Hey all!!!
Had another lovely day yesterday! Went to the gym in the morning and just lazed around for a while b4 cleaning up the place a little. So why did I do some cleaning? Well my mom told me some friends of my sister will come over and the place was a muss so I fixed it up... thing is.... that when 9:00 pm came around it wasn't my sister's friends that came by but my own. They wanted to surprise for my birthday (they couldn't come right on the day so they cam,e as close as they could to that day)! I was shocked, because usually we just say happy birthday to each other on the phone and that's that! And what was more surprising was that they came with no hubbies and no kids which was a 1st since the 1st one got married (6 years ago) . I just had a lovely time with them! We just sat around talking and laughing. I was totally surprised! It was a great surprise! They best b-day present I got in a while if you ask me.

ML, you're def right life is to short... and we should def enjoy our time over here! Family and friends is df the way to go!
I've tasted sweet potato latkes! Those are pretty great... but in my house we usualy do the normal potato ones and when I saw the recepie I just decided to give it a shot and it worked out great! My friends had some too and they said it came oyut great!
You're right! No matter what it's almost impossible to get away from Christmas songs. I mean I'm in a Jewish country that doesn't officially celebrates Christmas and I still know my fare share of Christmas songs. Some of them are actually pretty nice.
Sorry about the ennoying project! Some people just shouldn't be the boss of anyone... But then you can't really run away from them.... I hope you found those documents by now and that you don't have to re-type those. That would be just wrong!

Scottie, thanks for the b-day wishes! And a day after doesn't lessen for the wishes... at least not for me.
Oh we def have the greatest taste in mam!!!
Sorry to hear you're son didn't show up... but you'll get to see hime soon enough so that's good.
Good luck with that pedomater resolution! That's great that you bought one! I def wouldn't have been able to stick to it at home. I need to be in a certain environment to actually do that... which is why I go to the gym.
Glad you had a good time at the outing with your hubby. And I'm def happy to hear he's feeling much better with his sholder and all.

Wen, thanks for the birthday wishes! Well as it turns out we decided to postpone the 2nd celebratin.... we'll still do it but we have a lot of bat-mitzvas and weddings coming up and I'm still tryng to lose the little wight that I've gained so I can look good at those so we'll wait for a while and then go somewhere. If we won't my dad will take that really hard (and so will my brother, grandma and mom's aunt since they weren't at that little celebration me my mom and me sis had) so we will have to do it at some point.
OMG! You just have to relax taking your mom everywhere and doing everything for her! You just have to remember that you can't do everything with those legs! You remind me of my mom so much! She still is trying to do everything, even with her hip causing her so much pain! You both have to take batter care of your selfs!

podmommy, thanks! I'd actually send you some... but I think that won't work out though the net and all. Everyone loved them... well other then my dad who couldn't have tried them and was wonderful with causing me a wonderful guilt trip! But that's dad.... I'll have to think about it the next time I'll do them... maybe put a sugar replacement instand of the sugar.... But everyone else said it was really good so I'm happy it came out good.
Well I think I'm the one person who doesn't think Angelina Joli is all that much... I don't find her that great looking I don't find her that intetresting. I really don't know what people see in her.... I have no idea why... I just don't. I even find her phony in a way....

Hi Everyone!

Quick post...

Yes, it's my own fault for being in this situation. I pushed myself too hard, and am paying for it now. It was that I was just so sick of staying in the house going stir crazy, so when my sweet Dr. told me that I could go out for short periods, I over stepped my boundaries and stayed out looooong periods. Now I'm paying for it.

My Dr. is now worried about a couple of areas of my legs that are threatening to split open, and I can barely bend my knees too, as they are too swollen as well. (sigh) So, I'm being a good girl and staying put.

And yes, my Lainie is saying "I told you so!" She's not even complaining about being on full cooking duty either! (Usually we switch off, one night I cook and the next night she cooks).

MyrnaLynne, for feeling down. Hopefully, you are having a better day today.

