| Glad it's going down below 100 finally!! Hope it keeps cooling down and you have some NICE summer weather. ![]() Our hot and humid turned to be cool and dark (and looks like rain any minute) today instead - and I dressed for hot and humid. Yesterday it didn't get that humid either, we had that breeze again, though it was sticky this morning (just to fool me). I went out at lunchtime and couldn't believe it - it was cold out there (again!) Oh well, this weather keeps you on your toes! LOL!Well, we don't eat lobster etc because it's not kosher/we're not supposed to (although I used to eat shrimp cocktail and steamed clams etc when I was a kid, but now I don't). I like fish, well, some fish (mainly swordfish steak) but I can take it or leave it. I guess I like salmon too, if it's done in a tasty way (and isn't bony). Mr ML has a real dread of fishbones, so he can only eat non-bony fish. If he hits one bone, forget it, he's finished! I think they'll have the usual burgers and dogs there, at the picnic, and chicken in different forms, but I saw they also had vegetarian stuff (poor MLette, how many picnics accomodate her being a vegatarian and she's missing it) and something about make your own sundaes/ice cream. I'm looking forward to it, now! I just hope the weather isn't too hot (mid August is usually hot). It'll be nice to see the people my son works with, although the party isn't at his office, it's at another office in a different town they have (with a lot of open land for picnics!).I think they have an office down in New Bedford too. Hope they don't send Mr ML Jr to work there, because that's a long commute. The commute he has now is pretty long - he's talked about getting himself a place close to work, but I doubt that will actually happen. Oh gosh, will this day ever get over! We have to clear the mess out of the dining room, for Mr ML's guys to come over for his card game tomorrow. I might bake something for the cottage (that is, if I decide to go). Maybe I'll make blueberry muffins or something like that. :>__________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| We're suppose to have a couple of days of high 90's and then the temps will be going back up to the 100's again. UGH! Not looking forward to that! ![]() Sorry the weather fooled you today, but isn't that typical of N.E. weather?! It does keep you on your toes, that's for sure! Yes, I knew that shellfish wasn't Kosher because they are the bottom feeders, but it still grosses me out to know that they are the BUGS of the Sea! Ewwww!!! And my nephew Evan, (my Bro's son), also will stop eating the fish if he finds a bone too! So my SIL has to go thru' his fish with practically a fine tooth comb to remove all the bones before he'll even touch the thing to eat. And Evan is 17! I love him dearly, but one would think he could look for his own bones! ![]() And WoW!... Your son's company is even providing food for Vegetarians too! Now that's really something! Most places wouldn't even think of that! What a nice company to include food for all peeps of many diets. Hope you don't have to drive too far getting to this picnic tho'. Speaking of driving far... when is the BIL's Summer Cottage Party anyway? Is it This weekend? I hope you don't end up staying home while your family goes. That would be a shame. ![]() Oh, it's Poker Night tomorrow... what Movie have you chosen to watch, or have you not picked one out yet? There's always 'Twilight' ... You've been saying that you've been wanting to watch that again. ![]() Lainie has been renting all these terrible horror flicks lately, but I won't watch them with her because I don't like horror movies at all. A nice thriller every now and then is alright, but Horror...NO WAY! ![]() I did like 'The Others' with Nicole Kidman... no gore in that! I hate gore!!! And of course I love the Agatha Christie mysteries on PBS and stuff like that. You know, the comfy mysteries is more my speed, but not much more than that. ![]() TGIF tomorrow! ![]() Biggest Hugs to All, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | Wasn't 'The Others' a fabulous movie. Such a wonderful twist at the end. I don't do horror movies. I'm always disappointed when Johnny Depp does another one of his thriller/horror/killer movies coz I never know whether I can watch or not. His new movie Public Enemies is another one I don't know whether I can see. His movie 'Sleepy Hollow' I didn't watch for years even though I wanted to and then me and my friends got brave and rented it and watched in the afternoon so it wasn't dark. Anyway it turned out to be this fabulous farcicle funny comedy take on the whole headless horseman thing and was a fabulous movie and not scarey at all. It's so hard to tell with JD coz he chooses such different movies to be in.That picnic sounds fun ML. That company mustn't be struggling too much in the financial times if it still throws that kind of party. Our Prime Minister made a statement thanking all of the shopoholics of Australia for keeping our economy going Said they were one of the main reasons Australia was doing so well. *shakes head*__________________ | |||

