Hang on...this too will pass.Still loving the barbie Ken talk(me too..had fuzzy going bald Ken ) I remember making clothes out of tissues....so easy to poke those pointy arms and toes through Thanks everyone for the upbeat spina bifada stories about heroic ppl.....I told the mom Sunday about your guy Scottie the baby is a cutie....I really bonded with her while the moms toured and chatted..it was such a sweet time with those two precious women..they liked each other alot! Karlan is pretty impaired....she will never walk and has to be cathed but she was so bright and ingaging while I watched her and could sit up and is learning how to get around on her "go go" ...little wheel chair. I need the memory stimulator! ML btw we have fireflies here and over the marsh at the beach...I think they need a bit of space to thrive....everyone loves fireflies ![]() Wen and vB interesting and inspirational reading about each of your special "boys" no question you guys are deeper ppl for your experiances.and sorry Wen your MIL was a jerk happy for ML that she got such a great one that was like a mother to her again 10 kids ![]() "OMG no wonder Satan Jr was like that, when he was spawned by a kleptomaniac She-devil!! What a truly evil woman!" ML you are so right well I loved the Super Bowl...what a game...and I was rooting for Eli to beat bad bf Tom although I guess he might have been set up by her...but still I was rooting for Eli...under his bros shadow and taking heat his whole career...cute to see Payton in his skybox stressing for and rooting for baby bro me too Scottie I enjoyed the whole Lost thing...reviews with pop ups and all(helped the old memory that's for sure) I'm liking it alot!! House was good too....really liked the south pole one! I knew I liked Greg B (Liked alot of his shows)ML you need House to work on Mr ML jr ..... to you bothcute voting story Wen ![]() oh....I'm liking Terminator SCCs too Elizabeth and Walter went to the Holicost museum this wkend....stayed for 5 hours and still didn't get to the third floor......we had a somber talk on her ride home from work Monday .....seems our schools have a shocking lack of teaching about such a major part of human history a friend from OC is coming for the day tomorrow (she wants to go to Penn Dutch country) then Fri my GFs are taking me to the Barnes museum(eveidently a famous art museum with private tours) it's my Bday present from one of them....we finally got time we could all go....so I'll have to catch up again everyonewhere's Maggie? hey back Tiger ![]() hope this wasn't too haphazard ![]() gotta jet ![]() __________________ ![]() | |||

| Maggie's computer died! That's where she is. But she already got a new one and is trying to hook it up, upload stuff, get back in business. She has a busy job and can't do much playing from work. We should hear from her soon. ![]() 'House' was again good last night with the Hasidim, who were portrayed very respectfully I thought. Some beautiful writing. Tom wondered how 'House' knew Hebrew and about Jewish stuff (like recognizing 'Ayshet chayil' a woman of valor) but then we all agreed that House knows pretty much everything (except how to be a decent human being!) LOL when he realized 'cutthroat b*ch' was just a female version of himself and Wilson realized he was dating House, sort of. giggle. (I bet the slash fans loved that, and you know there have to be slash fans of House/Wilson out there.) That show is just so twisty. It's been lousy lately, but these last 2 were quite good. Ah, TV, I remember it well - rumblings that the writer's strike might be over sooner than later. Fingers crossed! Oy, tell me about not remembering stuff! I was trying to think of the medical word for what she had (blood pressure drops when you stand up - which isn't such an unusual thing) and it took me until this morning to think of the word - and I type it all the time/know this stuff for my job. If it takes me 2 days to remember things, it's very lucky I didn't go on Jeopardy! ![]() Eli Manning has such a tiny head! But it was cool that his brother came to root for him. It was nice for them to win. But you would not believe how somber a mood was over the whole city and state the day after the Patriots lost. The surprise and disappointment were just all around. Not that I cared about it one way or another (stupid sports), but people were so crushed. It was just so expected and didn't happen, I guess. It ain't over til it's over! Well we went and voted, a lot of good it did us. The people we voted against won anyway, which is usually the case with us and voting. Who the heck is this 'Gomer' Huckabee? He's a good speaker, but then