He's a pretty awesome surfer! LOL, I watched the one 'Smith starting his day' too - nothing like beer, eggs, moldy lomein noodles and a big guy trying to kill you, to start off the day right!

Sorry to hear 'Push' stank - we're going to probably watch it tonight.

Poddy busy travel schedule as usual. I know what you mean - I was so nervous with MLette coming home so late, even though she parked right out front and ran into the house.

Your beach place is so lovely! Love the blue color too - we painted our house blue, too.

Good luck with the party and cramming all those people, musicians, etc, into a little place!!

Hey JOFs,

I had to stop in and say hello to all, and "great thread name, Podmom!" Also, Ocean City looks beautiful and fun. It makes me think proms would have been so romantic at that palace (not sure what it is called).

MyrnaLynne's comment "Syfy (hurts my teeth to type their 'new improved' network name)" has me That really is a horrible name. I'm so disappointed that they changed it.

Wen, so glad to hear you're feeling better!

Hi Gabi, nice to meet you!

BBW so good to see you!

How are you, how is life, etc?

Sometimes on this thread we start to feel like we're talking to ourselves...

so it's nice to see a friendly face.

ML At least i hope you like "Push"...maybe it's just me!. I think Simon's a pretty good surfer too....how sexy he looks surfing, lol.

Btw, i just got today "Sex & Death 101" with Simon on it. It has high sexual content but it's a funny movie. He plays a business man just about to get married when his secretary opens an e-mail with 101 women names. That list has all the women names that him had and will have sex with ...even if he doesnt want to...i have to say that he's so charming and funny in this movie. i love it!. There's a scene where he has a three some where he looks SPECTACULAR!...my heart almost collapsed!. The custome department of the movie deserves an award for giving Simon the best clothes he have wore in any of his movies...absolutely charming!

Well gals i hope everyone is doing fine!I'm a bit tired after 5 days in a row going to the gym.

Tons of love!!!!!

I didn't realize Simon Baker had done so many things. Then again, I really wasn't aware of him, until he did 'The Mentalist.' Mm, nice robe.

LOL, this is for my Twilight gals:

Thanks ML we are so lucky to have found it.....if it hadn't been for my mother who we bought it for we wouldn't have it....I do try to remeber that when I am being complainy thanks for the Twilight pic You guys.....you know the clip from the MTV movie awards has me a little nervous.....it looks so polished and the vamp house looks so different....I'm worried I won'tlike it as much as the first. although the run across the plaza Itily scene looks great. Any thoughts?

arrg Wen...frustrating are you sitting in the heat? I'll bet your son really appreciates you doing that for him. Well the grandaughter isn't a 4th baby...just rightaround it....I think the2nd....but they had a combo party Shewas 4 Yes the moon has been lovely....and happy

I don't know why, but I just don't want to read 'The Host'. I guess because it's so different, scifi and not, well 'Twilight.' Oh well, you know me and my 'mental blocks' Maybe someday I'll get over it.

Here's another one that I liked, too, with Rob in Germany:

I think Jason has a motorcycle jacket like Rob's, only in a more carmel color.

You know, I didn't even notice, but of course it's a different vampire house in 'New Moon', because the other one was a real house in Seattle area someplace. Actually I thought the first house was a lot smaller than I envisioned it from the books, so maybe the movie 2 house will be bigger/more like I pictured it being. Edwar's room in the first movie was pretty small.

I didn't like the CGI werewolf changing, I thought it looked cartoon-y. And cartoony wolves will be a big problems with New Moon (and the rest of the movies), imho.

:> I'm re-reading Breaking Dawn - Bella is just digging the new vampire-ness. Such a great story! (duh) What an imagination Stephenie Meyer has.

Didn't get to watch 'Push' yet - I think Mr ML might have returned it already - the new stuff he's renting has a 2-day turnaround (which is ridiculous and why I get Netflix... grumble).

