Thanks for the new thread Podmom! Great job!

Oh gosh, I was working and looked up and it was 3 p.m. - and I had my mammogram at 3! Luckily it's about 5 minutes from my office and I hobbled over there as fast as my little legs would carry me! And then sat and waited for 45 minutes! And then played topless Twister with a sadistic mammo tech - put your arm here, lower your shoulder, turn your feet in, raise your chin up, turn your head - don't move! It was pretty bad.

I really don't like being manhandled like that, well, woman-handled. If they can explain better, they don't need to shove you around quite so much. This lady was a shover and bad explainer. And man, they were so busy, you would have thought they were giving away money with every mammo or something! I said it was very busy and the tech said it was like that every single day!

But they had a new nifty toy, they had the questionnaire they always make you fill out (and you never have time to finish before they call you) put on an electronic tablet thing with a pen/pointer - it was like a book-sized video game and you clicked through the answers - nifty! They already had some info from previous visits on there, and it would go into the computer for next time. :> But it was a little heavy for some of the older ladies there, and mystifying for come of the less computer literate gals too.

Oh well, that's done for another year! Felt like I'd been through the wringer...

HiML ugg....mammos are always stressful and icky glad you are done for another year! Loved your take on it > "And then played topless Twister with a sadistic mammo tech - put your arm here, lower your shoulder, turn your feet in, raise your chin up, turn your head" you are such a hoot..... for making me smile so much over the years

now I'm watching dateline about Michael Jackson......I haven't watched TV hardly at all since Viv left....for sure NO news ..not a speck.. so I missed all the coverage( and I'll bet it has been non stop) so catching up.....seems like just layers of sadness....all his and all he probably caused

Thanks Poddy for the Shiny New Thread!

The Fireworks Display that you described sounded amazing!!! I'm sure it was Really Something to See! What an experience you had!!!

And I'm glad you had a nice 4th at your Bro's son's place! How old is his Granddaughter? ("The Yankee Doodle Baby!") How Fun to be born on the 4th! Fireworks Every Year for her Birthday!

Yes MyrnaLynne, you certainly have a way with words! "Topless Twister with a sadistic mammo tech!"

I know it's really not funny but you have me LMAO!!! Gosh, I just Love your posts! You keep me laughing when I least expect it!!! LOL!

I'm sorry your Mammo was so grueling, (as they usually unfortunately are).

And I swear, I'm a bra size smaller when I walk out of there too, but the next day I'm a bra size bigger from being so swollen from all the unmercifully squashing!

Glad you're good for another year, and I'm done with mine for another year too TG!

I spent an uneventful day at my No.1 son's today while waiting for the A/C repairman. The best they could do was say they'd be there sometime between 8 & 5! Grrrr! And he showed up at 4:30! Grrrr!

Then he didn't have the right part on the truck, so he's coming back Tomorrow, so I have to go back TOMORROW, but this time, he should be there anytime between 8am to 1pm. Just Lovely.

Well, I got to hang out with Molly & Bandit, my son's Pugs. Oh, btw, they don't think Molly is pregnant anymore... think she lost the litter because she's not all big and fat and she REALLY should be by now!

The Vet told them to bring her in when she really began to show so they could do an U/S to count the pups, but she's just not showing at all.

I'm really kind of glad in a way because I was worried about her giving birth. Little breeds like that could have a hard time and even die, and I wouldn't want even a piece of fur on her little head hurt! So while they're all sad, I'm rejoicing (secretly!). LOL!

I don't think they want to try again, as my son says he wants to get Bandit fixed because he just can't take his insanity when Molly's in heat anymore.

I say fix the both of them, so poor Molly doesn't have to go into Season anymore, but they see nothing wrong with it.

Our weather is cooling down a bit again, TG!!! It was only in the high 80's today, so since I was in a house with No A/C, the ceiling fans kept it pretty comfortable in there, and my son's area always has a nice breeze... LUCKY!

There never seems to ever be not even a breath out at my place.

Suppose to be a Full Moon Tomorrow. Isn't it funny how it looks like the Moon is Smiling at us from up there? Well, I always thought it was funny and odd.

Hope Everyone has a Great Week!

Biggest Hugs,
Wen

Yes Wen I could always understand why ancient peoples worshipped the moon, because it has such a kindly face looking down on us from above! Plus the whole mysterious shrinking and going away and coming back again/phases of the moon. And of course they also worshipped the sun because it is so scary and powerful - so bright you can't even look directly at it, gets too hot and you fry, too cold and you freeze/crops die, etc, you are at the mercy of the Sun. Sun is kind of the scary powerful god and the moon is the kindly protecting/watching over you god.

Glad I could give you gals a laugh. I seem to have recovered from the mammo with no ill effects, but I swear they were red by the time she got through with them. I thought at one point she was going to break my neck, the way she had me twisted around. And she kept telling me to 'drop my shoulder' and I told her that was a far as my shoulder went! I don't have the 'all clear' report yet but - fingers crossed!

Went grocery shopping last night and my knee was so bad and the store is so huge and I kept forgetting stuff and having to go back for it, and then at the end, the checker couldn't figure out this coupon the store sent me (for being such a great customer) for a free can of dog food - only the coupon was good for $1.09 and the dog food was $1.50! LOL! I told her to just forget about it, as I couldn't stand there much longer and I was nearly in tears, but she had to call over the manager etc etc. Think we'll shop someplace else next week! Stupid coupons anyway.

Plus I was so so slow, digging through my coupon wallet and not finding anything, or finding ones that were expired (even though I just weeded through them the other day and threw out a skazillion expired ones) and not wanting to put on my glasses to actually be able to SEE the coupons etc. sigh. Mr ML was a saint of patience because he's always rush rush let's get this over with, even though there was actually no rush.