again, he's a preacher and speaking is their business. Politics! I wish this was the end of it, but it's going to drag on and on without mercy until November now. I just hope somebody wipes the smirk off Romney's face.Mr ML said I should vote for Hilary, as I was mentioning Women's sufferage, and how hard it was for women to vote, and I said I had to vote for the person, not the uterus. Theoretically, I should be crazy about her. In reality - ugh! Speaking of good preachers, have you guys ever caught Joel Osteen on TV? That guy always has something good to say to everyone. Usually those TV preacher types get on my last nerve and I can't change the channel fast enough but this guy makes me want to listen and hear what he has to say. (And jump up and say Hallelujah! LOL! kidding!) Ok, have some horrendous powerpoint slides calling my name to make for the Boss now... __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| OK I'm baaaaaack! ![]() I also want to thank everyone for all of the support and warm words! Thank you guys so much! Sometimes it's just shocking... even though I live in this enviroment 27 years it just doesn't get easier. This one for some reason hit a nerv for me. So thank you guys again for all of the support! You guys really are the best! The chouches look great! But then they looked pretty great at the store too. Those old ones we had looked so bad and they were sinking and with my mom's leg there's no way we could have lived with those much longer. Anyway we finally have the new ones and they are just the way they should be for a woman like mom.... hard. But they pretty comfy... I guess...So.... were was I.... Wen, still going on with you. ![]() Well I think they've stoped Liz's POV because they wanted to make the aliens the main thing and if you have a human's POV on the background all the time then the aliens can't be the main thing.... I didn't like that one bit BTW! ![]() That M-I-L you had has to be Satan and it makes sense since Satan Jr. is her son! That was a horroble thing she did to you pawning your wedding rings! It's so horroble I don't really know how to respond to that! ![]() Congrats on your early birthday presset! Only you might want to insist on sitting on it! I mean it's your birthday present and your Christmas present! It really shouldn't matter who got there 1st, since if you weren't there those reclines wouldn't have either. I'm not saying hog them all to yourself but definitely insist on sitting on them! I know what you mean. I miss seeing Jason on a weekly-basis too. It would be so great if he landed a show. I don't say no more movies... that's what they have season finals and all.![]() OMG! They got another dog!!! Isn't it possible to sue them for all of the noise (the neighbors' not the dogs). I mean this is really over reacted! 5 dogs and they don't stop barking! This is some nerv! I mean if you can get your dogs under control don't have them around! I know it sounds cruel but so is constant barking! ![]() Scottie, totally intersting about that memory-surgery. And BTW I soooo need that! I know I'm young but there are a lot of thing that I don't rememebr from my childhood that I just wish I did. ![]() Hurley still doesn't get thiner? That's totally wired! I mean siriously, shouldn't the producers or the directors make the actor do that? It's totally unbelieveble if the guy is stuck on an island and doesn't get thin.... either that or they have to kill him.... ![]() ML, I totally love Greg Berlati right now! I only learned about him from that 'I want Jason Behr to play me if the ever make a movie about my life' post you wrote.... but I still love the man! ![]() Hope you're still enjoying "Sharp Teeth"! It's so wonderful finding a book you enjoy reading so much! I know what you mean about Football talks. We don't have football here but we do have soccer and baskerball (the only one which is remotelly tolerable - the talks any how). I just hate how they have to analyze every move like the fate of the world depends on it... really completely ridiculous. What ever happened to just look at the game and enjoy it? ![]() Happy to hear your dad is ok after that surgery. Even if it wasn't sirious it's still a reliev. ![]() That was a funny storry about Mr ML Jr. Well you have to admit that usually going on a boat is a lot more fun then going to vote. I mean with the characters out there (and over here) it's amazing the world is still going around. ![]() Thanks for letting us know about Mags! OH no that's just ennoying when that happens. But it's good to know she already has a new computer! That House ep with the Hasidim sounds like a wonderful one! I miss House already. Our