| hey JOFs & JITs ![]() Wow ML I've been thinking about you and the snow storm SO glad you and the kids got a snow day.....nothing better than getting to cozy up at home and take the day off sorry your dog got hurt though always tough to watch innocent confused animals be hurt. I think everyone in Mr MLs family know what a tough fall you've had..they'll understand if you don't do as much as ussual...if they don't they should Glad dad is doing well...that must be a relief. Enjoy your baking ![]() vB For the record I'm no Angelina fan by any means......I just was wondering out load about her appeal.....like ML said she does have a fierceness that borders on insanity.....I'm not quite sure she is human...always thought she might be an alien but she's trying to do well so that's more than alot of stars do. Very cool you had such nice attention from the relatives....you have such a nice family....and about the second interview...I wish you success!!!!!Wen I'm so so sorry to hear about your brothers job gosh he must be freaked out but I'm sure he'll land on his feet. I SO SO agree with you andML about the outsorcing to china and india...usingthe "slave" labo r over there....taking advantage of ppl always has very harsh consequences..greed never pays in the end Way to go mom.....you deserve a comfy recliner for sure!!!!!! Hope your veins are calming down Scottie How sweet and special for you and Beth to have each other all this time Did you manage to turn her onto Roswell? My old friend went with me to NYC to my first little gathering....we mostly just did the city but it was so comical to watch her sitting in a chair in the corner being bemused and bored at the whole fan thing she still has never seen an eppisode. | Brava, Podmom for your Jason santa's! I laughed out loud at the second one - hopping on his Ducati to bring gifts to all the good boys and girls (and joy to their Mammas). Isn't it terrifically exciting to be creative using a new medium! My first photomanip wasn't so stellar - took a photo of Mr ML Jr and his cousin as little boys, and switched the head of the Carebear he was holding with the head of his (bratty) cousin! ![]() Yes those friends you make when you are around 12 and stay until you are 50+ are pretty special! Especially if you've moved around as much as I did growing up. Mr ML and my kids have lived in this one town, one house, their whole lives and have long time friends. Something to be said for staying put - although I suppose with the Internet, that's not a problem anymore! ![]() Snow day was terrific! Didn't hear from Mrs Boss, so I'm hoping she took a snow day herself (and wasn't mad as heck I didn't show). Only downside was, they showed the in-house video I 'danced' for Friday afternoon and I missed seeing my few seconds of 'fame.' I'm sure it would have been really embarrassing (we were wearing spider man gloves and sequinned masks and capes and dancing around to the Spider man theme outdoors). Must be what it's like for Jason - you make a movie and then years go by before you see it come out (if ever!) LOL! I suppose most of the fun is in the doing it, not in the finished project. I know some actors can't even stand to look at themselves onscreen! Which seems pretty neurotic/unprofessional to me - if you can't critique your own work, how to you do it better?I was right - two weeks away and immersion in Blood Ties and the new episode of 'Moonlight' hardly did anything for me at all last night. It was just a bunch of actors going through their motions. That's so sad. I know he has his own fan board at FF and people love him, but Jason Dohring is not a very good actor in this show. sigh. And surprisingly 'Numbers' wasn't even boring this week (and that's the most boring show on TV but for some reason, I watch it - I like David Krumholz and Maria's mother and the others). Veronica Mars' father guy in a hostage thing in the elevator with one of the FBI guys, pointing guns at one another - it was pretty dramatic (for Numbers! LOL!) ITA, Angelina Jolie is doing good things and seems genuine and more power to her for that (and probably is an alien, but we don't hold that against anyone!) ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| Hey all!! Been a little busy the last few days.... got my foot swelled up for some reason but I hope it'll go down by tomarrow morning or night at the latest. We're all going to this wedding (my mom's cosine's son is getting married) so I really want to be able to dance which can be a siriouse problem when you have a pain in your legs.... ML, Moonlight in Israel? I thought I might have seen a vempier like show somewhere but I'm not to sure it's the same one... we have only one as far as I've noticed so I'll have to find out the time and see if I can catch it....:shug: I love taking photographs too! I'd always rather take a pic then be in one... I just don't think I come of looking to well... BYW our digital camera got.... well I have no idea what happened to it but it just doesn't seem to work so we have to find a way to fix it.... Happy to hear