| It sounds like the way you do the Yankee Swap is more fun (and involves more gambling/luck) Wen. Your holiday traditions are nice. Although I always thought it was awfully unfair to the parents to give Santa all the credit when they scrimped and saved (and shopped and wrapped) and managed to get their kids nice gifts. I think it's more amazing that the presents come from parents than from some mysterious stranger who sneaks in your house in the night! Plus strangers would say stuff to my kids when they were little like "Are you being good? Santa is WATCHING YOU!" (bwahahaha). Also a little weird this guy is keeping tabs on kids all year long (or that strangers wanted to scare my children with that idea). Although I'm totally down with the Tooth Fairy! (the only magical creature not attached to a religious holiday). Well, I guess leprechauns don't count.I bought those dog boots for my last dog - and never put them on his feet. Once I got them, I just thought they were too ridiculous. Or maybe I tried them and they kept falling off (whippets have very skinny feet) - I don't remember now. And that dog didn't mind wearing clothes. I just don't know how this dog would take it, especially as he hates it if you mess with his feet (clipping his nails is a 3-person job involving a muzzle and lots of dog treats). But I need to do something for his poor paws. They really go overboard with the rock salt and some varieties really hurt his feet. I bought the 'safe for paws' type for my walk, but that's not the kind most people get.YAY that Lainie got an A on the test and B in the course! She is one smart cookie! I'm glad the nerves didn't mess up her answering the questions right.Gawd, school - I am SO glad I'm done with school. I like learning stuff, but school and tests etc is so stressful - I guess that's why people have taking test nightmares and school dreams for years afterwards! Those 'can't remember your locker combination' dreams and the ever popular "have to take a final exam in a class you never attended" dream! LOL! School - metaphor for angst.__________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| Hey all! Up until last year, I'd never even heard of the Yankee Swap game! Isn't that funny? (As in strange/funny.) I played it the first time last year with a bunch of "lady" friends, so all of the gifts were pretty good, candles, potpourri, stuff that girls like. At the party on Saturday night, one of the gifts was a Victoria's Secret gift certificate and a pair of edible underpants! I thought it was scandalous but that gift got stolen the most times. One guy even took it and put it right into his wife's lap! I ended up with a stupid gift, but no one got their feelings hurt or got mad, thank G-D!Wen - congrats to Laine on her aceing of the test! Go Laine! My son's coming home from college sometime tonight. Today is the last day of finals at his college and can you believe it that he has a final at 5:00 pm! Sheesh! So he'll be home until January 23rd. It'll be nice to have him home. I really like the holiday traditions in your family, it sounds so loving. ![]() ML - I'm at a loss as to whom I'd like to see elected as President too. I like some things about a lot of the candidates, but don't trust a one of them. How can we elect someone we don't trust with our country? VB - Loved the wedding story! Is it usual for Israelis to be married on a Monday? Here is the US, Saturdays or Sundays are popular, and sometimes Friday evenings, we usually wait for the weekend. i'm just curious. Anyone else already getting sick of reality shows again? It seems like with the writer's strike all the reality shows are coming out since they don't have "writers" who belong to the union or something like that. Did I see correctly that Jason's "Frost" movie might be submitted to Tribeca? That'd be so awesome! __________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne | |||

| Hi Everyone! ![]() MyrnaLynne, I agree... Santa gets way too much credit for giving great gifts, but in my family we always got one great gift from Santa and one great gift from the parents. Altho' that was the way it was suppose to work, and I've followed that tradition with my own kids, but of course I give them more than just one present as the parent, unlike my folks did with the one present thing with me and my bro'. But somehow, while growing up, Santa usually blew it in the gift giving dept. I'll explain... One year I wanted a pair of ice skates, as all my friends had them and I didn't so this was something that I Really wanted! Well, come Christmas morning, I see this box of ice skates under my stocking, but they were BLACK, MEN's size 11! Hmmm, I know I only took a woman's size 7 so What the HECK?!!! So that Christmas, I was still watching all my friends ice skate and sat on the side lines until my parents could return them for the Right