He's scraping and re-painting my kitchen ceiling (his week off is over soon) so my kitchen has paper and plastic sheet draped here and there and he moved some stuff out of there too. It looks better already (the paint, not the mess).

We watched another episode of 'Blood Ties' last night - a very good one. I watched the extra stuff too, some behind the scenes stuff from Space channel in Canada. It's so funny how different the actors are when they are being themselves and not in character, especially Kyle, because he's the young cute boyish guy he is, when he's himself, and when he's Henry he has all that power and gravitas etc of a 400+ year old vampire decended from royalty - he's a really good actor. Christina Cox was a little fluffier as herself and not so harda** as Vicki, and Dylan Neal was his charming and urbane self, not the complaining/ disbelieving/ disliking-Henry cop he plays. It was interesting. Fun series. Too bad it's over. I can't wait for the 2nd set of DVDs to come out - hope it has a LOT more 'extra stuff' (I love that stuff).

The sun is shining! It might actually be a (relatively) warm day today and tomorrow.

Oh, my 'Last International Playboy' DVD showed up yesterday - but I didn't really care, because we already went to see the movie. Guess I should look and see if it has any 'extra stuff' on it.

I think everyone is having doubts about "New Moon" and it has to be cos it's another director and in my opinion all those changes in the new film won't be good. I really liked the old Cullen's house. And i agree with ML i don't really liked the human/wolf transformation.
Btw, i've watched another 2 episodes of "Blood Ties" and i love it even more....have to get some more time during the week to keep on watching...days run so fast!!!!...i think the second season will be on dvd very soon.

Poddy!!!!I have "The Host" and i've read like 2 chapters and it didnt hook me up...i suppose i like all this vampire stuff toom much and i dont find interesting anythingelse, lol.

ML I wish i could watch "The last international playboy"...i could order the dvd but here in England we have another dvd region; while you got region 1 on The US we have region 2 in Europe....which i find very annoying...dvd regions suck!. Too bad Mr ML returned "Push"...i wanted to know your opinion

Yeah Simon have done tons of movies...a lot of them non well known but he's such a great actor...now i'm watching his show "Smith" where he plays an assassin...a hot one,lol...the show rocked...don't know why it got cancelled...Johnny Lee Miller is on it as well...great cast!
I hope you can watch these clips. The first it's a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon where Simon teaches him how to surf(Simon looks very young and fresh) and the other ones from his movie "Sex & death 101"...very funny to see him on those circunstances!!!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry to be MIA, but between broken A/C units at my son's, and helping MOTHER, and my server being OUT during a couple of nights (Grrrr!!!!), I haven't had the chance to post! Talk about Major Withdrawal!

Anyway, Thanks Everyone for all the Pics and Links! Very Nice!

Love the Rob pic from Germany! Never seen it before!
And "NOM! NOM! NOM!" was a cute heading!

Looks like my Bro' is actually coming down to with his family to see MOTHER tomorrow! Will wonders never cease?!

And my no.1 son has invited us all over for a BBQ so it will be a nice day at his house tomorrow.

Poddy, You just Crack me Up with your New Saying... You're not a quitter!

And even if your great-niece's Bday isn't actually on the 4th, she still gets the benefits of it since it's sooo close! What fun to be born so close tho'!

And 4 is such a Great Age too! No more baby, and can talk your ears off! LOL!

I had Great conversations with my 4 yr old patients! LOL!

MyrnaLynne, I read that Stephenie Meyer made $30 million so far this year! Not too shabby to say she was just a housewife from AZ who had a dream.

You NEED to Write Something! I'm sure it would be Wonderful and maybe you'd make a few million on the side!!!

Gabi, How are you liking your New Place? You never really said. I'm sure you're all settled in by now, right? Is it closer to work than your old place?

I hope you're getting along really well in your New Place. And thanks for all the Simon pics and links! He's a real cutie!
*********************************************************************************************
Oh, I heard they are making a 'Dark Shadow's Movie' Starring Johnny Depp! Don't know how I feel about him playing Barnabus, but we'll see.

