Well, it looks like Mr ML is going to keep a job at the same place - they are laying off the warehouse people/closing the warehouse, but they said they would take one person to do whatever work in the office side of things - so they are taking Mr ML. At first he didn't want a job with a business that might be going under (and that was firing him!) but when he saw the other job paid half as much and wasn't so good - he decided to stick where he is now, so he can keep his good pay, etc.

I'm not sure it's the best decision in the long run, but for now at least he can keep his job and that's good news!!! Big relief. Of course, if the rest of the company closes up, he'll be back looking for another job, and that much older. Oh well, who can predict the future?

So now we'll have to concentrate on getting Mr ML Jr a new job instead. Poor guy. I had no idea braces on the teeth were so uncomfortable or made eating so difficult etc. I hope he doesn't get any skinnier from not eating! But I also hope he sticks with the braces and gets nice Hollywood teeth. Hey, if a nutjob like Tom Cruise can endure braces...

LOL, I think it's a whole lot simpler to be Catholic (or christian) than it is to be an observant Jew (no offense!), there are so many rules and all the things with observing the Sabbath and holidays. It's complicated! I understand you wanting somebody who is on the same 'wavelength' as you are, as far as religious observance and beliefs, VB and not have to explain yourself or try to teach them how to do things - although I think in most relationships, one person feels more strongly about things and the other one goes along, or they come to a compromise.

And congrats on losing 13g! That is more than a size!

Finding a good bathing suit is quite an accomplishment! And trying them on is so terrible!

I'm wearing my new clothes this week, even though it is still a little too cold for them, because I'm so happy to be wearing something new and pretty! I didn't even wait to wash some of them first (so I hope they don't give me any itchy rashes). I always wash stuff before I wear it, to get the chemicals out. Oh well - couldn't wait!

One night left for Dancing! Tonight they decide who wins and gets the truly ugly and silly mirror-ball trophy! All 3 of the finalists are very nice. It's obvious Kristi is the best dancer and athlete - but it will be interesting to see if she wins, because I don't think she won over the hearts of the viewers so much. Cute guy from Chile I really liked. He's going right from the show to surgery to fix his arm this week! Hoping that goes okay! (worry worry) The are all nice people (they got rid of the nasty strange people early on, plus the ones with two left legs who couldn't dance).

The 'House' finale was quite spectacular. That's such an intelligent and quirky show. The challenge is to work around the formulaic nature of the story - person is mysteriously sick, they try to figure it out, the person gets worse (or they make him/her worse), they do tests - they save the person at the last minute (or the person dies)! The challenge is to make that interesting and not so repetitive. But I find medicine very interesting and I love a good medical mystery. :> But that's not why most people watch the show - it's to see House be incredibly nasty and brilliant and soo politically incorrect and say shocking things and behave badly. :p

Hi Everyone!

We're getting a break in the weather... only going to be 90* today! Hey, it's better than in the 100's!

Vero, Wow, you really did loose a lot of weight! Way to go girl!

And I can understand your reservations about not wanting to date someone that's not in the same place as you religious wise... but like MyrnaLynne said, peeps can change like Mr. ML did. But one never knows.

But whatever you decide, we will support you 100%!

And that's Great that you found a swinsuit that both you and Mom liked! I'm so glad you had such a nice day shopping!

MyrnaLynne, And I'm so glad that you and MLette had such a nice day shopping too!

Yes, it is always fun and nice to get new clothes, but you really should wash them 1st...Once Dad got a really terrible case of Ring Worm after wearing clothing without washing them 1st.

And that's Great that Mr. ML gets to keep his job! What a relief!

Keeping finger's crossed for poor 'aching' Mr. ML Jr. to start getting some calls on his resume.

Sending his way for some much needed pain relief!

And Yes, HOUSE was excellent last night! But now it's still kind of a cliff-hanger... Will Wilson ever forgive HOUSE? Will HOUSE be able to speak now that he's awake? Now that 13 is POS., will she tell HOUSE? Questions and more questions I keep thinking about.

Scottie, I'm so glad you had such a nice time with your sister. I bet she was so happy that you got to spend her birthday with her.

Did any of your other Bro's or Sis's go too, or just you? But I'm sure if you were the only one that went, it was nice to have that one on one time with her.

Poddy, Emily is just so pretty! Thanks so much for posting her pic!

And I'm glad to hear the Graduation went well. (Lainie Graduates this Friday, the 23rd.)

And Wow! Emily's Top 4% of her class! Now That's impressive! Go ahead and Brag! We're all proud of her too!

Now, what was her Major again? Sorry, I forgot.

And you are headed back up to Big Viv's? Seems you just left her. Is you sis still staying with Mom?

I hope Everyone is having a Great Day/Night!

Hugs the All,
Wen

Wen - I went to my sister's house with a mutual friend of our's from the neighborhood. My sister lived up the street from me until a couple of years ago when her husband got a new job in NC. He retired from the military very early so he's "double dipping" and working for UNC in Chapel Hill. My sister hasn't worked outside the home since her kids were born (22 years!) but she's very busy playing mah-jong (I hope I spelled that right) and going to her book club meetings!!! But she's a real sweetheart and we wanted to spend some time with her so we flew down there.