Ones! Grrrr! Or the time I wanted the Really Cool Honey West Doll... and instead I got a stupid Jane West Doll! (Honey West was my hero... action hero, kick a$$, brave, and you name it, and that was Honey West!) Jane West was a cowgirl! How could they screw that up???!!! Leave it to my parents and they did. ![]() I think my parents secretly drank ... either that or they were complete idiots! I couldn't tell which?! But that's one way to crush a child's spirit... get the gift wrong Every Fricken Year, while my Bro' would laugh his a$$ off at me and the mistake! Grrrr! ![]() Funny, Santa never screwed up my Bro's gifts! GRRRR! (I always knew they liked him best!) ![]() Water under the bridge. Scottie, my Lainie had her last final today too! But it was 10am this morning, not no 5pm! What a lousy time for a final! Enjoy your son! And have a Wonderful Christmas and New Year with your family. ![]() And yes, I never watched reality shows to begin with, and I'm not about to start now. So, I've not been watching too much TV, actually hardly at all now.And thanks for all the Congrats to Lainie! She is one very smart young lady, if I do say so myself. ![]() Gosh, yes, I remember all those tests in school, and in nursing school too! Yikes, how did it all fit in my brain?! LOL! Yes, thank goodness that's all behind me now. Whew! At least with nursing school, it's practical knowledge, and used every day, but when will I even need to recite the poem, "The Midnight's Ride of Paul Revere"?! Well my 5th grade teacher insisted that we learn it, along with a ton of other useless poems, and made our lives Hell if we didn't learn them! So to this day, I still have that useless info in my head of poems and of the like. Grrrr! That teacher gave me nightmares! She was a crabby old maid, and hated children, so of course she was a teacher! When I went to grade school, (a million years ago), all the teachers were so mean! ![]() But now-a-days, they're mostly really nice! My kids have had some of the nicest teacher's I've ever met! ![]() Hope Everyone is doing Great! ![]() Hugs to All, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle. | Hello to all the JOFs & JITs! ![]() Sorry that I haven't posted for so long! Work has been busy and my weekends lately have been filled with stuff that I had to do! Will be having 2 weeks off over the holidays though. Am planning to post more then! Am going to Vancouver to spend Christmas with my brother and his wife. I usually can use one of his laptops though. They have a network set up in their condo... which makes things easier. That's very cool that Frost is being shown at film festivals! Would be exceedingly cool if it were to be at Tribeca! ![]() As for Christmas songs... I will admit that I am a total sucker for Christmas songs! Have been playing Christmas song videos on youtube lately. Giggle. Okay... will admit... have been playing Christmas songs by Jon Bon Jovi. Had so much fun at the concert last month that I want to prolong the experience. ![]() Run Run Rudolf Blue Christmas Jenn: Thank you for the start to the new thread! ![]() Vered: Belated Happy Birthday sweetie. ![]() That's very cool that you got asked to go on to the next level regarding that job. ![]() That wedding does sound like it part wedding and part social a networking social climbing whatever. I went to a very very stuffy wedding years back when a friend married a woman from a wealthy family. Our table had a lot of fun though... we were laughing and joking and dancing, etc., etc.... all evening! Sometimes you have to make your own fun! ![]() As for latkes... I totally love latkes! Wen: I am very sorry to hear about all the trouble that you have been having with your legs sweetie. ![]() That's horrible that your brother got laid off from HP after working there so long a time! The sending jobs off shore is very very annoying! Hopefully your brother will be able to find a new job soon. It is often difficult to find a new job when one is in their 50s. But it is possible. I had trouble with my digital cable a few weeks back... had to get a new digital cable box and had to make 4 phone calls to the cable company's techie help line. And of course 3 out of 4 people who I talked to couldn't speak either English or French properly!!! GRRRR! I got so mad I just hung up and then took my time and figured out how to connect my new cable box myself. I used the photo that I took several years ago when some of the Obsessies were in Montreal and I disconnected my cable box and vcr in order to take my vcr to the hotel. Boy I am glad that I took that photo! That's cool that Laine got an A on the final and a B in the class! ![]() Podmom: I love your Christmas manips! ![]() Good to hear that your sister is taking Big Viv for a month! You definitely deserve a rest. ![]() Kinsey: Congratulations on your new job sweetie! ![]() That's very