you had such a wonderful Hanukah and that you're Christmas preps are moving a long nicely. ![]() Oh yea I job has at least 2,000 people trying for it and only6 something like 20 actually secceed to get it.... so yea it's a tough one to get but I'll be so happy to get it. It might be a little tough for a while but I believe it'll be worth it. ![]() Well I totally believe Angelina is a nut-case! But as for beautiful.... I totally don't think she's more bautiful then other actresses.... nothing much in my book. And I' don't think much of her as a moral person.... yea she's trevelling around the worl and trying to do good... in ASfrica and such and that is admirable but there are a lot of things she does that just contradict what she does over there.... I mentioned phoney and I stand corcrtly behind that one. That is so wonderful to have friends so long in your life. ![]() Sorry that Blood Ties comes off and won't be on DVD at the US. That's always sad to see a show you enjoy comes of the air.![]() So happy to hear you enjoied your snow day with MLette and Mr ML Jr! I remember once that we had snow over here (yea it has actually happened once) and my mom made me go to school! I was so angry with her after that.... but that's just her. Moved past that one.![]() Wen, I hope your legs are dong better by now... at least a little... ![]() I hope Lainie and your mom won't kill each other some day! I know there are some people in my family I'm not nuts about but we never fought like those 2 does so that's so wired for me... and kinda funny too. But I'm sure it's not allo that funny when they do that infront ogf you all the time....![]() I'm so sorry to hear about your brother and his department! That is just horroble! To be laid off at sunch an age and feeling so helpless! Well I don't really buy HP stuff so I guess I can join your boicotting.... Never like that company to much... That is sad that so many companies are doing that right now. I guess it's more important for them to save money and not take care of people who were with them for so long.![]() I hope Lainie did well in that test! It can be so stressing being late for one... which is why I never waited to long b4 I left home b4 going to one... I never wanted to take the chance. Have fun with your new chair! That's so cool your mom gave you that chair for Christmas! She might be hard tio get along with but apperently she can buy nice pressents. ![]() Scottie, I was so happy to get that letter that said they wanted me on the next level... but it's going to be complecated since all of those interviews/levels will take a long time to pass and in the mintime I'm jobless. I so want that job but I also have to find something in the mintime and that makes me nerveous.... I have a lot on my mind right now and a lot of decisions to make....![]() Lisa, I totally hope Jason will do more mainstream stuff too... but I only want that because then it'll be eazier fior me to see his movies... but I guess some of Jason's magic is the fact he's into the indie stuff.... podmommy! those Santa-Jason pics are just so adorable! Especialy the one near the Ducati! Reminds me of Michael in Rising Samuel.![]() I really have no idea how to use those photo programs so there's no way I'll be able to do anything like that. Totally sweet!Yea I'm pretty lucky to have my family... though they can def get on my nervs at times... Just this Shabath we had guests and they brought me those baloons for my birthday (since it wasn't that long ago). That was just so sweet of them. ![]() all__________________ Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.----- Baz Luhrmann You don't have to be crazy to be my friend.... | Oh-oh, Podmom is on a roll! LOL! Merry Christmas! I watched the Monk Christmas episode with Aaron Behr last night - amazed I remembered with all that is going on, but I made a sticky note, took it home, put it on the fridge. He had a pretty big part (he was the guy lugging the camera around with an obnoxious newscaster). Glad he is working. Oh well, if we can't look at Jason, we can look at his younger (but taller) brother. He's part of our 'family' too!WOW, we are having a terrible blizzard today. Started in the night and looks like a worse storm than the last one, and I didn't think that possible. And poor MLette had to get to work today on the other side of town, and I had to take out the dog (like the post office motto: 'rain, sleet, hail or snow' - they've gotta go out!) I shoveled off the car etc and made Mr ML get up and drive her and bring the car back because it was so terrible out and scary driving - street hadn't been plowed yet, about 4-6" of snow and blowing all around - big storm! ![]() Luckily we had a nice calm day, weather-wise, yesterday and we got groceries and also did some frantic Christmas gift shopping. We got about a dozen things, and we aren't done yet - but at least now I'm getting close and we won't be going down to Mr ML's sister's house for Christmas empty handed. sigh. I have been so cranky and stressed out though - my friend assures me this is