Vero, I'm so glad you had such a nice Bday with your Mom and Sis. Hopefully they won't postpone you 2nd bday for too long.

Poddy, I'm glad to hear that your sis is taking Big Viv for a month! You deserve the rest sweetie!
And I'm glad you liked my Bro's UTube video. He did do a good job, if I do say so myself.

Kinsey, because I'm thinking of you, and for all you have to do this month. It's a lot to do in just a few weeks! Hopefully everything will go smoothly for you!

Scottie, I'm so glad to hear that the Mr. is feeling a little better. Still sending [Healing Vibes] his way for a complete speedy recovery.

And wishing all the JOF's and JIT's a Wonderful Holiday Season!!!

Lots of Hugs,
Wen

Oh Wen! Your poor legs! I'm glad you checked in, and I'm glad you're following the doc's advice and staying put. I think all of us here completely understand how you can feel so cooped up and tired of bedrest that you take a short trip out to the next level and over do it. Why does it take risking a dangerous situation to make us follow the doc's advice to the letter? We're sometimes superwomen and want to do it all. I wish I could help you somehow, but it's wonderful that Laine's helping you out so much. I hope you feel better soon!

Podmom - I'm a lot like VB when it comes to Angelina Jolie. She doesn't do all that much for me (but then again I think she did for Mr. Scottie!). In Beowulf, she plays Grendal's mother and she always appears in a slinky gold outfit. She looks damn good it it too! But she's not my favorite actor, I'm much more ianterested in the craggy character actors who've earned their fame by their talent and not their boobs and lips. (there, I said it!)

Have fun visiting with your old HS friend in OC, that's great that you can get together. My best friend's name is Beth, and we've known each other for over 35 years. We went to HS together, then were roommates in college, she's my son's godmother and I'm godmother to one of her daughters (who's a Redskins cheerleader now!). We even go to the same Pilates class and we're in a couple of volunteer organizations together. So we're still very close. It's wonderful to have relationships like that.

VB - What a great surprise you had with your friends on your birthday! I'm so happy that you had a great time (and without children!). Just the girls, sounds wonderful to me.

I talked to my sister in North Carolina this morning; the temperature hit 81 degrees there yesterday. Crazy weather!

to all!

Oh Wen, that is awful about your legs. I do hope they improve and I'm so glad you have Lainie there to help.

My sister's hands are almost always red but in the winter they go deep purple and everyone comments on it and try to warm them up and she absolutely HATES the attention. Red hair, purple hands, taller than most. She's always noticable and wants to be short with brown hair and normal veins.

Hey all!
Last candle of Hanukah was last night. That was officially my Jewish birthday but I just got a few happy birthdays which was really fine by me after all of the great time I had this past week..
Remember that job I was onderring of whether to send resume to? Well I got a letter back yesterday and they wanted me on the next level!!! There are 4 levels and I know I'm only at the 1st one which means I might not get anything out of it but the fact I got acknowledged is just amazing to me so I'm so happy! I'll go and take the tests and we'll see how that'll work out.

Wen, your legs might split??? Oh poor you! I'm so happy Lainie is there to help you out! You have to listen to the doc now! No more crazy shopping sprees with mother! You hear? I hope you'll feel well again anad soon.
Well like I've said after the amazing time I had with my mom and sister and with my friends I really don't mind. I just don't want dad and bro to feel more left out then they do so we'll have to do it at some point. But I'm in no rush.

Scottie, good to know I'm not alone on the Angelina front. Whenever I say that I don'tv think she's all that much people look at me as if I've just grown a 2nd head. I just don't get all of thye excitment really...
81? That's a lot! Isn't it suppoused to be winter in the US? I guess not in all places.
I know I'm still buzzed about the fact the came all alone. They came to see me b4 but it was always with at least 2 of the kids. And when it came to birthdays we usualy just talkd on the phone so I never even saw that one coming. It was rally great!
It's so wonderful that you're this close to a HS friend. That's really great. One of my friends (well the best-friend) was with me in elementry school (we became really good friends at 6th gread) and then we were in HS together... we don't have the whole G-Dmother thing but we're still close and that feels great. It's always wonderful to have that kind of a friend in your life. One who has been there in every important mile-stone n your life.

mezz, well I bet it's ennoying to her that everyone are trying to pemper and take care of her all the time.... it can be really ennoying.

