sex and the City.

True Blood is good, but the leaked copy had some missing scene, still worth a look though! But be warned there is nudity and a sex scene.

Does boycotting a network ever work?

I don't know if they can do anything for the baby humpback whale, it was left for some reason and it's going to cost 1000s to try and do something without knowing if we're doing more harm than good but I do hope they can do something. Since the Japanese have done all this "research" maybe they can help

'Dexter' was still pretty effective, with a bit less sex, fewer swears, and maybe the bloody bits abbreviated somewhat. It was plenty disturbing anyway! Dexter's dear departed dad was James Remar, who was the baddie in Jason's movie 'Rites of Passage' too (6 degress of Jason).

LOL, they've also done a cleaned up version of the Sopranos and Sex and the City! (Which I guess, minus the sex, would just be 'the City'? Don't know, never watched it.) Mr ML used to rent/watch the Sopranos (we don't get HBO) and the language would simply curl my ears!

Of course they couldn't do that clean up with Deadwood - or there would simply be no dialogue at all!

Aw, poor whale. They are intelligent creatures - maybe they are trying to commit suicide? Or launch some protest effort against our polluting their oceans? We've had a few seals wander way inland from the coasts and have to be rescued/relocated. Always wondered, maybe they were re-enacting evolution and just decided to give living on dry land a go?

I just hate it when they sanitise any show or movie, look at the do-gooders wanting to take smoking out of classic movies.

I watch Top Gear and they had a re-cap special, well in one intro the guys were smoking pipes (I don't know why) well the BBC pixleated the pipes and the guys as they smoked them in the special but the original, which I saw on SBS was not. My question is WHY??? People smoke, yes it's a disgusting habit which luckily I've never done but it's legal.

So back on topic, Anyone watching the BMX today?

Personally I find the idea of BMX racing being part of the Olympics completely weird. I'm sure it's spectacular to watch though. Thinking about it, it does kind of fit better than synchronized swimming.....

OMG i'm depressed. I don't get online for one day and i come back to find that Atlantis has been cancelled

And they put the baby whale to sleep. And they think they may have found the mother down the far south coast, dead, they're going to do test to find out for sure.

JC, no don't have Dexter.

At least i still have Supernatural for two more season.

Kender - Did you see the new SG project? sounds interesting.

also I saw the protests on the news but the fact is even is the government spent the millions it would cost they just don't have any suitable pool to put the baby whale in. It's a sad sight but maybe if the mother died then there was a problem which is the reason it was left behind?

OK i've given up on chat tonight.

I know that practically there was probably no way they could look after the baby whale but its just so sad. As for the mother, if it is her, they said on my local news that they think it was hit by a boat.

I read about SG:Universe awhile back and didn't like what i read, i have no interest in watching what sounds like SG:Voyager. Voyager was the only ST show that i disliked and i did give it a go, i watched five season of it but just couldn't stomache the last two seasons. And what i read about Universe tonight has turned me off it even more with them planing on having a much younger cast and of course the big one...cancelling Atlantis and then annoucing straight away that Universe is being given the go ahead. Way to slap the Atlantis fans in the face.

Sorry you missed me at chat. I was there earlier this week to try and catch you and anyone else who might have dropped by, but I had to see my Mum off on a trip to Mauritius. She is visiting long lost relatives and a few of our old family castles there and in France. They were our castles before the French Revolution drove some members to Mauritius. The castles are now owned by the state, government owned as historical sites I think.

I have sent you some more DVDs full of .avi files. All of Dexter seasons 1 and 2, the first 6 episodes of SGA season 5, 12 episodes of Charlie Jade, some of Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog (Joss Whedon's new venture) and all episodes of Jpod. Plus a few random things here and there.

Colin was a girl I found out today... I can't even talk about it. Sometimes humans suck.

Finished Dexter Season 1 yesterday... can't wait for Season 2.

Sad about Atlantis, but will be looking forward to the new stuff.