menopause and I'll be in a murderous mood for, oh about a year, and then it'll go away! LOL! I was totally freaking out and stressing in the store yesterday! It's 'Blood Ties' that's playing in Israel now, VB not Moonlight (yet). Moonlight is playing in Australia. Blood Ties is a lot more like Buffy with supernatural crimes, a tough lady ex-cop detective, and her friends (and ex boyfriend) the police guy and her other friend, a vampire! It's an extremely cool show. She also has a funny Goth secretary. Both vampire and cop are in love with her (for mysterious reasons - she's pretty but she's tough and cranky and commitment phobic) - anyway, I like it. Liked it enough to go out and buy and devour the 5 books the show is based on! Vampire boy is very cute. Cop guy is very handsome in a tall, blond, square jawed, manly cop kind of way. ![]() Wow, I've never heard of a job that is that difficult to get - Oh, I know, you are going to be the next Prime Minister of Israel maybe! Well, you'd do a good job running things! ![]() Oh well, I can stay in the house today at least and hide from the snow - except to walk the dog - and go pick up MLette again after work tonight. I hope it stops snowing - it might turn into rain, which will be really messy (and then probably into ice). whimper__________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

Now let the wrapping begin I have done none I have most of the presents bought but have so so much wrapping ahead of me...been enjoying the calm before the storm down here at Vivs(although the wind IS firece here today....the surf is very rough but we so lucked out in the snow and ice department thankfully) last night I went to my HS friend gig....she is so good!!!!(base player) she played with an awsome guita player and a great female vocalist....jazzy standards done really well...I was blown away....and it was so nice and cozy at the place...I was glad I braved the crummy weather and drove out late all by myself...Viv stayed up for me like I knew she would but I get that too.So tonight after dinner at bros I go out with base player and the other HS friend that I have yet to see who is as I type still driving up from Miami with her husband.....it was just such a great thing that I ran into those girls this summer. Nice that Mlette brother drove her to work ![]() thanksvB ![]() everyone__________________ ![]() Last edited by podmom : 12-16-2007 at 11:27 PM. | |||

| Glad you lucked out with the stormy weather, Podmom and so cool your HS friend is in a jazz band and they are good. Sounds like a great time and like you'll have more good times with them. We did get the snow and the wind and then the rain and then the ice and it's so miserable and treacherous out, I can't begin to describe it (or stop whining about it!) LOL! Nervous about my kids driving on the icy streets today but what can you do? Mr ML Jr finally dug his car out of the snow (in the pouring freezing rain) yesterday - he was very very grumpy about it. I think I read with the two storms (Thurs and Sunday) we have 17 inches of snow? And silly me, I thought maybe the rain would wash the snow away, but there was so much snow, it just soaked up the rain and made it heavy and then froze and made it icy. Oy, it's so miserable! I'd never leave the house, but with a dog, I have no choice. ![]() I have to do more wrapping too - I try to do it as I go along and wrap stuff as I get it, but I haven't done it yet. It's so cold upstairs in our bedroom and that's where Gift Wrap Central is. I feel a lot better now that we have at least most of the gifts we need to bring. Thinking about baking something coffee cake-ish Monday night/Tues morning to bring to his sister's house. Hope the weather behaves and the driving isn't too crazy (worry worry worry). I can't believe how quick those cookies I baked on Friday disappeared - time to bake more! ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| Hi Everyone! ![]() MyrnaLynne, Poddy, Scottie, and all our East Coasters, I hope you all are Ok! I watched the News and just felt so bad for you all with that terrible weather you all got hit with! ![]() I'm curious if MyrnaLynne & Scottie stayed home from work today since the weather conditions and the roads are still so bad. I hope they can clear the roads back to some safe conditions again soon. Poddy, You don't wrap your presents as you get them?! That's the only way to stay ahead of them, as I've learned from experience. Got all my presents wrapped... but did it as I got them because there is no way with the way my back is, that I could do a major wrapping project for long periods of time. Also with the swelling of my legs, it's hard on my legs too to wrap for long periods. Gosh, I'm just falling apart! GAH! I'm anxiously awaiting to hear from the furniture store this week, as my new chair is suppose to come in this week, and then I'll have my new chair for Christmas... I can't hardly wait! Then I won't mind keeping my feet up in my new chair! I'm so excited, I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa! ![]() Oh, speaking