very cool that you are moving to Atlanta! ![]() [[[[HUGS]]]] though about the no Christmas. Will be thinking of you on Christmas day sweetie. ![]() Scottie: Good to hear that you had such a good time with your friend. Friends that you have known for years are wonderful. MyrnaLynne: I was thinking the exact same thing about the Blood Ties novels... that Tanya Huff was influenced by Buffy... then noticed that the first book in the series was written in 1989! The Smoke series is also very very good! And hey... got to love books which are set on the set of a tv series about a vampire detective. Giggle. Reading the stuff relating to the filming of a television series made me wish that Jason would be cast in a tv series... that actually gets picked up. But hey... hopefully he will get a role on another series at some point in time. Is weird to think that there may not be many new episodes of tv series after the holidays because of the writers strike. Sigh. But then again... I tend to side with the writers for this whatever... because it's only fair that they get paid for when their work gets aired online. Hopefully something will be worked out soon.... as I tend to dislike most reality tv shows. Is weird that Lifetime and Chum both apparently haven't realised how very good Blood Ties is! Would be totally awesome the show were to be renewed! mezz: That poor kid must have been traumatized to hear JESS called out that way! Calling dogs with people names can be problematic. Have a funny story about that whatever though. When I was in elementary school we had an old cocker spaniel who was called Skippy. Original eh! Any ways... one day Skippy decided to slip his collar and wander off. Followed my older brother to school we think. My dad put notices up etc... and a couple of days later we got a call from the family who had found Skippy. They lived on the other side of my brother's school. Any ways... when my father went to pick up our dog... he discovered that the kids in the family who had found him had been calling him... Harold. They had tried to figure out the dog's name. Tried out various names... with no response. Then they tried Harold as a joke... and Skippy perked up because he recognized the name. So they called Skippy Harold... which was my dad's name! Giggle! | Maggie glad to see you back posting! LOL that Skippy recognized your Dad's name - dogs are a lot smarter than people give them credit for being.I liked Bon Jovi's Blue Christmas - he sounded almost as good as Elvis (and is very cute). Would say cuter than Elvis, but their looks are very different. I was thinking Jason would have made an excellent vampire, especially when he had the long hair for 'Man of G-d' He would be a lovely creature of the night (and he could bite my neck any day of the week!) ![]() ![]() No Scottie people were just saying "wouldn't it be great if 'Frost' plays at Tribeca this year" - it was more of a wish than a fact (at least so far). I hope it happens, though! ![]() Poor Wen your parents - er - Santa really messed up! LOL! Maybe they didn't want Santa to come out looking better than them. Well, one toy is the same as the next to most parents - when I go to buy a video game for Mr ML Jr I have to carry a note with the name written on it and what game system it's for! But how can you mess up getting black men's skates for girls?! I remember Honey West! She had a pet ocelot and she was the coolest. I wanted an ocelot, not a Honey West doll. ![]() I was just talking with the hygienist (got my teeth cleaned) about jobs going off shore - she was talking about calling tech support for Canon cameras and getting somebody in India with such a heavy accent, she couldn't understand a word the person said to her. (So I told her about Wen's brother being laid off and her son's company shipping overseas too). sigh. I'd like a presidential candidate who could do something about that. I did like Giuliani when he said he wants people moving here to learn English. I don't think that's too much to ask - all our ancestors did it! And having all the signage suddenly in English and Spanish really is irritating. We are not a Spanish country, last time I checked (although I guess populationwise that might not be true). grumble, mutter. Heard the writers arent' going to write the Golden Globe or Oscar drivel - that might be an improvement. I don't know why they can't just announce the nominees and give out the award and let the person say thanks for 3 minutes or whatever. Do they really need the comedy routines, the dance numbers, the montages, the production numbers etc? Most of which are totally lame anyway? Well, the list of who died is always interesting (and sad). I think it's a slippery slope that shows are getting dispensations or whatever from the strikers so they can come back (some of the late night shows, which I never see anyway). Isn't