| Yep, I'm doing my bit for the economy, spending money on stupid stuff! LOL! The retail industry is especially hurting, I think, although 'back to school' shopping is coming up soon, so people will need to get clothes and school stuff for their kids. Well, Mr ML who never thinks things through, suddenly remembered he has sciatica now, and he can't sit in a car and drive for several hours! But is he going to cancel it - of course noT, can't disappoint the (weird) mooching sister. He was actually thinking about lying in the back of the SUV and having one of us drive instead, but he barely fits, plus I was going to put the dog back there. At this point, my son and the dog are staying home but we may try to cram everyone in and all go anyway. Will put the hefty sister up front, as the kids won't mind squishing with me in the back as much and the dog in the 'way back.' Of course we can't put the food in the back with the dog, because he'll eat it! I told him we can just make several stops along the way at the rest areas, so he can stretch and stand up. At this point, everybody is cranky and NOBODY wants to go out to the stupid cottage. ![]() Plus it's POURING today, again! Torrential chilly cold buckets of rain. I got sooo soaked walking the dog before work this morning. I was really surprised he wanted to take his usual walk, because when it's raining hard, he usually takes one look and tries to turn tail and go back in the house! I guess he realized if he didn't go this morning, it'd be a loooong day. It took 3 towels to dry him off. Oh I hate horror movies too, or really suspenseful movies that make you jump, like Aliens, which was really more of a 'haunted house' type movie with everybody sneaking around and the Alien kept popping out and scaring them. ![]() I like a good mystery and I don't mind a thriller. But terror and slashing and gore... no way. Well, I watched couple of that type of movie Kyle Schmid was in, but I fast forwarded through them, and only stopped for his scenes. ![]() I never watched that Sleepy Hollow movie for the same reason - I thought it'd be way too scary for me! Who knew? The Grudge didn't scare me because I found those Japanese ghosts totally non-scary, plus I'd followed Jason working on it so closely and for so long, I almost felt like part of the crew and it totally wasn't real for me, it was just Jason in his Japanese movie. :> Good news that Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddy Prinz are having a baby - they've been married a long time (esp in 'Hollywood years'). She's so tiny, I don't know where she's going to fit a baby but I suppose if Nicole Richie can do it... I think that Freddy Prinz is a dope but they seem happy together. I think she's probably not the easiest person to live with herself, seems pretty high maintenance. ![]() I see KH made another raunchy movie. It got pretty tepid reviews today. I'm soo glad Jason didn't marry that one - who seems way higher maintenance/more diva-y than SMG. I feel sorry for that guy she married (who looks a little like Jason but nowhere near as nice, plus he is really hairy, but she waxed him all over). ![]() I chopped my hair even shorter last night - it just felt long and hot and greasy and itchy and I took the haircutting scissors to it last night. Came out pretty good for a spur of the moment job. Managed to swoop everything off the dining room table, so Mr ML is good to go for his company tonight. And then, tomorrow is the stupid cottage trip. ![]() I have a Netflix I rented that I need to watch tonight, and we have to watch Eureka and tape it for Mr ML to watch later. That's about it for plans. I think I'll get up early Saturday and bake some muffins to take to the cottage. Stupid trip... Mr ML told me to remind him, when it comes around next July again, that we're not going to go!! __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| Podmom we've missed you, so thanks for checking in! Sounds like a lot more driving here and there and picking up and leaving off the Vivster. Happy 84th b-day to her! Hope it all goes okay. Walter has turned out to be a great husband so far - she picked a good one. I bet he'll be a terrific daddy too. Rain stopped, warming up, maybe tomorrow will be a nice day after all (supposed to go back to rain on Sunday). Oh well.. rain is a good thing (better than drought, anyway). ![]() Friday, hour and a half to go, and just got back everything I did this morning with changes on it... I really could use a career change just about now (and relocation). Well, got 2 new lottery tickets - maybe one of them will be lucky! Dream on, eh!