ML, hope you had a wonderful night with that last candle.

Hanukah ended last night pretty nicely, although I tried to take a picture of the menorah with all 8 candles burning (so pretty) and the batteries in both cameras were dead! Oh well, no candle pix this year. MLette took some pix of me during Hanukah posing with various gifts. giggle. We seem to have switched places and now she's taking cute pix of her Mom instead of me taking cute pix of my kids.

Mr ML Jr bought me a season ticket to one of the lottery games! I was so excited - actually something I'd wanted but never gotten myself. He is really improving in the thoughtfulness department. Was kind of an odd holiday all in all - nobody gave anybody any calendars this year, I couldn't find the chocolate apricots Mr ML Jr really likes - it was just very low key and different. Way too many practical gifts of clothes! LOL! Although I loved the socks and pajamas I got. We were all just very unprepared, I guess because of all the stuff with my Mom and Dad this year. sigh. Finally unwrapped and opened my Skinwalkers DVD but didn't have a chance to look at it yet. Maybe Saturday night, when Mr ML Jr watches his anime stuff.

VB that's great news you did well and they want to test you more for that job! I hope you get it! (I'm glad all your Ros-mothers told you to go for it!) But four levels of testing! That sounds like one really hard-to-get job!

The southern half of the US doesn't usually get winter (that's why all the North people like to retire down there! Sick of snow and ice and being cold!) North Carolina is sort of in between south and north, so I think they get a little winter but it can be hot sometimes too. Plus with all this global warming stuff, the weather has been acting crazy everywhere. We got rain last night and it's warmer today, which helped with all that ice, but tomorrow is supposed to be snow.

My poor dog really hurt his paw on the ice and with the salt. He is limping around and licking his foot a lot. It's very sad. Well, it's almost time for his annual vet visit anyway, maybe we'll go a little sooner. Poor guy.

I sort of like Angelina Jolie - I think she's pretty and kind of fierce, but I also think she's probably frikkin nuts. She was crazy when she was younger - people don't usually get over being crazy (unless it was just an act to shock people) - she has just grown up and learned to hide it better, imho. She's very odd - but suddenly adopt a few kids and do a little charity, and everybody thinks she's Mother Theresa. Oh well, I suppose people can grow up and change. And she did have a fairly dysfunctional Hollywood type childhood. I think Brad Pitt is probably kind of odd too, and they seem to have a complimentary oddness that works for them! I do think she's partly responsible for all the freakish collagen duck-lips in Hollywood - they all want to look like her, but she was born with that pillowy mouth -it's natural!

Oh poor Wen that leg stuff sounds so scary, and it doesn't seem to be giving you a break! Wish there was a magic pill or cream that would make it get better instantly! Take care of yourself!!!

Your brother's singing and performing is very cool. Kind of envy him, that he went for it, at least as a side thing. Music is a gift and you should share it!

VB I have a friend I met the summer after 6th grade (we took a class together) and we've been friends ever since!

Mezz you have a very colourful sister (unfortunately in more ways that one). HUGS! I think Jason has the hands that turn red too.

Yesterday was a crazy day at work - Mr Boss actually came over to see me to discuss those stupid letters (he looked better, last time I saw him he coudln't walk/was in a wheelchair), even though I told him I figured them out over the phone and not to come (he works across town and I might see him once or twice a year) - and of course he added in 3 or 4 more people to send this important letter and packet of info to -sigh. Anyway, got those done and sent out (yay!) And of course at the same time, the hospital accreditation inspectors staged a surprise visit on my Mrs Boss and she suddenly needed me to create all sorts of documents they wanted her to have on the spot (like tricky organizational charts - I am so not good at some of this stuff, it's like 'teach yourself how to do it' while you are doing it - in a big rush!) It was certainly "A Day" yesterday!