of Santa, Poddy, nice Jason manips! Really cute! LOL! Vero, I hope Lainie and MOTHER don't end up killing each other too! No, no, it's not that bad... but they do argue a lot! ![]() They just know how to push each other's buttons that drives the other one crazy! (sigh)As for my swollen legs, they have come down somewhat, but are still very swollen. I've just resigned to the fact that they are here to stay regardless of what I do. (sigh) I see my Dr. next month, and we start from scratch again, but honestly, even he doesn't know what to do next! (sigh) My poor Dr., I hate to cause him so much grief. ![]() I hope everyone has a good day. | everyone!Sorry I've been a tad MIA, I took Friday off to attend a luncheon at my friend's house and go do a little shopping. At the luncheon, which was very nice, the most amazing dessert was served - gingerbread trifle! It was amazing. My friend baked a gingerbread cake and layered it with french vanilla pudding and Heath bars, crushed up. OMG it was good! ML - maybe you can find a recipe like that (I just google ingredients and something comes up!) and take that to your SIL's house. It was so yummy. I had a great weekend, went to a party given by one of my Pilates classmates on Saturday night. It was so fun. We had one of those "Yankee Swap" gift exchanges where you get to steal gifts from people, it was fun. I ended up with something that I can't really use, but it was still fun. Went shopping yesterday with my friends and their daughter who's 16 and very fun. She even carried most of the packages, her teeny little self is strong! I think I'm all done shopping now. and I'm one of those marathon wrappers, I buy it, pile it up and then wrap it in one fell swoop. I wish, Wen, that I was organized enough to wrap as I buy, but alas, I'm hopeless. Wen - I'm so happy about your chair! We have a soft leather recliner that we call "the marshmallow" b/c it's so soft and squishy and comfy. That was nice of Mother to get that for you. I hope Laine did well on her test, poor little stressed out thing . I don't do stress very well either and forget taking a test if I'm stressed. We didn't get anything near what ML's getting in New England, we got rain, a tiny bit of icing, mostly from rain turning to ice in the cold night temps. We're getting hit by terrible winds today and last night was INTENSE! My little Hazel hates wind, she doesn't understand what it is and she hides and frets the whole night. She goes into our hall bathroom, which doesn't have a window and hides all day. I guess it's sort of like a cave to her, dark and quiet. I can hear the wind howling outside right now. ML - you really got walloped with the bad weather! What a terrible couple of days you've had weather-wise.I thought Moonlight was pretty good on Friday night, but the ending had me wanting to hurt someone. I wanted Beth to go paint the town with Mick, but she had to go home to the cute-but-not-Mick boyfriend. Pooh! I guess evil vampire wife is on the prowl somewhere. So they've run out of scripts? I hate this writer's strike. Just give them what they want! ![]() VB - that's a bad situation you're in, wanting the new job, needing a job now and not knowing if you'll end up getting the one you really want. Good luck with that, hun! That's a whole lot of people interviewing for the same job! Funny what ML said about it being the Prime Minister of Israel! ![]() Podmom - once again, you crack me up with your Jason/Santa pics. Love them! I wish I could figure out how to do that stuff. I envy you walking on the beach yesterday, even though it was cold and windy, it must have been beautiful. Must go get something constructive done today. I'm not at full speed today! __________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne | |||

| No, Wen I went to work. Especially since I took a snow day on Friday already. Also because the subway is near my house and near where I work, I didn't really have an excuse to stay home (if I had to drive there, I'd never go in!) - but I sure wanted to stay home! I just walked the dog again after supper (and before supper) and the sidewalks are totally treacherous and icy. It's just so scary trying to get around, I hate it! And if they salt and sand them to death - then they hurt the dog's paws! It's a no-win situation. I am so ready to pack my bag and go someplace warm and never return - hmm, wonder if Jason and Kadee have a spare room. ![]() Your gingerbread/heath bar trifle at that party sounds incredible, Scottie. Mr ML made us strawberry shortcake for dessert yesterday - well, he bought pound cake, frozen strawberries, and a spray whipped cream. It was pretty yum. Gosh I am so sick of the Yankee Swap! Mr ML's family does that at Christmas as sort of an 'entertainment' (his bossy older sister's idea of course) but try to find a $10-15 gift that a man, woman, girl or boy might like! Impossible! It ends up being stuff nobody wants and if it's nice, somebody takes it from you, and my niece insists her little kids who don't understand the concept play too, and then they