__________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| Good Morning guys!!!!!! ![]() !!!!I think i haven't posted anything this week...so sorry, i've been a bit lazy lately. Plus, do you remember i said a few weeks ago i was going to a rock festival next week???...well, i've been thinking and i won't be going...a few reasons why...first of all, i can't be bother to be camping for 3 days, have to use ****ty toilettes sharing with thousands of people, travel by coach for 3 hours....& the final reason is that one of the girls i was going with told me the other day that she thinks she has swine flu ![]() . Apparently, she rang her doctor but he can't tell if she has swine flu for sure....but he gave her Tamiflu tablets. Now, she's telling me that she should be clear of the virus in 4 days (i don't believe her). I have a customer who told me that she had mild swine flu and it took her a week and a half to recover. My dilema is that if she's going without being 100% fine; who gurantees me that more people won't be going in the same conditions....and i've got a big risk to get the virus as well. All these things together made me think that it's better get those days i was going to the festival off and have a good rest at home and do things i can't normally do during the week and have more time off to go to the gym. The bad thing is that the ticket for the festival is not refundable and i paid a lot of it...£206 (about $350)...oh well nevermind!![]() ![]() Any of you have been following Comic-Con 2009????...I've been checking the updates on the "New Moon" movie on New Moon Movie and there are very good interviews with the cast...i love the clip with Peter & Nikki...they're so sweet. I've seen a few clips and i have to say that Kristen behaves really weird....some comments were saying that she looked like she was on drugs...to be honnest she annoys the hell out of me with her facial expressions...i don't like her at all. There're 2 sneek peak preview clips (on youtube, so if you don't find them let me know and i will post the links later)....and the film looks pretty good so far. I watched "Twilight" again yesterday...i didn't watch it for a long time!!! Mezzi I'm very happy your sis got to visit you...so you both make each other company...that's great!. Aw i love horror films!!!!...i don't mind about gore, or zombies....got a few horror dvd's at home and i enjoy watch them now and then! And if we talk about economy...here in England there are more and more people losing their jobs and they can't afford to pay the bills....but you see a very different thing on the streets; people buying tons of things and going out for a drink or to a restaurant...so things mustn't be that bad. Wen I hope the weather is not as hot...here thank God is being mild today...sunny but not hot and it's not raining either...yay!!! I can understand you don't like seafood; i know a few people who doesn't...i love seafood....i could eat it everyday if it wasn't so expensive in this country. We have very nice seafood in Spain...my mom used to do a huge portion of seafood for our b-days and specially X-mas...oh man, i miss that! ![]() Poddy Yay!!!Welcome back!!!Have a great time and be careful driving! ML I hope you enjoy that picnuc...oh all that food you mentioned sounded so delicious!!!yum!!!...and i hope the weather is nice enough!!! Lol when you said you are spending money on stupid stuff...i can't stop spending money on dvd's...and yesterday i bought a brand new dvd player/recorder with 80Gigs memory....i'm so glad cos now i can record "The Guardian"...and the quality is amazing!!!..i'm very glad and i just paid £60(around $110). Good luck with the lottery!!!!!! This is the link for a new interview of Simon on last week surfing charity event; the interview is very nice and he looks so good wet!lol... ![]() ![]() YouTube - Simon Baker EXTRA surfing interview ...& I'm going to be naughty and post this clip....i drool all over my laptop everytime i watch this...i won't make any more comments...just watch it YouTube - Simon Baker in Men's Secret Business I hope you all have a great weekend!!!!! | Hi Everyone! ![]() Mezzi, Yes, I really enjoyed 'The Others'. It was a really good movie and I did like the twist at the end! ![]() Lainie just watched another Horror flick last night called 'Haunted Prison' and it had MyrnaLynne's boy in it, Kyle Schmidt,(sp?) and I told Lainie to let me know if he makes it, and I left! LOL! I'm just NOT into Gore! (shiver!) LOL! Yes, Johnny Depp does so many different kinds of movies, but I guess thats what actors do! LOL! His range is so diverse, you just never know what he's going to do next! He's really such a good actor tho'... so he can pull it off. ![]() MyrnaLynne, I'm also doing my part in helping the economy by doing my Christmas Shopping early. I just ordered more stuff... this time for MOTHER. I ordered her these really neat interchangable synthetic gemstone earrings that are magnetic. They