Hope Everyone has a Great Weekend!

Biggest Hugs to All!
Wen

Wen I missed you!How you feeling?.Yeah, i'm all settled at my new place; i really like it...i live in a big house, we're 7 people...most of them are quiet...mostly the guys...the 2 girls are a bit loud...i really like to have peace and quiet on daily basis...these girls apparently don't work so they have a lot of time in their hands...anyway, it's fine i like it in here...specially my new tv and my new Simon Baker dvd's. Btw i just finished watching his show "Smith" and omg i love his character...he plays Jeff a crazy assassin specialized in weapons and his best friend is Jonny Lee Miller who plays Tom. They put the humour in the show...i loved some of the episodes more than others...specially the ones Simon's driving these beautiful motorbikes and dating these girls, he's like a Casanova....and i have to say he looks damm good!

Well guys going to chill now liying in my bed and watch the repeat and the new episode of "The Guardian"...today it's a little bit later on tv....

Tons of love to y'all

Sorry I was MIA because my new computer came on Friday! Mr ML Jr was sooo cranky setting it up, but I think he was just tired. He's been pretty crabby all weekend so far. Anyway, that's why you haven't heard from me. I don't like the new monitor at all, it's a flat screen, rectangular and really wide - bizarre and too different. I've been looking at square, TV-shaped computer monitors since they were invented! It's so wiiiiide and narrow. Bizarre monitor I bought.

We spent a lot of time studying all the stuff I had on the old computer and what we needed to move over to the new one (of course all the photos of Jason were the most important!) :> - he thought he could just hook up the old hard drive but they were incompatible, but I cleverly brought home one of those 'thumb drive' things from work and it's the first time I've had any use for it! You can put a whole lot of stuff on it and transfer it someplace else. Anyway, here I am on my new computer - do I sound different?

I'm very lucky to have my own in-house 'IT' department. Don't know why he's been so cranky though.

about Kristen being pregnant with Rob's love baby. I mean, come on she may be 17 but I hope she's one of the few people in Hollywood to go to the 'safe sex' lecture!

The Michael Jackson stuff is getting a bit much for me too, but then I never was a fan and then just thought he was sad and creepy. I just feel bad for his children, mostly.

gabi cool that you are checking out 'Blood Ties.' Wen I can't believe they'd remake 'Dark Shadows' except they are trying to cash in on 'Twilight' Mr ML bought a disk of Darkshadows for cheap, because he sort of liked it when he was young, but he watched some of it and said it was incredibly boring. Some shows don't hold up with time.

Oh Jonny Lee Miller was just 'Eli Stone' and a very likeable character in that one. He was married to Angelina Jolie when he was young, the poor sod.

It would be very hard to live with 7 people though! I think roommates are tough. Especially if they don't work! How do they manage that? (Must be nice!) I shared a flat with a roommate and she worked days and I worked evenings and she just annoyed the heck out of me, with her boyfriend, his smelly dog, her pot smoking, her leaving butter melting on the stove, tuna in the mayo jar, peanut butter in the jam - she was a slob. Plus she moved in with this hideous green velvet/black carved furniture that looked like it used to belong to the Adams Family! I was never so happy to get my own place (with the future Mr ML).

Wen glad you had a nice time with the son and bbq and nice your brother is finally deigning to visit his Mother (cough cough). Thanks, I would love to write a book like Stephenie Meyer and make a few millions. Heck, a few hundred thousands would be nice.

My neighbor at the corner had her grandson visiting. I didn't even know she had a grandson and there was this adorable kid of 5 or 6 or so with a mass of blond curls and those snaggly teeth they get when the big front teeth are coming in. Was having some grandkid envy. I was just saying to Mr ML this morning I don't think we're going to ever get any grandkids, or at least not until we're way too old to be of any use with them/be able to enjoy them. Not unless I get some new knees and hips to chase after them with. sigh.

Also saw a lady changing her baby in the ladies room at the store with her Mom and they were fussing over this little baby and talking to her in those wonderful mother/grandma voices - it was very nice.