that 'strike breaking' to go work when you are on strike? Ithink the writers are going to lose this fight and end up worse off than they were to start with. Still sorry about Journeyman - probably my fault! LOL! Just Monday night I finally decided that I really did like that show and it was pretty cool. So of course now it's ending. One of the Canadian writer bloggers (thanks Maggie for that link) was saying that about shows - sometimes the writers don't figure the show out until around episode 6 or 8 and it finds its groove - but nowadays, shows have to be hits by the 3rd episode of they are history. Also saw that CBS is planning to get TV from CBC/Canada if they can't make US shows - that's another slippery slope! Most foreign writers are supporting the WGA strike/showing solidarity. ![]() I forgot that January is pilot season, too - that's when they hire people and make pilots - but the writers have to write the pilots first. It's a ridiculous system anyway, to make 500 shows or whatever the same month from the same pool of actors and then let the networks pick 5 or 10 from that. It's totally bizarre and I think the strike is going to change/put an end to that. But if there are no pilots in January, there will be no new TV shows in the fall. But it really scared me that some TV network whoever said they didn't need writers to make TV shows!! Yeh, if they're going to keep showing the dog show or idiots fighting while stranded on an island. Maybe they will start showing gladiators fighting lions next. :< I won't watch most of the reality shows. I liked Dancing with the Stars because it was dancing and it was fun. I like some of the shows on HGTV because they are pleasant and interesting (buying a house? redecorating? solving your clutter problems?). I've never watched Survivor or American Idol (it's singing, but it's stupid and often mean spirited) or any of those other losing weight/getting married/whatever shows. Maybe they'll bring back the variety show (Ed Sullivan) and Walt Disney? Topo Gigo, anyone? Writers deserve to be paid for their work. And TV is, for the most part, a vast wasteland. There was so nothing on TV last night I did laundry and baked cookies. Ughh, we caught a mouse yesterday (that would be 3 so far this winter). I feel so awful for them - made the mistake of looking at this one and it was a really cute one. sigh. Mice are so adorable. But if they are pooping and sneaking around my kitchen and nibbling on the food - they are fair game! I would be a very bad Buddhist (or Jain). __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 12-19-2007 at 09:28 AM. | |||

| Wow, ML, you sure do know a lot about television! What an interesting post ^^ up there. I agree wholeheartedly about the reality tv shows. I have to admit though that I thought that the Clash of the Choirs just *might* be interesting so I talked the hubby into watching it last night. Such a bad idea that was. Terrible...I have a funny mouse story too! (allthough I'm sorry for your little mousie and agree that they're cute but pests nonetheless). My co-worker went to the post office this morning and as he was walking back to work he saw two mice running down the sidewalk and these two ladies began to shriek at the sight of the two mice. Just then someone walked out of an office building onto the sidewalk, holding the door opened just as the two little mice spotted an escape route and ran in through the door!!! That was too much for the shrieking ladies who - wait for it - were turning into the office building where the mice just ran as it was THEIR office building! My co-worker said it was the funniest thing, they kept screaming about the mice and I guess someone dealt with Mickey and Minnie in the lobby of the building. Or hopefully they found a way to evade the humans bent on their demise. We laughted about it all morning!Too bad about Tribeca/Frost being just a hopeful idea. But who knows, it could happen! Hey Maggie, so good to see you! And what a funny story about Harold/Skippy. __________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne | |||

| I gave the choir thing about 5 minutes the other night. One of Mr ML's coworkers has a relative of some sort competing in that show. When the country music guy said he couldn't read music (and had no idea what voices even made up a choir) I was like... duh! Only thing I like about it is, it's one singing reality show I wouldn't be too old to try out for! : I've sung in plenty of choruses/choirs over the years (though not so much lately - lately being about the last 25-30 years). It probably will come down to who is the most popular celebrity leading the choir though, not who is the best singer. That's the other thing I don't like about the reality shows, when people can call up and vote. It's not like the phone companies need any more money and then it's not who is