have like 12 different colored gemstones that you can change on this pair of earrings and they stay in the earrings because they have magnetic backings. So she'll have a different color gemstone to match every outfit! She should like them... or at least I HOPE she does anyway! They should be coming in sometime next week. I'm anxious to see them because the colors look so pretty, that I hope they are as pretty in person. And I even got MOTHER doing some of her Christmas Shopping early too! LOL! I told her about these personalized necklaces that would be really nice for the girls such as for Lainie, Jenna, and Shannon, so she had me order them for Christmas for them and they just came in this week. They're really nice! I think the girls will really like these necklaces with their names on them. ![]() The Grudge didn't scare me either because I also followed the making of it every step of the way and so I knew everything there was to know about the thing, so I knew what was coming, and wasn't scared at all when I finally saw it! LOL! Now that's a 1st for me! LOL! And yes, I also read that Sarah Michelle Gellar was expecting. Congratulations to her and her Pain IN THE A$$ husband. Yes, they've been married for a Looong time! Shocking Really that they have been too! But really, she's so petite, where is she going to fit that baby?! LOL! Well, I hope she has a healthy baby. ![]() And I'm also VERY GLAD that Jason didn't marry KH! PHEW! I hope Everything goes well today at the Cottage, and safe travels too! ![]() Poddy!!! I'm so glad you posted!!! I was getting concerned!!! (A Rosmom Worries you know?!)I'm glad you've been having a good time! ![]() Safe travels in all where you go, and I'll be looking forward to hearing from you soon! ![]() Gabi, Congrats on the New DVD player! May you have many, many hours of enjoyment out of it! ![]() Thanks for the links, you naughty girl... that one made me blush! LOL! Nice buns tho! ![]() Yes, MOTHER is BIG into Seafood too! And she just doesn't understand with me being raised right on the Coast that I just don't like it. Sorry but I just don't. I don't why, I just don't. ![]() Now my Bro' could just live on it Every day of his life! LOL! Go figure. My kids like it tho', altho' my No. 2 son really isn't into it that much but he'll eat it, but my other 2 just love it! ![]() I'm pretty sure my No.1 son's favorite meal is Salmon Steak, if I'm not mistaken? He orders it Every time he goes out to dinner! LOL! Gee, that's a shame about you having to miss that concert because of your friend possibly having the swine flu! And you paid all that money too! Couldn't you just ask your friend to NOT go and stay home to rest? And you go anyway? You could always try wearing a mask too? Just a thought. ![]() Hope Everyone is having a Great Weekend! ![]() Biggest Hugs to All, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | That clip of SB - I saw that movie when it was shown over here years ago. It was a movie made for tv. Those other 2 guys in it are very well known Aussie actors. Never liked the movie much as the characters never attracted me. The cocky guy who is called a cheat/sleaze just gave nasty undercurrents to the movie (which was the point I guess). No-one really knew who SB was in those days. I don't eat much fish but I do like Salmon but I like it cooked all the way through and most people leave the middle pretty raw. Shame about the concert Gabi. Your friend won't be better but she will be over the quarantine time in the 4 days. Depends how bad she gets it I suppose. Some strains of it are pretty weak. It's cold here today. It's been simply beautiful all last week. Sun's been glorious but it's all cloudy today. Oh well. The sister was talking about Christmas presents the other day. Seems so early. Oh well. She's right I guess. Gosh I remember the fights that went on here when JB was dating KH!!! My goodness the anger ML weren't you a mod then? You would have been right in the thick of it. Gosh there was some hatred around in those days. Never understood it myself. The guy can date/marry who-ever he chooses. It's his life. I saw KH on Letterman the other day. Think it was a show from a while back though. She was talking about her dying (or not) on Greys so it mustn't be too old but her hair was short and brown again. She must've liked that style.__________________ | |||