season just ended and I already miss it. ![]() Well if would have vote to Hilary only because she a woman I think it would be offending... you're suppoused to vote for what she stand for and believes in, what she wants to fight for. Voting juts because she has a set of boobs is definitely the wrong reson to vote for her. Hiope you'll finish those slides fast. podmommy, so happy to hear you had a good time with you friends and Karlan. That is a special name! I just love those. She probebly is excited about her "go go". ![]() Well like I've said they fit pefectly for my mom and my dad since they're getting older and it's pretty hard for them to get up of a soft couch.... that's way we bough a really hard and stiff couch. I would have loved it if it would have been softer but it's ok. It's pretty comfortable so it's ok. Wooof! That was long! __________________ Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.----- Baz Luhrmann You don't have to be crazy to be my friend.... | Congrats on the new couches VB! New furniture is always very exciting! Well, at least to me! LOL! If they start out too soft, I think they will get very soft over time. But hard furniture is not so cozy either. I have such a stupid couch and chair - when they made them, they put some slippery fabric on the bottom of the cushions, so when you sit on them, they slide forward off the sofa We are always having to get up and shove them back in place. And the big chair the dog sleeps on was part of the same set and every day or so, we have to push the pillow back on the chair, because he has knocked it off - even the weight of a dog makes it slide forward! It makes me sad because this couch is so pretty (we picked out the fabric) and so cozy, but the slipping and sliding cushions are a big pain! I'd really like to replace it. I thought maybe I should put some velcro on the bottom sides maybe...Hugs about the Holocaust Museum Poddy that would be very disturbing to visit. I visited a Holocaust memorial in Israel and it had this fountain that dripped like tears.. I remember that being very moving. It is terrible stuff to think about, but it shouldn't be forgotten either. sigh.So they say it was accidental drug overdose with Heath, and he was taking 2 kinds of pain killer, 2 kinds of sleeping pills, and anti-anxiety pills all together! That would make anybody die. So unfortunate. I think he had pain in his heart and soul and that's what he needed the medicine for, but he didn't realize it was a danger to mix them together. Well, as far as I know they don't have shaving razors on the island in Lost and they don't grow beards either, just attractive amount of stubble! I think it would be very hard for somebody as heavy as Hurley to become thinner (just for the show or in real life either). Unless he was like on the 'Biggest Loser' TV show or something. I am sort of slowing down with 'Sharp Teeth', I think because I know a werewolf story isn't going to have a happy ending, and it's leading up to a big battle with the different groups of werewolves and nothing good will come of that! And the wer-girl living with the human guy - they are so happy, but he doesn't know her true nature yet - that isn't going to end happily. LOL, and the mastermind wer guy is living as a pet dog of a lady, as his hideout, and she doesn't know either! It's a strange but compelling story. ![]() I think that whole job of being a 'commentator' and talking about things you can see with your own eyes (like sport games) or listen to yourself (like a speech), is a pretty strange job. I guess the vote in New Mexico, where my friend lives, was so close, they still haven't decided who won the vote there yet! It is nice to overhear some younger people chatting and excited about the election and being enthusiastic. I am just too cynical - I think people go in to this because they are power hungry and egomaniacs, and it has nothing to do about service or helping people, it is all about being #1 and being in charge. Had a funny thought about Mrs Clinton - maybe she will be President and then have an affair with some cute young guy, just to teach Mr Clinton a lesson. Oh well, Clinton was a good president, he was just a bad person. I think Mr Bush is a moral person - he is just not such a good president! Which is better! I think the guy who balances the budget and doesn't start any wars! ![]() I saw some commercials about that new show 'New Amsterdam' - it's about an immortal guy in New York (not a vampire, not a highlander exactly). He gets turned immortal while the Dutch are in the New World in like 1600 or something. It looks interesting, but I don't expect it will be around