best, it's who has the most fans (with phones). My friend who watched it said Patti LaBelle was the best.Sorry if that was TMI on TV world! As Will Rogers (?) used to say, I only know what I read in the papers (or in this case, the internet). Now the WGA is asking people not to download/stream shows or give DVDs (from studios) as Christmas gifts to support their strike! Too late! I hope they settle their strike soon because I'm dying to watch the rest of 'Blood Ties'! Yankee Swap with a bunch of coworkers (all women around the same age with similar interests) isn't bad. We did that at my previous job. Although it never was that funny and some people gave you absolute cr*p. I remember Mr ML's work used to do a secret santa swap thing and he got the person a nice gift and she gave him a little rock (it was a 'worry stone' and had a dip in it you could rub with your thumb). He was so mad! LOL!LOL about the poor mousies! Funny story! Women are such screamers. I was in a basement type restaurant once, and a bat started swooping around. You should have heard the screaming (and covering of hair - total myth that bats land in ladies hair). I like bats! (although granted a lot of them can give you rabies these days) Mice are such timid little creatures - they really aren't cut out for stealthy home invasions (their little trail of mouse poo always gives them away! LOL!). I had a pet mouse when I was a kid - I don't know how I can in good conscience snap their little necks in traps now. But I really hate them pooping on my countertops and chewing holes in the bag of flour, etc. They can spread diseases and such too. sigh. Sort of like spiders - I generally leave those alone, unless they decide to hang around over my bed (or over the bathroom sink, etc). If they want to lurk in a corner and eat whatever bugs we might have, more power to them! The guy downstairs is a vegetarian (and has lots of grain in the house) and I'm sure as heck he isn't putting out any mousetraps! ![]() sigh. Why won't Jason come and take me away from all this! LOL! Oh yeh, cause he's married to KaDee now. Oh well, back to it!![]() One night I was walking the dog and this cat was chasing something back and forth around the street - my dog got interested and wanted to join in the game and the cat was SO insulted! "Hey, get your own mouse!" ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 12-19-2007 at 11:00 AM. | |||

| ML - I really thought your post was very interesting about the strike and it's complications and intricacies. I really enjoyed it. Quote:
![]() I'm the same way with spiders, although I'm really afraid of them. But if one's sitting in the corner, minding its own business, I don't mess with them. I don't like those little black ones that have the pinchers though, they really creep me out. My hubby will corner them into a tissue and take them outside if I find one that I really don't want in the house. I know they die of the cold (if its winter) though. But mice you really do have to deal with before you have hundreds of them living with you, the prolific little devils. I was once camping (a long time ago) in the mountains in British Columbia that actually has a high desert climate east of the Coast Mountains. It's really beautiful there. I'd left my backpack outside the tent overnight and when I went to pick it up an honest to goodness "pack rat" ran out of my backpack and scared the bejeesus out of me. He simply ran away, didn't bite or hurt anything, but he scared me. I looked in my backpack and he'd built (or maybe it was a "she") a nest using all of the available kleenex in my pack. It was amazing! The guides that we were with told me it was a pack rat and that that's what they do. He wasn't very big, just like a big mouse size. I agree that the choir competition will probably be a popularity contest between the stars, not as much due to the talent of the choirs. I thought Patti LaBelle looked great, she's lost a lot of (needed) weight. I think Nick Lachey (sp?) is cute too. __________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne | |||

| Hey all!! I just found a new favorite show! Now it's not Sci Fii but I think it's great. It's that Brothers & Sisters show with Calista Plokheart. It's such a wonderful show. It's practicly bringing me to tears at least twice every chapter which excites me very much! It has been so long since I've seen a nice show that deals with nice family life... well not that nice but it's just so moving. I had this kinda date yesterday.... which was kinda wired. It's been a while since I've been on one (of my choice) so decided to find out how I feel about dating again.... I don't think we rubed each other to well... mostly because the guy who set us up didn't know any of us to well! Which was so ennoying (I'm so sick of compaining about that one! ). Other then that I found out I'm much