| Mezzi, I have to do my Christmas Shopping all year long because I just can't afford to do it in just one month, so I do a little Christmas shopping each month and to be honest, I LOVE it!!! Bet my mailperson doesn't tho' as I'm always having packages being delivered! LOL! No, she's really nice about it tho', and always gives me a smile and says: "You're at it again, I see!" LOL! She's really a nice lady. ![]() I've also gotten to know the UPS guy, (who has the personality of a shoe!), and the FED EX guy and he's really nice tho', thank goodness. Most of them say "You're Welcome" when I Thank them except for the UPS guy... he just GRUNTS like an animal or something! Don't know what his problem is?! ![]() And I heard about KH being on Letterman. It wasn't an old interview...it was current. Heard she was whining and complaining about the 1st day back and they worked 17 hrs, poor baby. If you ask me, she's lucky to even have a job! And she couldn't say if she were dead or alive because the eppie hadn't aired yet, so that's what that was all about. Yes, I remember all the fights about KH on the boards, and it's true, Jason could have dated anyone he liked. Don't know why there were fights on the boards tho'... stupid if you ask me. ![]() How long is your sister visiting with you? I hope she's feeling better and less depressed now. | Well, I don't know if I could work a 17 hour day. Mind you, I don't imagine she's on her feet all that time like doctors often are. I think KH is probably lovely but I also think she gets very nervous and comes across a little uppity perhaps. I remember she presented one of the awards a couple of years ago at the Oscars(?) and she was sooooo nervous her whole body was trembling and she could hardly get her words out. She was probably mortified. ![]() Mum used to buy presents all year. It's such a great idea. I don't have many people to buy for anymore so it's no longer a problem. The sister is down until Tuesday. I went in there this afternoon and had a really good talk with her and mentioned reasons I would be seeing a psychotherapist or clinical psychologist. I also talked about paying attention to things that keep cropping up as being clues to the real issues she has. She asked what the point of finding things out was anyway when there was probably nothing to do about it anyway. I said that if her need for control was an issue - as it usually is in eating disorders - then the reasons she needs control could vary widely from an attack while young to needing to rebel because of pride. The reasons are so different that once discovered the way of facing it and dealing would be different but possible. Gosh I hope something went in. It felt good but often conversations I have simply disappear from her memory. Oh well. A little at a time. __________________ | |||

| I'm in the Nursing field, (well, I'm on medical leave right now,) but I used to work double shift quite often because of shortages. I'd work at the Clinic all day long, then have to run over to Urgent Care after work, and work there, so I'd put in some pretty long days. Plus, sometimes my paperwork would really mount up during my reg. Clinic hours, so I'd have to stay sometimes 3 or more hours after Clinic was over just to finish it, and sometimes it just never could be finished! I stayed late a lot just to do paperwork. Peeps don't realize how much paperwork is involved in Nursing. (sigh) I LOVED my patients, (well most of them as I did Family Practice), but the paperwork was a nightmare! ![]() My Aunt, ( MOTHER'S sister has an eating disorder too. And has had it for years, and is now 70 years old. She only eats once a day, on a small saucer, then drinks black coffee the rest of the day. But with her, she's a Control Freak, so that's her issues. It's taken it's toll on her body tho' because it's done a number on her bones and she needs hip replacements, but refuses to get them, so she just lives her life limping and in pain. Plus she has osteoporosis, so she's hunched over too. She's sooo stubborn it's not even funny. ![]() It's too bad that your sis won't really listen to you, but I understand how frustrating that can be, because my Aunt wouldn't and won't listen to anyone either about her eating disorder, and even refuses to believe that she even has an eating disorder! (sigh) It's hard to help people who don't want to be helped. (sigh) I hope your sis listened to you... or at least listened to Some of it. Like you said, "A little at a time." I do have a lot of peeps to buy for, so Shopping year round works for me, and I do love it too! And it gives me more time to find just the right thing for each person on what they'd like too, so I'm not rushed either. It works for me. ![]() Biggest Hugs, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | Bare-bum Baker boy!! Didn't see that coming! ![]() He is a lovely person, helping paralyzed people and doing nice things. Nice nice man. ![]() Well, miracles do happen sometimes! I'd gotten all resolved to be nice to the weird sister and make the best of the trip to the cottage - and she called up around 10, when she was supposed to show up, her voice all froggy, to say she was sick and wasn't coming! I tried to sound appropriately sorry and disappointed, while I actually was doing the happy dance! So it was just us 4 and the dog rode in the back seat between the kids, even though I brought a mat for him and put it in the back of the SUV (We