Poddy that'll be you someday soon!

Yeh, gabi the different region thing between US and UK is a pain. They put 'Blood Ties' out in UK first and I couldn't buy it, had to wait for a North American version, even though the show was made in Canada, so why didn't they make us one first? Just couldn't figure it out at all.

Hm, better post this and see if it goes/I don't lose it.

PS Weather is completely perfect today - warm sun, cool breezes. We ran around like crazy and did all sorts of errands today. Tried the coin sorting machine they put into the main branch of our bank - Mr ML cashed in about $60 of change he had in a jar! And I got rid of all the disreputable looking pennies I pick up in the park. I hate that people just throw pennies away on the ground like that. MLette's watch died so we went on the quest for the perfect watch (she is really fussy). She usually buys the really cheap ones, like $12 at Target, and just gets a new one when it dies, but she couldn't find what she wanted and had to get a bit nicer watch this time. Plus she got it at Sears and they had a watchmaker there who took the band in for her for free, so that was a good deal. She also got a new pocketbook, a pretty one. Wouldn't mind one like it myself! We got a new summer blanket for the bed as the last one fell to shreds. I think my parents gave it to us and they got it as a gift for opening some account at a bank, so you can imagine how old they were. Or maybe they were the blankets I took to college. Just tossed a little spread we used that a roommate gave me after college (and it was probably old then) so... time for some new blankets! And they were 'buy one, get one free' so we got 2 blankets. All the shops are desperate for customers. I read that most people, 60%, are cutting back on clothing purchases to save money because of the bad economy and that spells doom for retailers! But I think the economy might be turning around soon (I hope). LOL, we're doing our best to keep it going!

Hi Everyone!

BBW! I'm sooo sorry I missed you up there! Please forgive me!
Yes, thank you! I'm feeling sooo much better!
I'm 99% better on the left side of my spine, and 95% better on the right side of my spine, but I can live with 5% of the pain on my right side, better than the 95%, that's for sure!

My Surgeon told me to see him in a few weeks, but when I called to make the appt, he's booked out until Sept.2nd! These Dr's crack me up! LOL! Sure, see him in a few weeks, when it takes months to get an appt to see him! LOL! So, Sept. 2nd it is! LOL!

I hope Everything is Great with you!

Gabi, My Goodness! You sure live with a LOT of Peeps! But as long as you all get along, then that's Great! Sorry the Gals are kind of loud, but hopefully your Simon Baker DVD's can drown them out!

Roomates never really worked out for my son, or DIL, when they were on their own, and now my niece is having some issues with her roomate that she just moved in with!

Seems that her best friend that she moved in with, (both moved in together for the 1st time from living at home), are having issues because now her friend is having her BF practically living there and my niece can't take it!

He sleeps over practically EVERY night, and is there after work Every night so my niece told her roommate that she didn't like him living there, and the girl got into with her... now they are fighting about it and my niece is all upset. And they have been friends since Grade School!

Poor kid, she doesn't want to move back home when she just moved out 2 months ago!

So, it's really tough to live with other peeps, so I wish you all the Best!

MyrnaLynne, Congrats on the New Computer!
And you'll get used to your new Monitor... Or I hope you do anyway! LOL!

No.2 son got Lainie a new monitor for Christmas like the one you described like yours, and she eventually got used to it, but really didn't like it at 1st because it was sooo different from her old one, but now she loves it!

And yes, ITA, it's Wonderful to have your own personal IT person at home... as I have my son too! (No.2 son) Sorry to hear that your's has been a bit grouchy tho'... maybe he's just tired from work and not sleeping well? That could be the reason why?

And yes, When I heard about them making the Movie 'Dark Shadows', I immediately thought that they were trying to cash in on the whole 'Twilight' thing too! I just PRAY Tim Burton ISN'T involved! I can't stand his films!

I dearly LOVED 'Dark Shadows' as a kid and Loved Barnabus to pieces, but HATED Quentin to Death! LOL!