Oh well, Friday is getting closer (and a new episode of "Moonlight" - yay!). I still haven't mailed my friends' gifts, or ordered any lovely gift baskets for my brother or Dad (I decided what to order for my dad, but I couldn't get into the company website!) and we have absolutely nothing as far as Christmas gifts for Christmas for the Mr ML relatives. Nothing at all. Like the 'not doing cards this year' sister, I just want to say "We're not doing Christmas this year, okay?" sigh. Not okay. I just resent being expected to buy toys for 5 kids I haven't seen since last Christmas and have no idea what they might like. And a previous year, I asked the mother and bought a really expensive video game for one kid - and she turned around and bought him the same game, so when he opened it, all he said was "Oh, I have this already." (I wanted to kill her.) Not exactly the holiday spirit! LOL! Oh well... this too will pass!

Feel better, Wen! Sending leg and foot shrinking healing vibes your way, sweetie!

Back to say I found out they ARE releasing a Blood Ties DVD - in the UK!! So unfair. Hope they have a US/Canada version that we can see (duh, they make it in Canda). I don't want to watch it on my computer. It's just not the same. Well, it is the same, but not as good. Oh well, all good things come to him (and her) who wait! I'm waiting (tap tap tap of my little impatient foot).

Hi Everyone!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and healing vibes! I sure do appreciate them!!! You gals are the Best!

I'm just sneaking on here for a moment because I've been having terrible computer withdrawal, especially visiting this place! So here I am! I won't be on long tho'.

MOTHER has cabin fever a lot so she had Lainie carting her around yesterday! But she Really likes when I take her out and about because remember, she and Lainie are like oil and vinegar! They don't mix well at all! Lainie refuses to cottle her, and so she calls her a "heartless bi*ch".

MOTHER's famous saying is "I can't do that." and won't EVEN try! And Lainie does NOT except that for an answer, and demands that she tries. (sigh) And I'm usually stuck in the middle. (double sigh)

Lainie is MOTHER's chore worker and cleans her apt. and does her shopping, basically be at her disposal when she wants her. Well, because they don't get along so well, she will let Lainie clean her apt. and do her grocery shopping but that's about it... all the rest of the stuff she wants ME to do it... like take her shopping (like clothes shopping, or just for fun shopping) and that kind of stuff.

And I usually end up bringing her home with me, and she'll have supper with us and then Lainie or I will bring her home, in which Lainie grumbles about later to me... "Why does SHE have to be over EVERY night?!"

Well, last night, Lainie ended up bringing MOTHER over yesterday after she did her chores for her, because she wanted to see how I was doing. Lainie was not happy and basically just stayed in her room. (sigh)

Ok, enough about that.

Well, my Bro' got some bad news yesturday. It seems that HP is moving his dept's opporations to China, and so his whole dept got laid off offically as of Feb.1st!

These damn companies keep doing this!

It was 3 years ago this month that my poor Brent was laid off by Earthlink because they moved his dept's opporations to India!

So here my Bro' is 51 yrs old, with one kid in college, one a senior in high school, and a sophomore in high school, and his wife (who is a teacher) works part-time because that's all that's available in their area. For a full time job, she'd have to commute for over an hour each way, so she decided it's not worth it with the way the gas prices are.

My bro' is freaking out because he's saying: "Who is going to hire a 51 yr old when there are much younger guys out there willing to take less money!"

I remember I freaked out when I was laid off at the age of 34, but it worked out Ok, because I went back to school and discovered that nursing was for me!

I told him that if he wanted, he could go back to school too and go into something else other than computers that he does now, but his head is spinning right now from the blow.

He still can't believe that after giving HP 24 years of loyal survice, that they could just hand him a pink slip and not try to place him somewhere else in the company! He's devastated to say the least.

So now, not only am I boycotting Earthlink, I am now boycotting HP products too! These companies make me soooo mad!

I hope everyone is having better days than my family.