put him there on the ride home, so he could stretch out/lay down and rest). It was a long and exciting day for him! I don't think he enjoyed the road trip that much - think he was nervous/didn't know where we were going (maybe he thought we were driving him back to the animal shelter to give him up again), and then there were a lot of people there, including my nieces 3 kids, and the one boy started scratching Elmo really roughly, like with his fingernails as hard as he could on his chest, and the dog didn't appreciate it and snapped at him. Tried to bite him a few more times while we there too. sigh. But he was fine with my niece's teeny tiny dog - weighed 5 lbs, she'd shaved all the hair short, so it looked so small. My dog's tail was bigger than their whole dog. But she was tiny and a girl dog, and they were fine together, and he was fine with everybody else, except this one stupid boy. sigh. I don't think I'd bring him to the cottage again, because he didn't have that good a time, and it was a pain as somebody had to hold his leash the whole time and keep him out of mischief. I got up early that morning and baked blueberry muffins to bring with us, and walked him a few times before the trip, plus we stopped on the way so Mr ML could stand up and stretch his back - his sciatica really made driving that long uncomfortable. He didn't stop at all on the way back though. It's about a 2 hr trip each way. I konked out in the car, all that country air and travelling. ![]() And I didn't swim, either! We brought towels, and suits, and flipflops and never went down to the beach at all. Sat on the dock and looked at the baby fish a bit. Just didn't do anything. We did stop at the cool country store on the way there, took turns holding the dog outside. Kids got ice cream, I bought a cool t-shirt with all sorts of flowers, bugs, birds on it, including lady slippers, that I really love, and got some old timey candy. That's really the best part of going way out there, that store. I didn't even eat that much at the cottage, had a couple of pieces of chicken and a few potato chips. ![]() Oh well.. that worked out after all, and is out of the way and didn't turn out to be a disaster. Mr ML's family is nice but I still think it's stupid to drive 2 hrs to get together. Oh gosh Wen 'Haunted Prison' is really a creepy one! I fast forwarded through that - but Kyle does survive, him and two other kids at the end, and get rescued by a boat. He was a pretty good character in that one, the nice/smart kid. He isn't so lucky in that movie with the evil trucker (blanking on the name - Joyride 2?) And I'm not sure he survives Deep Cove either (or whatever they ended up calling that one - they keep changing the title). I don't think that one has come out yet. Aaron Ashmore and Hayley Duff are in it with him so it might be pretty good. Kyle so often plays the kind of bad/wise kid in these things - I guess it's his impish features. He's been keeping busy, which is good. I saw Ivan Sergei in 'Warehouse 13' and realized he hasn't been in anything for awhile, and he used to have his own show. He was on Crossing Jordan for awhile. A very tall and handsome guy. Acting is such an up and down business. I can totally understand why Peter Fancinelli is cashing in on his popularity because of Twilight, going to conventions, making as much as he can from it while it's hot!Well, I too the plunge and signed us up for that cruise in September - we're going! I'm pretty excited about it. Might as well do stuff now, before we're too old and feeble to go and do anything. And the kids were cool with us going for a week (and having to share minding the dog and the fish while we're gone). Going back to Bermuda, which I didn't like all that much (the roads are narrow and scary to travel on!), but this time no bossy sister and I can sign us up to do things I think we'd enjoy and didn't do last time (zoo/aquarium and glass bottom boat). I'm tempted by those diving helmet things under the water, but I'm afraid I'd get claustrophobia and freak out so - probably better not. Also was tempted to go swim with dolphins, but surprisingly it didn't appeal to Mr ML at all, and it might be more strenuous/athletic than I'm up to doing these days. Woohoo! Something to look forward to. Two things, Mr ML Jr's picnic next month, and the boat trip the month after. ![]() gabi swine flu is no joke, although a lot of cases have been mild, about 700 people have died from it in the US - that's terrible you paid so much money, though. Maybe a mask is the way to go. I don't know - it is something to worry about. It sounds pretty stressy with camping and potties and all that. Oh gosh it's hot and humid today. Weather yesterday was great for the cottage. I think we're getting thunderstorms later tonight. And we had that torrential rain on Thurs night and Friday morning - big big soaking rain! Christmas shopping little