Sounds like you had a nice day Shopping! That's really nice!

I had a nice day too, inspite of ALL of my DIL's family being at the BBQ too today! She has a VERY LARGE family! And they don't just bring themselves, they bring OTHER peeps along with them, which is VERY RUDE if you ask me!

And the ones that said that couldn't come, ended up coming after all, and my son was worried that there wouldn't be enough of food, but it was like the fishes and loaves, there was enough to go around by a miracle! It was amazing!

I'm not fond of her family's LOUDNESS, as my family is so small, and we aren't loud peeps, but her family takes the cake on being LOUD! They literally hurt my ears! They don't talk to one another, they YELL at one another as normal conversation.

Most of them left after they ate, in which I was glad, so it quieted down a bit, and we could hear ourselves speak to one another without having to yell too, which was nice.

And don't you know that I forgot all about Eli Stone coming on tonight, and forgot to watch it! Hopefully I can catch it on their website and watch it.

Hope Everyone is having a Great Weekend!

Biggest Hugs,
Wen

Oh gosh, I put the new blanket on the bed without washing it first, and a shower of blue fuzz/cotton dust fell off of it, onto the dark blue sheets! I don't know what I was thinking, we always wash everything first. Guess I thought washing a big blanket would be a pain, plus we had a thunderstorm last night and it's all wet out there (again), so it's not like I could hang it out to dry. SIGH!

Well, I figured out how to reset the new monitor so photos I put on it aren't stretched out like some funhouse mirror but plunk normally in the center - that was an improvement. Yikes, I put some pix on the desktop and they were all stretched out - it was creepy looking! Also looked at the version of Word I have, and it must be what Mr Dr Boss has, because it's totally different (and confusing). Gosh I hate Microsoft! Mr. Boss calls me up now and then and asks how to find something/do something on his computer, when he has a different version of Word and I have absolutely NO IDEA! Because I'm not looking at what HE is looking at. It totally drives me nuts, and frustrates both of us that I can't help him (plus wastes a lot of time for nothing... grumble).

Oh Wen that's a problem when the roommate's boyfriend moves in, as she didn't sign up for TWO roommates, and them being all lovey-dovey all the time around her etc. Not sure how that would work out the best. As you say, she'll probably end up having to move out which is unfair.

LOL, Mr ML is one of 10 children and his family is also LOUD and it took a lot of getting used to, as my family is small. They do get loud when they are all talking together. That is the rudest thing I ever heard, to bring friends along with you (uninvited) to somebody else's party!

The annual party at my brother-in-law's cottage by the lake (way the heck across the state) is coming up in a few weeks. Usually 4th of July, but this year he had other plans and changed the date. We're all kind of looking forward to it. I hope the weather cooperates and I can take a swim. If I get in the water once in the summer, I'm doing pretty well. We are just not water people/beach goers. Although I wanted to bring the dog with us this time - it's a long day for him to be alone - but then I'll be stuck watching him the whole visit.

LOL, your spine doctor is like when I called for a mammo appointment - I think it was a 6 month wait, or something ridiculous. But luckily we're old and time goes by fast!

It's supposed to be 80 every day this week. Mr ML and MLette (who like heat) will be happy.

Hi guys sorry I've been MIA. Now I'm on holidays. I've lazed for 2 days and am feeling more human. Had the sister down for the last 2 weeks and I love her being here and all but I think the cloud of depression simply flattens me. I'm so near the line of melancholy anyway it probably konks me over the line. Dad and The Step were down to move some furniture also which put the sister in a spin seeing as one of the reasons she'd come down was to have a rest from them Aren't we a pair. We love them dearly (well dad anyway, and I do care about the Step) but they are just so not tuned in with us. But I'm hauling myself back

I really need to do some exercise. I have a stiff lower back and my knees hurt from being so sedentary. Must go for a walk today. And I need to tidy up the kitchen. Wish I had someone here to do it for me lol. Oh well. I'll just have to pretend to be grown up for a while. I answered the phone this morning and it was one of those charity people. They said, 'well hello, are either of your parents there?' I love it when they think I'm too young to talk to, means I get to hang up hehehe

I was very brave and went to an afternoon tea on Sat. I only knew one lady there and even her I don't know all that well. Turned out I was sitting next to a girl who was the year below me in uni and remembered me. Isn't it a small world. I'll try and get in contact with her and do something during the hols. She's a beader so we can have a beady afternoon.