We will survive, so don't worry. It's got to get better because it can't get any worse!

Hope everyone has a Great Day!

Hugs to All,
Wen

Just flying by because work is nuts! But I gotta say "hey" to my girls!

VB - so glad that you're getting a call back for that job! Glad you went after it and hopefully you'll move to the next level. My gosh though, four levels of interviews is intense!

ML - that's adorable that MLette is now taking cute mommy pics of you. I don't think my son's taken four pictures in his entire life, unless it was a cell phone picture. He just isn't into photography and I wish he was so I could get some pics from him for his scrapbook. Does MLette like photography?

Thanks for letting us know that Moonlight is a new ep this week. I'm already feeling tv withdrawal and the influx of reality/game shows is getting on my nerves.

Wen - that's horrible news about your brother, I'm so sorry that happened to him, what a bummer! Especially at Christmastime. I'll boycott HP along with you. I always liked Dell products (but I know a lot of people who've had trouble with them too), and we're in the market for a new laptop soon. HP might not miss my business, but I'll enjoy sticking it to them right along with your brother. I hope he finds something that he loves and that this whole nightmare was just a push to find a new direction for him. Good luck to bro!

Poor Laine, having to put up with Mother and her antics. God bless her!

Jim Ortlieb (Nasedo) was on a repeat of Bones last night. It was good to see him. Like the actor -- hate Nasedo!

everyone!

Oh Wen your poor brother!!! I'm so sorry he lost his job. Mr ML's 50ish brother got laid off and it was a long time before he got another job and 2 kids in college (and his wife a teacher too, but full time). But he was also fussy, wouldn't take any steps down. He's back working again but it took awhile. Scary times!

Yep, this is the way our country is going right now, jobs overseas, us down the drain! I am so worried Mr ML (and Mr ML Jr's) company is going to close up/lay them off at any minute/without warning. The music distribution industry is pretty much going the way of the buggy whip (and radio vaccum tube) industries. sigh. Luckily Allison Kraus just put out another hit record (with Robert Plant) - I swear that woman alone keeps his company in business.

And my bosses have been ill and are around (young) retirement age - I keep thinking we might all get laid off at once! LOL! then MLette will have to support us. Is this the singing brother? That just stinks out loud. Can't boycott HP too much, as I have their printers at work and at home. Frikkin China and India anyway, they're taking all the jobs and we're all going to be living on the dole. I blame President Bush! LOL! (although I blame him for pretty much everything these days). But this started probably 20+ years ago when the shoe business went overseas and all the factories my dad worked for closed up. Handwriting on the wall. <sadly shaking head>

It's SNOWING here! They predicted a blizzard would start at noon time and they were only off by an hour - probably 3-4 inches has fallen already. Everybody else on my floor at work has gone home hours ago. They were saying maybe 6 inches before it stops. Going to stop tomorrow and then maybe another foot of snow over the weekend! ? Oh man, winter is here! Glad I take the subway and don't drive! Hope the subway keeps running or I'm going to be sleeping under my desk tonight!

Yes Scottie MLette is into photography. She tried to snap a picture of our dog lying on the rug at Hanukah with his new stuffed toy, but it was a black dog and a dark brown otter on a dark brown rug and it didn't really turn out very well - but in person, it was very cute! I was really into photography too til Mr ML got me a digital camera and my brain wasn't ready to switch over to digital and it pretty much caused me to stop taking pictures. Which is pretty sad. And typical of me and the weird mental blocks I get about stuff.

Jim Ortleib is a sweetie! I met him at the first Roswell party. LOL, started to tell him I'd written a fanfic about Nasedo and then realized it was a 'slashy' thing and I couldn't tell him about it! His wife was there too. Nice nice man (evil evil Nasedo). I'm glad he's working. If you were ever on Roswell, you're 'family'!