very long to enjoy. It sounds like the writers strike might be making progress with ending. I hope so. I only care about them doing one show right now, but I want to find out how that story continues! Don't just leave us hanging and wondering! __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| ML I love your posts cause you mostly say what I think or even what I think without knowing that I thought it till I read your post yea Bush is moral especially for a polititian and I do believe 911 really effected he and Tony B (just imagining that burden is awesome) plus they knew/know lots we don't .....it is so easy now to say get out of Irag but what about the poor Iraq ppl that will be slaughtered(like in Vietnam) when we pull out....obviously it was probably(history will tell) a huge sad mistake to go there but we need to deal with it with honor now.....ppl just are such dimwits... just enjoying some undeserved self rightious hind sight and getting a rush getting all worked up about "the war"(sorry) but I too am a cynic ML which is sad for such a patriotic person...but it is hard...my good friend took her 13 yr old son to see Obama in Del. the other day and we were talking politics(we are opposits but sister friends so we cope...but it can get heated) and I was after, painfully aware of what a cynic I now am going to try and get a grip...but I just can't get into any of these ppl running...if I ever find a pol I like I might go crazy thanks ML I just reread(cause it surfaced) Corrie ten Boom's prison letters from her time in that hell(she was a Christian that hid /helped Jews during WW2 and she her sis and 82 yr old father brother and cousin were thrown into prison for that(father died after 10 days) sister eventually died.. she lived....I realized this time around(read it long ago) that she was close to my age when she was sent to the concentration camp...really hit me personally...just knowing my aches and pains here in total ease she was an inspiration....as were so many known and unknown heroes of that time.her pic.... and a link to her bio....amazing person...short and informative...please take the time to read this...you will be uplifted > .........Google Image Result for http://www.raoulwallenberg.net/photomid/2428.jpg ....wonderful and humbling to see heroes....wish one would run for president of our great country! well maybe one of these ppl will become great....the position can lift the man/woman up to the task.....lets pray for that! ps...thinking about my own lack of heroism...so I shouldn't cast stones...see I might be becoming less cynical as I type ![]() __________________ ![]() | |||

| It's Wen's birthday!? Why did she keep it a secret! ![]() Slices of virtual cake all around for our friend! ![]() Oh Podmon what a wonderful story about that brave Dutch woman. And to forgive that Nazi guy she met and shake his hand later - I couldn't do that, I wouldn't care if he had found religion or not. LOL, but then my religion doesn't say to 'turn the other cheek' - one cheek is enough, I say! And to start a ministry when she's older than us, after all she's been through. And EEK to have to stand up, silent, packed together, in that tiny hidey-hole in the wall to escape the Nazis. The Dutch are a very cool people all around, I think. And good people of faith can move mountains!LOL, I just read an article about the Israeli branch of Mensa and they were saying there were a lot of smart people in Israel and this Jewish Dutch guy in the article agreed - but he said the Dutch were smarter (because he was Dutch, of course!) ![]() Funny. I also found out Fiorello Laguardia's mother was a Jewish Italian, and his sister, Gemma married a Jewish guy, Gluck, and ended up in a concentration camp in the war as a political prisoner (because her brother was Mayor of NY). Hmm and doesn't Gluck mean 'luck' but she wasn't so lucky. sigh. I think she and her daughter and grandson survived, so maybe they did have luck. Such a horrible time! WOW, did we have RAIN last night - torrential downpour, thunder and lightning - it was impressive. Made me grateful we have a roof over our heads! It was such a big storm, the dog came up and slept in our room and he never does that usually. I have a friend who knows so much about politics and current events and the economy and all that stuff (that I hate) and she thinks I'm so stupidly uninformed about politics and the election. But I think I'm more typical - you vote for people because you like them or you don't and from the impressions you get about them and their character. It doesn't matter what platform they run on or what promises they make, they're not going to be able to