more comfertable with myself on dates then I thought so that's good. ML, I know you joked about the Prime Minister thing. Still a terrible job to have!![]() Your dad is being sniky isn't he? Not wanting to give the pesents and the whol Aphikoman tradition. Well we kinda stoped when we got older. The youngest one is not 13 so we've just lost interest in it. I just guess we grew up. Well we're having issues with the 2nd part too but everybody waits for all of those songs at the end so everyone stay foot untill we get there.![]() Oh dear! What ever happened to Secret Santa? I mean that game is so nice and sweet. Why coplicate things with all of those swaping going around? Well anyway it does make sense that if all of the players are at the same age it's going to be much nicer then it is any other way. Sorry about Journyman! It has to be ennoying that those good shows keep getting of the air. ![]() I can't believe someone actually said that! If you want the show to be good of course you need writers! I mean they're the ones making an idea something good to go on with. What a bozo!I usually don't really like all of those realety shows but I have to admit I fell for Surviver a long time ago. I don't like all of the back-stubbing but I like the whole idea of being on a "deserted" islad. It might not be the best show ever but it sure interesting. We're way back on the season count... comes with living over here. ![]() Well I totally hate spiders and cockroach. I can get along well with a mouse but all of those other things I'm totally scared of. ![]() Wen, loved to read about all of those nice Christmas traditions! They are so sweet and nice and lovely. ![]() I'm so happy Lainie aced that test she was so stressed about! Actualy it some times happens to me too. I'm sure I failed but then I found out I got a pretty good gread. Anyway I'm so happy to hear it went well!Well I just can't help it. I'm worried. I really don't want you to stay stuck in bed all the time. Even if it's not the big stuff obviously something's wrong and that should be fixed. So sorry about all of those presents you Santa-perents mixed up with! That must have felt pretty bad. They really weren't to observent if they bought you a man's skets.![]() Scottie, oh no. Weddings over here can be done at any day of the week. Well Thursday is pretty popular but it's not a must. If weddings over there are like it's in the movies they I get why people would rather do it on the weekend. Our weddings usualy start at sunset and most times it actually start way after. Like the last wedding I was in was suppoued to start at around 8:00 pm but the ceremony started at 9:00 pm. We have a nice evening of dancing talking and eating and that's pretty much the end of it. The wedding I was at on Monday got over around 2:00am. We left much earlier (around 12:30 am). That would have been pretty cool to have Frost at Tribeca. I have such nice time reading everyone's comentary about being theres. ![]() I'm so happy your son will be home soon! Enjoy your time with him! ![]() Mags, so wonderful seeing you! Happy to hear you might be able to post more on that time off (2 weeks!!! That's to cool!! ). That's nice that you're going to your brother's and his wife. Well obviousely that those tech people should know to at least speak English well! That's so ennoying that you depend on them to help you but you can't even understand them. ![]() podmommy, that's just so sad about that woman! To lose so much. Must be very hard. all__________________ Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.----- Baz Luhrmann You don't have to be crazy to be my friend.... | I was reading your post Poddy and I said "Oy!" right before you wrote 'oy'! LOL! Sometimes when it rains it pours on people - glad she's carrying on and in the holiday spirit too - makes us old cranks feel ashamed. I can't imagine losing that much in such a short time. People's houses always seem to burn down this time of year - with the candles and the shorting out Christmas lights/overloaded electric outlets or maybe using iffy space heaters because of the cold - sigh. Horrible any time of year, but you feel so bad for people when their house burns down, all their Christmas gifts and everything - gone. I guess that's why I think fire is so scary. LOL, then again, as Mr ML would say, I have a whole lot of 'worst fears' about things! I admit it, I am a nervous mother (but not nearly as nervous as my own mother was, may she rest in peace).VB glad you are liking 'Brothers & Sisters'. I like Sally Field but I haven't watched that one - but I know it gets good reviews. You have a close family and it's probably good to see nice family stuff. It's so nice to find a show to like again, isn't it? (it's been a long time since Roswell). That's how I felt about 'Moonlight' (and 'Blood ties') - excited to find a show I really liked