I guess Moonlight guy is going home to Australia for the holidays, since they're laid off until the writer's strike stops anyway. I have no idea how all this is going to end up - except crappier shows on TV for us. Read an interview with Jason Dohring, he's thinking of taking his wife and going over there to visit too. I can't believe a guy 24 has a wife but I guess I'm thinking about my delayed-development children! He's such a California surfer boy too, all 'dude' and 'man' and 'cool'! LOL such a boy.

The vampire boy on 'Blood Ties' is a year younger than MLette! Only thing that keeps me from seriously ogling him. I'm so sad that show is done and stupid Lifetime isn't on their knees begging them to make another season of it, it's so popular. sigh. Oh well, the ways of TV are mysterious, to say the least. I thought it was Buffyish, but then I realized Tanya Huff wrote the 'Blood' series before Buffy was even a glimmer in Joss Whedon's eye (written in the late 1980s, published in early 1990s).

Poor Lainie - she sounds like how I got along with my mother - oil and water! My mother was like that when she was sick with my dad, acting helpless, but then the home care worker came and put her through her paces and got her to cooperate. sigh. It's a tough situation all around.

We've got to keep posting and keep the post count up and keep the JB board alive! What would we do without this place?! It's our home!

I see another banner and stories Max has cooties and Max is dead. really gets to me. I know pathetic. My mom needs me strong not ticked off.

Thanks for the support about boycotting HP! (Bad HP! Very Bad HP!)

And MyrnaLynne, yes, it's the singing bro'... actually he's my only sibling.

I hope you got home safe and sound with all that snow. That's one thing I don't miss... freezing weather and snow...ok, that's 2 things.

OMB, about your Bro-in-law that got laid off in his 50's too and had a hard time finding a job! It's scary to say the least! Glad he eventually found one that suited him.

My Bro' is still stunned at this point. He's still at that: "I don't know what I'm going to do!" stage. He does have some savings, but that won't last forever. He's truly sick about this.

He really thought that with being with HP for 24 years, that his job was secure. HA, guess again... this is big business and they don't give a flying leap about their employees! It all boils down to the almighty dollar, and how much they can save by axing and screwing their loyal employees.

And they are not even going to try to help them get another job, or try to place them somewhere else in the company! Grrrrr! It just makes me so angry!

Ok, rant over.

So MLette likes taking pictures... that's really nice! Does she use your digital camera too?

My Lainie likes taking pictures too... she also took some photography classes in college and in HS. She had lots of fun with it. She's been so busy with school tho' that she really hasn't taken any pictures in awhile. But when the dogs do something cute, or she sees something interesting, she moans: "Awww, I wish I had my camera!"

She's taking her finals this week and next week, so she's one stressed out young lady, and adding my mother to the situation is not good at all!!!

As a matter of fact, she was so exhausted tonight that she threw herself in bed at 7pm and so I took mother home and didn't disturb Lainie.

As it was this morning, there was an accident on the freeway which made her about 10 minutes late for her final, and the professor still let her in the classroom (thank goodness), but that made her more stressed even before she took the test which wasn't good. Poor Lainie, she doesn't do stress well. She looked like she was ready to jump right out of her skin!

I asked her how she thinks she did, and she snapped: "I don't know! I could barely think because I was so stressed out! I don't want to talk about it." and she went in her room and slammed the door.

Now Lainie is normally not like that! So I just let it go and gave her, her space. Later, she was much better, and went to MOTHER's to do some things for her and brought her back with her because she wanted to see how I was doing.

Well, MOTHER surprized me with an early Christmas present! I've had my eye on this over-stuffed reclining rocking chair and it's on sale this week and she told me, that she'd help me pay for it, if I still wanted it! 'YES!' I squeeled!

So we went down to the store, and even tho' they were sold out of the color I wanted, they were still taking orders for it because they are expecting a big shipment to come in next week! So I paid for it, and got my receipt, and as soon as they come in, I'll have my new chair! I'm sooo excited!

Thanks MOTHER! This tops any gift that she was planning on getting me!

Vero, Congratulations on getting a call back on that job! See, nothing ventured, nothing gained! Good for you! I wish you all the best of luck with that interview!