by little is very sensible way to go, as it's hard to think of stuff and afford stuff all at once, at the last minute. LOL, the cottage thing was ostensibly to celebrate July birthdays, so his brother John and 11 year old niece Fiona had birthdays. Mr ML was all "Oh, I'll have to pick something up for her," and I put $5 in a birthday card, and got a $5 lottery ticket and card for his brother (they had agreed just to give cards and lottery tickts, not everybody have to get presents). Anyway - his brother got a $400 winning ticket and some smaller ones! That was pretty lucky. They gave the littel girl lottery tickets too, which I didn't think was right, because kids aren't supposed to gamble under 18. I think she won maybe $4 or $7 - would have gotten more money if she just got cash. ![]() Wen that's sad your aunt has an eating disorder and it's wrecked her bones and she doesn't even admit there's a problem. well, there's no lack of stubbornness in your relatives! ![]() And it's hard mezz but maybe your sister heard some of what you had to say. If you have problems, and they have a root somewhere, and you figure out what caused it and get over it/deal with it, maybe the problems will get better. Oh poor Mischa Barton - just read that she's turned into the character she played on the O.C., drinking and drugging and all messed up. She's only 23. That's so sad. Oh well, guess I should go scare up some lunch - Mr ML wanted to go up to Trader Joe, I was so surprised, so we got some cool stuff there. | MyrnaLynne, I'm glad you lucked out, (sorry for the weird sis tho' for getting ill), that she didn't end up going after all! It sounds like you all had a nice time anyway, inspite of all the aggrivations planning the trip to get there. It seemed to have all worked out OK. And I agree with you... the family shouldn't have given your niece lottery tickets... they definitely are NOT for children! What were these people thinking?! ![]() Your BIL came out quite Lucky tho! WoW!... a $400 winning ticket! Now that's nothing to sneeze at! Good for him! ![]() Your new shirt sounds really nice! I had a plant once... 'pink lady slippers' and Loved it so much, but I just couldn't keep it alive. Was Really sad about that too. ![]() Sorry to hear about the agressive kid with Elmo tho'. Some kids are just like that... no matter how much you tell them things, they just don't listen and do what they want, Like pet the dog too roughly, and almost end up getting bit... several times! Some kids are just too dense to learn! ![]() Glad to hear that Elmo got along with the other little dog, altho' it being a little girl dog I'm sure helped. Teddi doesn't like boy dogs, but he likes girl dogs... like he doesn't like Bandit, but loves Molly to pieces! It didn't help that the 1st time Teddi met Bandit that Bandit growled at Teddi and that set Teddi off barking at him, and Bandit was standing behind me, while shaking and growling at Teddi, (Mr. Brave) LOL! So, we keep the two separated, just in case. I don't think Teddi would hurt Bandit, but I'm afraid Bandit might try to nip at Teddi and then there'd be trouble! ![]() That's Great that you've decide to take a Cruise to Bermuda! I hope you have a Wonderful time! And without Bossy Betty, it really should be a Fabulous time! Now DON'T TELL Bossy Betty that you are going or she might want to horn in on your trip and then your trip will be ruined!!! ![]() Gosh, the temps weren't bad here the last couple of days,... high 80's, low 90's, but today it's going to be 105*! GAH! And the rest of the week, it will be teetering between 103*-106*! I want the nice 80's back! ![]() Boy, you got that right!... Stubborness Does run in my family! Between MOTHER and her sister, those two take the cake on Stubborness! ![]() That was nice, that Mr. ML wanted to go to Trader Joes! I love it there, but don't get to go too often... it's in the next town over, and I don't venture over there often unless I have a Dr's appt over there, or a specific reason to go, but I won't make a special trip just to go to TJ's. I more or less multi-task when going over to the next town over. ![]() Oh, and I did walk in a few times while Lainie was watch 'Haunted Prison' and she kept giving me body counts... Just lovely! I just don't know why she can stand those movies? ![]() Biggest Hugs, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | I just was reading an article yesterday that women are the biggest fans of horror movies! Go figure! That teen boys like them and then outgrow them, but women like them a lot and don't stop. Well, not ALL women, that's for sure! Not the jumpy ones! LOL, speaking of jumpy, did I tell you guys that a guy at work came to thank me for something and came up behind me and tapped me on the back, when I had my back turned and headphones on (for listening to dictation) and I SHRIEKED and like jumped 6 inches up off my chair. I was so