make most of these ideas happen even if they get elected. Mrs Obama seems like an extremely nice and smart lady. LOL, not only would Clinton be the first woman president, Bill would be the first... um first-gentleman? Presidential husband. Or first ex president married to a new president. Weird all around! It's definitely going to be interesting, how this all turns out!I think it was good we went in and knocked Saddam out of office, he was an evil man, but it's too bad we've had to stay so long afterwards and so many soldiers are being maimed and killed. sigh. I admired Bush very much during 9/11 - it was his finest hour and he really rose to the crisis and rallied the people. He did a good job with that. But I still don't know why he was elected to a 2nd term! ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 02-07-2008 at 12:50 PM. | |||

| to Wen!!! Loved the virtual cake, ML, that was so nice of you!Wen - I hope you have a wonderful birthday and get to celebrate in a special way. Oh, and I'm sorry about the new puppy that The Neighbors From Hell have. I agree, it's so sad to have any pet if you're only going to neglect it. I watch Animal Planet a lot and some weird, twisted part of me loves those Animal Cops shows. I love to see how the animals fare after they're fixed up and adopted by good families, that is, the ones that make it that far. And congrats on getting your early present from Mother! I forgot to congratulate you on that. VB - congrats on your new couches! I have an amazingly comfy couch, I just love it. It also FITS me because I picked it out. You really have to sit in a couch and make sure it's not too "big" for you. You need to be able to sit back with your back against the cushion on the back (said "back" 3 times! ) and your feet on the floor. Not a lot of people know that but it seems like a big "duh" to me.Onto politics - It's so funny because after Super Tuesday, my region votes a week later. Since Super Tuesday was so undecided for the Democratic ticket, suddenly all of the Dems are showing us some interest! LOL! Hillary's here and Barak's here too. They're actually paying us attention and it's all in the news and everything. Suddenly we're known as "the Chesapeake Primary" (for VB - Chesapeake is the name of the Bay that defines part of the eastern coastline, in case you didn't know). Isn't that hilarious? No one ever stops here unless it's to visit the White House or something. No one ever comes to the 'burbs! OT - You know when you just have sort of a blonde moment? I had one yesterday. I can't believe I said this, but my Pilates teacher was showing me pictures of his weekend trip to Miami, Florida. In one pictures there were what looked to me to be mountains, so I said "are those mountains?" He looked at me increduously and said "Leslie, there aren't any mountains on Miami Beach." ![]() I just finished the best book. It's a new John Grisham book that my son gave me for Christmas called "The Innocent Man." It's actually non-fiction, about two men who were unfairly locked away in prison (one on death row) for a murder in Oklahoma back in the early '80's. Both men were innocent and were eventually cleared based on DNA evidence. It was a riveting book, one I'll remember for a long time. Sometimes innocent people are put in jail, and sometimes even put to death. Good book! Good to hear about Maggie, ML. Thanks for the update on her. ![]() __________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne | |||

| LOL, I had a similar Florida experience - I saw a sign 'to the ski area' in Florida and I said "How do you ski here - you don't get any snow and there are no mountains?" and my friend looked at me and said "Water-skiing!" OOhhh. ![]() MLette and I went to every furniture store in the area, and sat on every sofa before we found this 'perfect' one (with the cushions that shoot out from under our butts). You definitely need to sit on them and see if they fit and are comfy. My mother also had a stupid sectional sofa on wheels once, and the pieces would separate and roll away from each other, and dump you down the crack and onto the floor if you were't careful! What a silly sofa! ![]() I like the happy endings on Animal Cops too, and how kind the officers are and the length they will go to, to help critters. sometimes they help the people too, like elderly owners or whacky animal collectors whose 'collection' has gotten out of control and are living in filth. UGH. The bad part is seeing how horrible people are to their animals. Sometimes it's ignorance, sometimes it's cruelty, sometimes it's mental illness - but it's always bad. The other thing is how willing animals are to forgive and forget and start over (and still give you a wag and a lick)! I guess that's the ultimate in turning the other cheek. It's good that they are doing DNA tests and letting go the wrong guys in jail. The bad part is a lot of times they just send them home and say "Oh sorry, never mind" and don't give them any money to make up for the lost years or counselling/help to re-enter society, they just kick them to the curb to fend for themselves. That isn't right either. Our country has an amazing number of people locked up for this and that. They don't have jails and prisons enough to hold all of them. Sad and scary. ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| LOL, 'dolphin lover'! My friend sent me some amazing photos a guy took out on his boat - he found a deer swimming across the bay/wherever, out in the middle of nowhere in a big body of water, and pulled it into his boat, took it to shore (tied its legs so it wouldn't leap out/hurt itself/him), and then let it go in the woods again. Nice!I can't believe Romney quit the president race! Woohoo, I guess our votes against him had their effect after all. It was so obvious he was just being our governor as a 'stepping stone' in his grand ambition, and maybe he should learn you need to do a good job at your first job before you spend your time pursuing the next one - his last year in office as governor, he spent about 200+ of the 365 days out of state, laying the groundwork for his run for president! A fat lot of good it did him! I am still liking that new show 'Eli Stone' (not fannishly liking, Mr ML and I just enjoy watching it). I'm not sure how they can keep up such an odd concept but so far, it's a lot of fun. Victor Garber singing and dancing was very cool! LOL! I taped 'Lipstick Jungle' to see Paul Blackthorne without his shirt (something he said in answer to a fan question about Dresden should never happen - Never say never!) and watched all of his scenes with Brooke Shields (she's a terrible actress; he had to do the acting for the both of them) and a bit of the part with the handsome 25 year old blond boy (reminded me of Jaimie Oliver naked chef) hitting on the horsefaced older woman - but it looks like an egregiously bad show. Plus during the breaks they had these annoying breathless "You can get the makeup looks just like the women in this show!" and smarmy stuff like that. Why are these shows about women so insulting to women? At least to this woman! LOL! The Dresden guy is exactly like his Dresden character - needs a shave, hair sticking up all over, only talking with his English accent in this one. And caring for the kids and being house hubby for his big job powersuit wife and being frustrated with it and them fighting a lot. LOL, maybe I'll tape it and watch his parts of it on Thursday nights (while we actually watch the other show). Maybe that would be too much trouble. Last (rerun) Moonlight tonight! The zit-vamp - not my favorite but wonderful stuff happens, aside from the plot. Mick and Beth stuff, always good! Going to miss this one until it comes back. ![]() Snow today! Woke up to just a thin coating but it's falling again, so there will be some more. Oh well, the torrential rains washed away the stuff we had from before. Friday! Woo! Sweet Sabbath to VB and great weekends (coming speedily, I hope) to us all. I'm going to go see TWO amateur plays this weekend, one at my college and one at my kids' high school - I'm so psyched! Now, if I can just keep my lips clamped together and not sing along! MLette is going on vacation with the BF up to Vermont - the last place to take a chilly gal with Raynaud's in her hands and feet who hates the outdoors - but that's where they're off to! There is the Ben & Jerry factory up there, Cabot cheese, Champlain chocolates - I could eat my way through Vermont! ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" | |||

| JOFs!ML - that's exactly what happened to the guys from The Innocent Man book, they were found innocent (they really were innocent!) of the crime and almost literally dumped on the curb of the courthouse to fend for themselves. Plus, once they were found innocent by DNA proof, the prosecutors kept investigating them for the murder a second time! That scared the bejeesus out of the two guys, one was mentally unstable and it scared him so badly to think that he'd get sent back to the prison (which was an inhumane monster of modern prisons with no windows, and 36 inches between beds in a two man cell). I'm not advocating letting justly convicted murderers go by any means, but it really showed that innocent people are convicted sometimes and it needs to be rectified. The