get upset (even one of the teenagers got upset when she lost her gift last year) - and niece puts in toys for them - which of course nobody else wants - don't get me started on Yankee Swap! LOL! It was funny the first couple of years but it's just an annoying 4 extra presents we need to bring if we want to participate. I don't think I did it last year - I might not do it this year either. We'll see. And if Mr ML's bossy sister makes us sing 12 Days of Christmas and assigns parts again, I might stick the Christmas tree up her butt... Sorry - a little cranky this time of year! ![]() That's too bad that wind scares Hazel. My friend who has a bunch of dogs has some who den up in the closet too. It is a nice safe 'cave' for them. Yes, what was up with Beth rushing home when Mick wanted to go have fun with her and show he a good time in NY? Well, I think the Josef/Sarah situation hit too close to home and freaked her out and she wanted some space. Josh was just an excuse because he pretty much broke up with her before she left LA with Mick. It would have made more sense if Mick wanted to rush home, because Coraline was maybe dying in the hospital. He was so worried about her - and then he takes off for NYC and forgets about her. That show was good, but it was odd. I am just not warming up to Jason Dohring as Josef with that tiny jack o lantern mouth of his. They have two more Moonlight episodes in the can and that's it for now, but Alex O'Loughlin said he'd seen the scripts for 13-16 - maybe they just can't make them because of the strike. sigh. I'm sure, even if the writers are on strike, they can't help THINKING about their shows and coming up with ideas - it's almost impossible for a writer not to write. ![]() Got to go bake cookies or do laundry or wash my hair, since nothing is on tonight (except for Journeyman). __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| Hey all! So last night the whole family went to this wedding and it was nice.... but the wedding ceremony was sorta cheesy and the hall where everything was at was way upclass and soooo not nice and welcoming.... but everybody I was close to was there and we had fun laughing about everything and dancing to the sound of some of the most horroble choices of songs! To funny! The groom (our side) used to work for this past Prime Minister (General Sharon if you guys remember) so there were some big hot shots there. A lot of ministers and some d gread celebraty. It was just so funny that they were there.... and so wired to... well as long as the bride and groom enjoied everything that's ok.... I guess. Still had a nice time seeing everyone. ML, I'm so sorry to hear about the cold blizzery snowy weather you're having over there! It's actually pretty nice over here... sunny and all... (hint hint )we had some rain this year but not much at all. Sorry you had to go to work yesterday.... but at least you had one snow day. Some people (namely me) never had one of those.![]() I thought it was Blood Ties but I got comnfused I guess... I havn't been able to catch it but I think I know exactly the kind of show you're talking about. I saw ads for a show with almost the same translation-name so I know on what channel it is... now I just have to find out the day and the time which won't be that hard. I used to love Buffy at the beginning. It was such a nice show at the 1st few seasons... but then it turn way to wired, like most series do. Which is way a small part of me is glad that Roswell ended when it did. I would have hated to stop liking it all together. Well I might be ogenized about some stuff but being a Prime Minister in Israel would be one of those jobs I would never want to do. You hardly have any real friends when you do it and it's one of the hardest things you have to do! Totally though thing to do!Well obviouse that stealing game doesn't work to well for your family.... I mean if you have like kids who are just not old enough to play this game playing and no one's really enjoying themselfs then maybe you should just stop. It reminds me a little of the 'Aphikoman' in The Seder (Passover). When we were kids we used to steal it from each other and the grown ups used to always want us to let the little kids play to but then they would have started screaming when it was stolen from them! I mean they were just way to young for that so why should we let them play? Anyway I hope you'll still be able to enjoy it if you guys are still going... at least little.podmommy! oooo! I bet you'll win that! You always have those great smilies and wonderful way of putting them at th right post! Good uck with that! That is so nice you're getting together with all of theose old HS friends! Sounds like so much fun! It's always great metting old friends. ![]() Good luck wraping all of those gifts.... it looks like you have a lot of stuff to do b4 Christmas get's here.... I knwo I would have so not get along well with all of those present shopping and warping... This is when Wen's Signature come in mind. G-D only lets you deal with what you obviousely can!![]() Wen, those