I hate when people stand in the middle of the isle talking, not shopping and just won't move.

Hi Guys, well the auction for the house and land was yesterday. People started arriving at around 9am. The auctioneer arrived and looked at the house and land. People signed up to bid, the neighbours came by, and we began.

First the entire block was up for auction. No bids.

So we went onto the next auction which was the spare block. After a while, just one bid for $700 000. ($50 000 less than what the lowest bid should have been) Then silence. You've got to be kidding me. No-one was bidding. Why do people sign on to bid and then not bid?? There was this group of people at the back looking stoney. There was this other man talking to them telling them how the conditions weren't any good. What!! Then he turned out to be a rival real estate man Dirty little so and so.....

So the block is turned in and we start the auction for the house and land double block. Again no bidders. That other real estate guy slyly hands out his business cards.

So the auction is finished. No-one who registered to bid actually put in a bid of any substance. The people up the back were sulking because they had wanted to put in a bid for the whole block at $600 000 lower than what it was worth and had been told they couldn't. Stupid so and sos. People are weird...

So, the estate agent worked really hard for the rest of the day. She rang the people who had said they were really keen on the block but hadn't turned up to the auction .... huh? Finally she got a deal for the spare block. By the end of the night she said that she had sold the house blocks also......

So, my childhood house is no longer in the family I have 6 months to find another house. (Unless something happens and the deals fall through). It was a big day.

That just doesn't seem right having the house sold out from underneath you

Well, it's been up for discussion for a couple of years now. It wasn't really 'out from under us'. Dad's giving us a portion of the money to help with buying a new place. It's all good.

I hope you sell Lancer. 2 people at an open house is better than some nowadays.

I hate moving, especially where it's several 100 km's. All the packing, making sure things are ready at the other end it a pain and explains why I've been here more than 10 years.

This morning I was standing with a fist full of letters to mail, and a woman set her coffee down on the mailbox, while she rooted through the purse for something. She finally found whatever and saw me standing there, letters in hand, waiting to put them in the box and said... "Oh.. sorry!"

I was expecting the coffee to spill all over the letters and she walks off with no apology.

Although, your story there reminds me of those sort of people who stand in the hallway of a supermarket aisle which makes it impossible for others to get past them, then when you ask them to please move by saying "Excuse me..." they slowly move with an unimpressed look on their faces as if YOU were in the wrong!

Is anyone going to drop into chat tonight?

Hi guys!

Just finished work until Saturday and I'm stuffed.

All this talk of moving... well, we are too. Our lease is up in March and we've started looking for somewhere with 3 bedrooms (one for sleeping, one for guests (and Lucy) and one for my painting and all the collectables0. Cross fingers we get something good.

Well, I'm going to eat as I've just realised that I only had breakfast and some chocolate at work. *sigh*

Wishing you all a very merry Dec 25th! xxxxxxxxx