a lot. I watched the last 'Journeyman' last night and it was very nice - also nice family stuff in that show/struggles between husband and wife, guy and his brother, wife and her (formidable) sister, guy and his boss - nice show (on top of him being a time traveler). LOL, leave it to me to decide I like a show on Monday night and find out Tuesday it's been cancelled! I joke about my liking stuff being the kiss of death, but sometimes I feel like it's true. It's snowing (again!?) and it rained again yesterday. sigh. It's already a bad winter and it's barely begun. I want to move someplace without winter - right now! Although with global warming, I suppose if I wait long enough, we won't have winter here anymore.Scottie the 'pack rat' sounds so cool (and that he moved into your pack and made a little kleenex nest! Aww) but finding a critter leaping out of my bag would definitely scare me to death too. It's true, mice breed like rabbits, er, mice. When I was a kid I had a mouse (one, so they didn't have kids) and my mother made me keep it in the garage. My best friend had pet mice his mother let him keep in the basement and they got loose and were fruitful an multiplied and their basement was overrun with little mousies! LOL, maybe his mom let the mice breed so they could have babies and he could learn about the 'birds and the bees.' Baby mice are awfully cute, all naked and pink (although the father mice try to eat them, which isn't very cute at all). Then again, baby anythings are very very cute! Puppies... grandchildren. ![]() Holiday singing (Christmas caroling) at work today in the main corridor. I wore my red velvety blouse and I'm ready (with bells on - literally). Only reason I didn't take today off (my boss just went on vacation for a week) was to sing. ![]() P.S. My friend the secretary at work just gave me a package of made-in-USA, hand-dipped Hanukah candles to put away for next year! So I'm ready! LOL!P.P.S. (next day) We got MORE SNOW! It's definitely looking like a Christmas card around here but what a nuisance.__________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 12-21-2007 at 07:34 AM. | |||

| Good morning everyone!ML - I didn't know that daddy mice eat their offspring! Ew! We must have had a similar childhood, we had mice and hamsters too. We had guppies in an aquarium and I remember that the adults will eat the little ones so we had to give the babies shelter at the top of the water so they could hide from the big ones and not get eaten. I guess it's nature though and nothing we can do about it, eh? I'll be away from the office for a week, I might get the odd chance to check in to see what everyone's up to, but if I don't get the chance before Christmas, I hope that all who celebrate have a wonderful day with friends and family, chilling, vegging, hanging out, opening gifts and hopefully getting something they enjoy (like Wen's wonderful chair!). Remember those less fortunate than we are and give if you can. Peace. Love you all and Merry Christmas! ![]() __________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne | |||

| Hi Everyone! ![]() Been really busy,,, but so is everyone else these days! Ahhh, the madness that we all share at this time of year! ![]() MyrnaLynne, That's nice that your work does Caroling! My hospital doesn't do that, and I wish they did...because it would be so much fun! And I would totally freak out if I saw a mouse in my kitchen! I have a severe phobia of mice and rats! I guess a lot of it stems from when I was a child and I could hear them chewing in the walls at night when I was trying to fall asleep. (shiver!)My mother would tell me these horrible stories that rats would eat babies faces off while they were in their cribs, and how they would eat the faces of the pasted out drunks in the streets at night that were laying in the gutters! ![]() I just KNEW that the rats that were chewing in the walls were going to come out and eat my face off while I slept! Needless to say, I hardly slept as a child and I can't hardly sleep as an adult either! (sigh) So, I just freak out when mice and rats are concerned. (shiver!) Maggie! It was sooo good to see you post! Have a Great Vacation and Holidays, and have a lovely visit with your Bro' and his family! ![]() Scottie, Have a Wonderful vacation and Holidays! And I too hope you can peek in and post sometime over your vacation too! ![]() Vero, Wow, so it's normal to have weddings during weekdays in the evenings, but it must be awfully hard to get up for work the next morning while after going to bed way after 2am! ![]() Poddy, Your poor friend who lost so much! It's just heartbreaking. She's very lucky to have you as a friend to be there for her because I truly believe you are an Angel here on Earth. ![]() Also, LOVE the Pizza Steal Clip! ![]() Hope Everyone is having a Great Day! ![]() Merry Christmas!!!