two men never ever got an apology or anything from the state of Oklahoma. They did have the last laugh though, since the prosecutors kept threatening them, they decided to sue the state and they WON! LOL! They ended up getting money, but it never made up for all the years they lost. Anyway, it's a really good book and John Grisham did a wonderful job of telling the story so it was riveting and interesting. I'm always amazed too, at the way the animals on Animal Cops are always so willing to forgive. What a good show, and I agree that it's always difficult to watch what they go through at the hands of their owners. Makes our pampered family member doggies look like the lucky ones, eh? I haven't watched Eli Stone, I wish I had from the beginning. Is it too late to pick it up? I saw about two seconds of Brooke Shields boohooing over something on Lipstick Jungle as I flashed through stations last night and I thought to myself what a terrible actress she is! ML and Podmom - glad you've both had blonde moments too! ML - your's was funny. I'll share another funny one that happened to my niece. When she was in middle school, her mom (my sister) was driving her to school one day in their mini-van that had one of those overhead consoles with lights and temperature and compass readings on it. My niece happened to look at the compass reading and said "that compass thing is SO broken. It says we're going south when we're going uphill." I swear she said that! My sister cracked up. My niece is so funny, she's legendary in our family for her blondisms! Podmom - that dolphin gif is hysterical! Too funny! __________________ "Life is hard; it's even harder if you're stupid"--John Wayne | |||

| LOL, I asked my family who Bush's vice president was last night and boy did I get a lot of looks! I'd heard of Cheney but I didn't realize he was the Veep, thought he was some cabinet muckety muck or other. I knew he was the guy who shot his friend when they went hunting! With friends like those... ![]() My sister-in-law also doesn't understand the whole compass thing at all - she's dyslexic but it's more about time and space and direction - a lot of things. She wanted to fung shui her bedroom but didn't understand how to use a compass/how to figure out which way was N S E or W. Oh, you aren't too late for Eli Stone, last night was only the 2nd episode, it just started airing. They refer to stuff in the previous show but they stand on their own as far as the legal case of the week, etc. He gets these weird visions that prompt him to take up various underdog legal cases, they are sort of clues. It's weird but kind of funny. He's engaged to the boss's daughter (also a lawyer) and he has this really sassy secretary. LOL, I heard 2 ladies at the next lunch table talking about Lipstick Jungle - which is funny as I was just talking to MLette (who works here on Fridays 1/2 day) about the show and how awful it was (but how I like Paul Blackthorne and he had a very nice chest, don't know why he was getting all British and embarrassed about it..and he's appropriately 40ish to Brooke Shields' 40ishness)... so I guess somebody is actually watching it and maybe liking it. To each her own!! Andrew McCarthy is supposed to be some rich Mr Big character but a review I read thought he was too wishy-washy and was more like "Mr Medium" at best. LOL! Well the woman who wrote Sex and the City Candace Bushnell and the guy who made the TV show, Darren Starr, both decided to make similar and competing type new NY women shows at exactly the same time (Lipstick Jungle and Cashmere Mafia) - very bizarre (as I'm not sure we need one of these shows, but definitely don't need two at the same time). I know Sex and the City was an enormous success but I can't say I ever have watched a minute of it. Anyway, I think it was on cable and we didn't get it. But I guess they've cut out all the dirty parts and are airing it on a regular channel now (so now it's just "And the City" without the sex? LOL!) They did the same with the Sopranos, cutting out the swears and a bit of the violence - Sopranos lite. If they cut the swears out of Deadwood, it would be a silent movie! ;p Oh rats - I was all psyched because the Paley Center festival thing in LA was going to do a 'Moonlight' panel in April and I was thinking a trip would be nice - but then I looked at the calendar and Passover is going to be starting - can't go, must be home making things to eat out of matzah! I heard they're also holding a Buffy cast reunion panel - that would be sooo awesome! LOL! ![]() __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" Last edited by MyrnaLynne : 02-08-2008 at 02:38 PM. | |||