Oh well - we have food now. But I didn't do any Wii-ing after that, just put my feet up. We're watching 'Entourage' from last season that we rented. Stupid (and vulgar) show but interesting. Like to think this is the stuff Jason deals with in his life as an actor in Hollywood.

Mr ML must have spent the whole day playing on that Wii - he has the week off, and he unlocked all sorts of new levels and games. I told him there's no rush to 'beat' the whole thing and get tired of it! But that's him. Competitive.

Yikes, too, we just orderd that computer and he took the car in for the squeak in back yesterday that turned out to be the rear brakes and cost over $700 to fix! Always something...

They had video online of the Hospital Star singing finalists at work, and I checked them out and they all were pretty good. It's one thing being a singer, and another being a performer, I think. Because one woman has a beautiful operatic voice, but they went with the other woman who sang a more popular song and had a big smile and charmed the audience more.

Wen that's weird Molly's puppies 'went back up' and disappeared. Was it like a false pregnancy? They definitely should get both dogs fixed, although it's a more major thing to go in an fix a female than the guy.

Those darn repairmen - they think everybody has nothing else to do but sit and wait for them all day (and half the night) and then they don't have the part!
Oh well, they have us at their mercy.

Poddy I read some magazine things about Michael Jackson (although I have trouble looking at pictures of him when he got so scary looking) but haven't seen any TV about him. Sad sad guy. I didn't realize his 3 kids were white (and he had nothing to do with making them!) Weird. Read that he was addicted to prescription drugs in a big way, and everybody knew it, his family, friends, caretakers, etc, but nobody could stop it. I think he just overdid it, rehearsing for the concert coming up like crazy and his fragile health/heart couldn't take it. Sad. Stupid. Weird. He was a talented guy but... He had more issues than the Readers Digest.

We should add Gabi to the list of JOFs up there, if she wants.

Simon Baker was lovely in 'Devil Wears Prada' - although my daughter thought his eyebrows were too big (and Adrian Grenier's teeth were ugly - esp when she saw it on the big screen originally). Fussy, isn't she?

Oh well, they tweezed the heck out of Rob Pattinson's eyebrows for 'Twilight' too (man-scaping). I guess they must have done that for Simon Baker's later roles too.

LOL, MLette and I looked at some of the 'extra stuff' on the "Prada" disk, but it was late and we didn't want to look at everything, and they had a deleted scene about the boyfriend sleeping and I said "Ooo, let's watch that - I bet Adrian Grenier sleeps really cute" and MLette just cracked up - and wasn't he shirtless/sleeping too in that deleted scene. He is a pretty man, but seems kind of boring - like Tom Welling.

We watched the Pilot/Premiere of 'Warehouse 13' on Syfy (hurts my teeth to type their 'new improved' network name) last night. Was on late, 9-11. YAWN! It was okay. Reminded me of 'The Librarian' mostly, but less tongue-in-cheek. The lead woman was a vampire gal on 'Dresden Files' (and the possessed India guy at the beginning was the lady cop's partner on Dresden) - so I figure this must be filming in Canada. The old-timey technology/props they had in the warehouse were pretty cool. Anyway, we'll give it a chance. Only thing I didn't like was every commercial was for a horror movie or scary show! I kept having to look away/cover my eyes.

'Eureka' comes back this Friday, but their season is only 10 episodes. And they are letting Colin Ferguson, cute Sheriff guy/star, direct one of the episodes too. That's a fun show. Oh well, 10 is better than the return of 'Torchwood' - that's only 5 episodes (and we don't get BBC America, so will have to rent it when it comes out). cheesh, I really should get a life...

Oo Mr ML rented 'Push' last night, and that was the day the DVD came out! It looked like a pretty stupid movie but we still kind of wanted to see it.

Poor him, he has the dentist today to do some icky prep work for fixing his tooth. And poor MLette was at work til waaay past midnight last night, had to sit at the hospital with one of the clients. I was just getting really worried when she called to let us know what was up. Phew. Hope she can sleep really late today! And my son went back to work today after being off Fri-Tuesday! A nice loooong holiday weekend for him.

Okay... back to it!

Poddy Yeah i live in London, actually now that i've moved i live in West Drayton in Middlesex. Like 25 minutes by train into Central London. Thanks for those pictures, it's beautiful...i'm really in need of some holidays in the beach...i miss the sun and the sea too much!Your daughter Emily is so beautiful!!!!Have a good and safe trip to PA.

ML"Torchwood" is having big rates here now that they're airing the new episodes during this week. John Barrowman's beautiful even he's gay.
Btw, i watched "Push" and i didn't like it either...even i love Chris Evans i have to say that the movie sucked big time!
Sorry to know your mammo was stressful hun!

I've finally finished watching the Simon Baker movies i've got:
First my favourite "Book of love". Simon plays a teacher married man who's deeply in love with his wife. She cheates on him with a 15 years old boy who they meet on a ice cream shop they go one summer day. I couldn't understand how she can cheat on him....oh come on she has this amazing, lovely and beautiful husband and goes and cheates on him!I was furious with her the whole time...I recommend this movie to all of you; Simon is amazing in this movie!
Second one "Land of the dead" is a zombie movie. Nothing special but i liked it...and Simon doesnt die, lol.
"The Lodger" was a dissapointment! It's a thriller with a lot of Alfred Hitchcock influences but nothing exciting....and Simon isn't even on half of the film... oh well, nevermind!
I'm still waiting to receive "Sex & Dead 101"....i'll let you know all when i watch it.

to Wen as well!!!!!!!!...Poddy and WL