legs of you worried me so much! I just know you won't be stying foot (at bed) at rest all the time and that means they'll probebly get worse. I hope your dr. will have some new ideas by nxt month.![]() I guess some people just rub each other wrong... thing is that you can usually just get away from those king of people.... but when they're a part of your immediate family that's becomes a BIG problem.... Those 2 just have to find a way to get a long.... but then it doesn't look like they really want to.... ![]() Scottie, that is so great you're having fun with the partying and the shopping now. ![]() Well I really don't like ginger so I don't see meself liking gingerbread... but as long as you do.![]() I so sorry to hear Hazel is so afraid of the wnds. | LOL, too funny the overly fancy wedding with the government ministers and minor celebrities - sounds like one of those social weddings to impress people, but then, maybe the bride and groom are actually friends with those people. Sounds like you had a good time! Dancing to terrible music! LOL! I was just joking - I have no idea why anybody would want to be President or Prime Minister with war and terrorists and all the responsibility for so much and all the criticism from everybody, people always making fun of you (especially if you are President Bush - ahem). You see people go into that office and they come out looking like old men, worn out and tired. At least the ones who arent' lazy! I'm glad we'll get a new president but I don't know who it should be/who will do the best job.My Uncle is nice and gives a prize ($) to all the kids at the Passover seder who look for the Afikomen, not just the one who finds it - this avoids the stealing it and fighting over it. My dad glossed over the hiding the Afikomen part at his seder so he could move things along and not have to give out any prizes! Sneaky! And after the festive meal, my mother would usually not want to bother with the 2nd half of the Seder either! LOL! Not the proper holiday attitude! This Yankee Swap, everybody picks a number and then opens gifts in turn from a big pile of gifts (each person who plays puts one in, obviously). #1 is the best because, since you had no choice, once all the gifts are open, you get a chance to swap yours for everything that everybody else has opened. So #2 can keep his or swap it for #1 gift, #3 can take his or take the gift of #1 or #2 person, and so on. It's really ridiculous. Usually there is something that is popular and gets traded back and forth (making a lot of people disappointed) and there is usually a lot of laughter (but also sometimes people get really mad about it!). Last year Mr ML put in this big ceramic penguin as sort of a joke gift and it was the hit of the evening - it got traded back and forth a lot, while everybody laughed their heads off at who would want that thing. It was funny. Also last year the kids were tromping around on top of the packages in their excitement, and Mr ML opened a little hand-held video game and the screen was smashed because one of the kids stepped on it. You can only go into it hoping you end up with something you might mildly like or have any use for, and not get attached to anything you open, and not get your hopes up (and hope nobody throws a tantrum over it). There is also a good chance you might go home with something you put in, what with the trading and all. (So if you put in something to get rid of it - it might be back anyway! LOL!) Which is pretty sad for a 'game' that is supposed to be fun! The family is usually pretty kind, if they see somebody really likes something, and the person is younger, they don't take it away from them. But it's still stupid.I hope Wen's doctors figure out the story of her puffy legs and feet and can fix her up too - this has gone on a long time and it sounds so bad, especially during the holidays with so much to do and places to go. sigh. Some medical stuff is mysterious. My brother got some infection in his lung last year and it took forever for the doctors to figure out what it was (and that it wasn't cancer - phew), and how to treat it and how to make it go away. sigh. Medicine, for all the doctors pretend to know everything, isn't an exact science! That show 'Journeyman' really is very good. It's weird because I don't like the main guy - he's odd looking and makes all these grimacing sort of faces - but the acting, and writing, and whole scifi time travel thing and the family stuff at home (inconvenient when your husband/dad/brother keeps vanishing and leaping back in time to fix stuff and then popping back again) keeps me watching it. I don't know if anybody else is watching it (or if the ratings are bad and it's getting the axe). It looks like an expensive show to produce too and with the writers strike, they are counting their pennies. Especially cool when he accidentally changes something in the past and he gets home and the world is different - don't you hate that! LOL! ![]() Oh, I just checked at NBC and there is a message from the show creator that there will be one more show and that's it - network didn't pick up the 'back nine' and so the show is essentially over. Not surprised but that's too bad, it was quality television but TV can't seem to afford to do much of that anymore. Airing the last episode on Wed 12/19 - glad I saw that or I'd have missed it. ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 12-18-2007 at 07:52 AM. | |||