Watched some of those U Tube thingies Gabi, couldn't be bothered to sign up to watch the 18+ one though. Sophie Monk She's an Aussie gal who got her break in Pop Stars. She now does 'acting'. She gets herself some classy roles dun she I don't think she's ever done anything other than a **** and bum bit. I guess she spent so much time working on getting a skinny bod that now she just shows it off as much as possible. (meeeooow) I dunno, I just don't find the naked female body very attractive. The looks on SB face when he comes in the door though are very funny.

Edited to say - woohee the mezzi got censored

I also meant to say about DVD zone thing .... Do what I did and by a multizone player (Not they make them officially you understand but they're sold everywhere.) I decided if I was going to be able to watch anything with Jason in it I'd need a mulitzone. They're great mate

OH and I meant to say - PODDY your summer house is soooooooooo CUTE. Simply adorable. No wonder you love going there.

As for flatmates they can be difficult. Young people also think that it is safest to live with friends but, just because you're friends doesn't mean you can get on when you live together. Tis a learning experience to learn that you must set some ground rules before agreeing to flat. Hopefully their friendship can take this bump.

Hi Everyone!

MyrnaLynne, Oh that drives me crazy... blanket fuzz! I had a blanket that did it Every time, even after washing and I said enough was enough and threw it away! And it was expensive too! Grrrr!!!

Hopefully your blanket fuzz goes away after washing! But isn't it so nice to get new blankets?... they're so soft and cozy!

I'm glad you are getting the hang of your New Monitor. See, you are getting used to it already! You won't be even missing the old one before you know it!

And hopefully you'll get the hang of the New Word program soon too. I'm sure by now, you've got it mostly figured out already!

Yes, my poor niece is so upset about the roomate and her BF thing. I feel bad for her. And she can't afford an apt on her own and she Really doesn't want to move back home, that's for sure. Poor kid... I hope she can work something out with her roommate.

And yes, my DIL has a Big LOUD family! And I don't think I'll ever get used to their LOUDNESS. (sigh)

And when the kids were small, we use to go to the beach all the time, but now, we never go. (sigh) I kind of miss it. I miss going to the ocean and smelling that beautiful salty air. (sigh) And it's really not that far away!

That would be fun for Elmo to go with you to the lake, but then again, he doesn't like peeps much, does he? He just might be a handful with Mr. ML's whole family there? Might not be that much fun after all.

I'm surprised it takes that long for you to get a mammo appt! Here, it only takes a few weeks!

It's trying to get into see Dr's that's the problem around here! It takes months!

Well, try to enjoy your Summer-like weather this week... hopefully it doesn't get too hot!

Mezzi! It's so good to see you posting! You have been missed!

I'm glad that your family helped you move at least some things! Altho' I guess you are still the one doing Most of it, which still isn't fair.

Sorry to hear that your back is bothering you, and your knees too. Sending Healing Vibes your way...

Glad you are on Holidays! That's Always nice to be able to relax!

Sorry your Sis kind of brought you down tho'. How's she doing otherwise, healthwise? Better I hope.

And how's the Step doing, healthwise too? Is she still doing Chemo?

That was something meeting up with an old classmate at the Tea. It really is a small world.

And Yes, they should have set some ground rules before they moved in together, but my niece didn't foresee the issues with the BF. She didn't think he'd practically MOVE IN!

Live and learn, poor kid.

Hope Everyone has a Great Week!

Biggest Hugs to All,
Wen