embarrassed and there he was, bringing me a really nice little chocolate candy thing as a thank-you for helping him with something (and he'd offered to pay, but I said 'no charge' because it wasn't that big a thing, and I didn't do that much on it). ![]() They had back to back Harry Potters on last night and I sat and watched both of them - second one had Rob P and I was all happy to see him and making jokes, during Dumbledore's eulogy that he would say "... and he was a really good looking boy..." It's amazing how totally forgettable those Harry Potter movies (and books) are for me. I read all the books, saw the movies, but when I watched the movies again, I only remembered bits and pieces of it. Ugh, Ralph Fiennes made such a creepy Valdemort, I don't know what they did with his nose (where they put it)! LOL! Oh, and you know, I always thought there was something creepy about Dr Who, David Tennant, and could never put my finger on it - but he played the weasly/evil Barty Crouch Jr (the one who pretended to be Madeye Moody via polyjuice potion). Anyway, wasn't only Rob who went on to bigger things after Harry Potter, David Tennant was in there too. I think Rob was around 16 when he did Harry Potter.JK Rowling really does have a fabulous imagination and those were great books (but no Twilight of course.. :>). And the movies were quite magical - but for some reason, totally forgettable! I watched a little of the stuff from ComicCon, with Rob and Taylor in their coordinated plaid shirts, and Kristen with her Goth Joan Jett look from her current movie. People were posting mean stuff about her looking like a drug addict but, doh, she was done up like that to play Joan Jett. Rob seems so much more grown up than the other two, talking very seriously and eloquently about things, although I couldn't hear most of what he said! LOL! Well Wen your cool temperatures are our hot weather! It's supposed to be 80s-90 this week and it's soooo humid this morning I felt like a wet rag. I hate humidity (and sweating)! Ugh. I got in to work early this morning, just to get to the AC sooner. That nephew that Elmo didn't like isn't learning disabled exactly, but there's definitely a little something wrong with him. And their mother, our niece, is such a kook! She just has a whole lot of (odd) ideas and she's very strident and adamant about them. Plus she is always after the kids about what they eat at every family gathering, which is very annoying. You know, don't eat any more of that, and I want you to eat 2 bites of this, etc. Give the kids a break!I was glad the dogs got on okay, although I think the girl dog growled at him when we first got there. She's such a tiny bit of a thing, it was very amusing, but she could SPRING up onto the sofa and down, no problem. She LEAPED up onto my lap for a minute and then got down again - hardly weighs anything at all. Cute. We finally got the AC in the window last night, but then it cooled off so I didn't go in there. I think I'll be hiding out in there tonight. MLette and I took a trip to the mall yesterday, but it was even kind of muggy in there. Maybe they were saving money by not having the AC on too strong. Trader Joe is in the next town from us too, and it's a bit of a hike, so we don't go there that often. But Mr ML really likes these graham crackers they have, and I like their big cans of dog food (although the price has gone up on that) and there are some veggie things MLette enjoys. It's expensive, but the stuff is very nice. But then we didn't end up grocery shopping for the regular stuff, so we'll have to go tonight. Oh well - it'll be cool there! I think my Twilight mania is starting to fade, which is kind of sad. Almost done reading 'Breaking Dawn' again. They are at the big battle/confrontation. Her books are so visual, too, so descriptive, I can see how some scenes will translate to the movies, and that one will be terrific (once they get past the whole monster baby thing - how will they do Reneseme also?) I always picture Renesemee looking like Shirley Temple. :p August 14 the 'Time Traveler's Wife' movie comes out - another one I couldn't see how they coujld possibly put on film. Eric Bana and Rachel McAdam. I didn't imagine Eric Bana as that guy, but I guess he was kind of skinny and Eric Bana has sort of a skinny face. Scottie thought Jason would have been perfect for that role. He looks good nekkid and is a fast runner. ![]() P.S. The fancy pocketbook showed up and I don't like it at all. It's way too big and has a clip on shoulder strap but no place to clip it on, and it's really skinny and has all these compartments that are too small to be useful for anything... sigh. I think I'm mailing it back. Disappointing. Love the color and the material but it has to have the right compartments/set up for my stuff! sigh.__________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 07-27-2009 at 12:42 PM. | |||