Poddy, Scottie, Kinsey, FL, Maggie, Liz, Danie, Mezzi, T.Kender, and All the JOF's and JIT's

Biggest Hugs to All,
Wen

slipaway I'm very sorry your mother is sick. If you don't like Jason anymore - don't post here (as you've never posted here before this, I don't think!) Simple solution. Interests change - find one that makes you happy.

Wen your poor brother. There are few greater shocks than losing a job, especially one you've had a long time, especially for guys, whose work is a big part of their self-image. sigh. He'll probably be in a dither and have to mourn for awhile, but hopefully he'll figure something else out. So so rough.

And poor Lainie being late for her exam and stressing to the max and being snappish! Hope she did okay on her test. She's a sweetie - everybody has a bad day. Send her a HUG from us!

And congrats on the new chair! Nothing more exciting than comfy new furniture. My dad got one of those 'nana launcher' electronic chairs for my mom (she loved it) and I think he's having a good time with it now.

Dad is doing great, by the way, busy busy with condo village business negotiations. He was a boss of a factory for a lot of years and he likes doing boss stuff. Also a whiz with taxes (he did those when he retired) plus he went to M.I.T. and has an engineering degree so he's smart as a whip. (He's a mechanical engineer, his brother is an electrical engineer!). I'm glad to hear him sounding so good. His brother and sister in law are also down there in FL now too, for the winter.

Woo hoo, we took a SNOW DAY TODAY!

Well, the hospital never closes, and Mr ML's company was open (and he went) but Mr ML Jr and MLette and I are taking a snow day today. It snowed for 10 hours yesterday, really fast and hard and thick, and we got about 10 inches to a foot of snow I think. Official count for Boston was 8.5 inches but I'm sure we have more than that. Gosh what a mess.

People were stuck on the highways for hours and hours - some cars ran out of gas, sitting in traffic so long! The guy's half hour commute took them about 2 hrs! I'm very lucky the subway runs near my work and my house (also was very smart I wore my high rubber boots to work yesterday, before the snow fell). Bad news is, another storm is headed this way for the weekend, so by the time we get this one dug out - more is coming on top of it! I haven't heard how much more/how bad yet. But at least people won't all be commutingon a weekend.

It will really ruin the weekend for shopping, though. sigh. Got all my holiday parcels mailed away - mailed 3 yesterday morning and slogged to the post office with the last big one with MLette this morning. Woo! Very glad that's done. Also bought a gallon of milk so we're all set to hunker down! Think I'll bake cookies and make a pie and then curl up with the last Tanya Huff 'Blood Ties' novel I have (I've read 4 already). :>

New 'Moonlight' tonight! I am so stoked (I hope it doesn't stink - after 2 weeks with no episodse, I'm starting to forget why I liked the show so much). It just started airing in Australia too, although the KBs don't think it'll last 3 episodes, because of the station it's on. Oh, and Blood Ties is playing in Israel VB! I don't know if it's on a channel you get. You should check it out - vampire boy is very cute, police guy is very handsome - it's a great show.

Hello Everyone!!!

I have been so busy I haven't been able to post in quite a while. I must say this has been a wonderful year, I discovered Jason!!! I never watched Roswell, and had never heard of Jason until I came across his picture, then I was hooked!! I am looking forward to more of his movies coming out, and I hope he is able to make more mainstream movies, just so I have more of an opportunity to see him. I am still trying to figure out what Slipaway was talking about, but how in the world could you not like Jason anymore?

Welcome back Lisa Dawn! Well it's like falling in love - and falling out of love. It happens sometimes. (And some people just like to go around and post things and stir up trouble on a slow day.)

Baked an apple pie and choc chip cookies today and mailed my friend's Christmas present so feel like I accomplished a lot (although I really didn't).

Have to admit all the heaps of white snow are kind of pretty, now that they've stopped falling and people have shoveled walkways between them. But what a nuisance winter is! Every year I remember all over again! I guess it's like childbirth - you forget in between or else you wouldn't go through it again!