| Hi Everyone! ![]() I was so glad to see you all posting today. (Worried Rosmom Syndrome strikes again!) I get so worried when something like this major storm hits and I anxiously await for everyone to post and say that they are all right! So, I'm glad to know that you all are safe and sound. Gosh, those icy sidewalks tho'! Please be careful MyrnaLynne. I don't want not even a single hair on your head hurt! ![]() And Petco has little booties for dogs to help protect their little feet. It might be worth a look-see for Elmo to protect his paws. Years ago, when I still lived in MA, I had my Vanilla (my beloved German Shephard) and her paws used to get so trashed with all that salt and ice cutting up her paws when I took her out to go potty. My poor girl. She never complained, but would lick and lick her wounds, and of course it was a bugger to get her to stop licking when I had to put the medicated ointment on her.I used to end up wrapping her feet up with face clothes and then plastic bags over them and she HATED it, but she got kind of used to it while I took her out to go potty. She used to pick her feet up so high while walking and would try to shake those contraptions off of her feet. And she'd look at me like I was CRAZY! My poor girl. LOL! Gosh I miss her... Brought her to CA with me too, and I had her for 17 yrs. She was such a Great Girl! (sigh)Oh, about my new chair... MOTHER helped chip in with me so I could 0get it. She didn't pay for it totally, but I appreciated her chipping in with me so much! ![]() On Christmas Eve, we all go up to my Bro's and kind of do a Yankee Swap but different. We sit in a circle and there are a pile of wrapped presents (provided by my Bro') on the table in the middle of us. Then we roll a pair of dice in a cup and when a person rolls doubles, they get to take a present. Then once all the presents are taken, then a 5 or 10 minute timer is set and we continue to roll and if a person rolls doubles, they get to steal a present from anyone that they choose. It gets pretty intense as the minutes count down! LOL! Then after the timer goes off, everyone opens there presents and you never know what you're going to get with my Bro's strange sense of humor! Oh, and there is always a lump of coal too for the unlucky one that chose that gift! LOL! I must say, we do have fun with that game! ![]() Oh, and the gifts,... sometimes it's wonderful chocolates, and sometimes it's a cheap plastic raincoat! LOL! You just never know what you are going to get! LOL! Then after all the presents are opened, that's when the bargaining starts and peeps start swapping each other for presents that they want. It is a fun game. ![]() And of course they have all kinds of munchies to pick on and we have a good time visiting till late, and we usually don't get home till around midnight. That's when we start putting all the presents under the tree... a tradition started long ago when the kids were little because they were too curious and we just couldn't keep them out of the presents, as they'd peek and shake them and so we just kept them in my bedroom with the understanding that they were NOT allowed to touch them in there, and they didn't. Then one present was allowed to be opened by the kids... usually a gift from each other, and they'd be happy! Then it was off to bed and then Santa would come and fill their stockings (that I hand made, embroidered & needlepoint), and then Santa would leave them their one gift to each of them, unwrapped of course because Santa doesn't wrap his presents in our house! That way in the morning, they would see right away what Santa brought them under their stocking. ![]() Well, remember the "Final" Lainie took last that she was late for and was super stressed about? She ended up getting an A on it, and a B for the class! Yay Lainie! ![]() She was sure she did badly on it, and she ended up aceing it! LOL! Guess she was too stressed to notice that she was getting the anwers right! LOL! Scottie, I'm glad to hear that you had so much fun with your friends this weekend, and got to go shopping too! Glad the weather wasn't so bad for you! I tend to worry. ![]() Vero, Don't worry so much about me and my legs because I look at it this way... they checked me for all the major reasons that were life threatening, but all came back negative,... so that's a Good Sign! And as far as Lainie and MOTHER are concerned, they don't fight all the time... just very often. (sigh) And you are so right...it is tough when it's immediate family! ![]() I hope everyone has a Great Day! ![]() Hugs to All, ![]() Wen __________________ JB's Obsessed Fan#64 ( I LOVE JASON BEHR!!!) ![]() "God never gives you more than you can handle.