House was excellent last night. I have to admit that I cried when Amber died! It was so sad! My husband and I both agreed that it was cruel to wake her up just to tell her she was dying. We agreed that if anything like that ever happened to us we wouldn't want to be woken up. Poor Wilson. I think he'll talk to House, he seemed genuinely concerned that he would be okay. Wow, 13 is positive. That would be a horrible way to go too! the show was excellent, very good finale. Now I'm going to miss it! But heck, they show repeats all the time.

I'm getting geared up for So You Think You Can Dance, that's my show and I can't wait for it to come back on!

ML - glad Mr. ML's keeping his job for now. A similar thing happened to a friend of mine, she worked at Hechinger's (home improvement company) way after it went belly up, like two or three years. They had to liquidate all of their remaining assets, divide them up between their creditors and she was in charge of that. She worked so hard, long hours, but she got paid really, really well. I hope it goes well for him.

I watched the last Moonlight ep on my computer during lunchtime yesterday, that was so cool! You're right, it was a satisfying ending, but I want much more. The snarky TV columnist in my Washington Post this morning wrote an article about failed tv shows and called fans of Moonlight "scary Sci-Fi fans". It boils my blood to be called a "scary" fan. Why is it that if you like sci-fi you're marked as scary? (Probably has something to do with Star Trek conventions! )

VB - congratulations on your weight loss, I knew you were going to the gym, but I didn't know you were working so hard to lose weight. I thought it was just a routine thing for you. Keep it up! Glad you could find a swimsuit that you love, that's such a tough purchase!

Podmom - Emily's very lovely! And so bright! I know she must be a treasure for you, I wish her good things.

The baby robins are getting HUGE! When I go to the car they sometimes peek over the edge of the nest (there are three of them) and look at me. I talk to them now too like I did to Momma Robin. I don't see her on the nest much anymore, I don't think there's any room for her! Yesterday when I got gas in my car I noticed some robin "presents" on the side of my car... They're not being very good guests, eh?

I hope Jason gets a job soon, I really really really miss him!

Hey everyone!

Podmom Emily looks so beautiful on her Grad day!

ML Wonderful news about MR ML. It gives him the chance to get his feelers out for other employment possibilities while still being employed.
Sorry to hear about JR's sore teeth and arm...
Glad to hear your Moonlight finale didn't leave you as disappointed as you thought you'd be.

Vero Congrats on the huge weight loss! And yes it does feel wonderful to have a man show interest in you. Though I don't follow an organized religion (although I am spiritual and if I were to choose one it would have to be Buddhism, I am vey much inspired by the Dalai Lama) I understand how you feel about wanting to be with someone on the same wave length as you when it comes to something so important in your life. A person could apply their need for a commonality to any aspect of life if you feel strongly enough about it.

Trying to remember what else I read.........

Yes a sign of getting old.....

Which reminds me.....

A few months back hubby and I were chatting and I mentioned something about being 36 years old. He corrected me and told me I'm only 35. I was convinced I was 36. We did the simple math and yes he was right ...I am only 35. How the hell I managed to add a year I don't know!!!!

You know your getting old when.....

Here's hoping when we finally do have kids I don't forget how many we have?????

Ok I'm going to go open a new online photo album and get some photos's finally posted.

Later....

LOL, Scottie my husband said the same thing! If he's ever in the situation Amber was in - don't wake him up to tell him he's dying and say good-bye, just pull the plug! That was a really powerful show (MLette is watching it on tape right now).

"Scary scifi fans" of 'Moonlight'! They have a lot of nerve. Just very organized and energetic and devoted. People just fell in LOVE with this show and when you love something, well, you fight for it! Don't give it up so easily or lightly. Well, okay, maybe we are a wee bit scary.

Anyway, the show didn't 'fail' the network failed the show by abandoning it when it was doing very well and wildly popular. TV Guide for next week had pictures of Alex O'Loughlin/Moonlight in there again - THEY know what the viewers like, even if CBS doesn't care.

Mama Robin is probably out fetching bugs and worms and tasty treats to feed those 3 growing babies. Baby birds! How cute! Bird poo on the car - not so cute.

Poddy what a beautiful graduate and top 4%! That's definitely brag-worthy! You did such a good job with your girls!

Nope, Mr ML won't do anything about finding another job until they kick him to the curb (again). That's just the way he is (grasshopper fiddling away, not worrying about the future)! We've known business was terrible and only a matter of time it would go belly up for awhile now, but he just refused to even think about it! La la la, I can't hear you!!

BehrAnt I did the same thing the other day - was reading about somebody in show biz who was 53 and thought "Oh, we're the same age!"... Not! Forgot a couple of years for a second there.

Kids! An exciting prospect. You probably won't forget how many you have, but you'll forget their names if you have a lot of them (kidding!) Mr ML also has no clue of their ages or birthdays, but that's just him. At least he remembers his own birthday! LOL!

Good to hear that the braces pain gets better - I will pass the word along to Mr ML Jr, who is counting the months he'll have to endure this already! LOL! Okay, maybe he isn't quite as stoic as his father. One of the things I like about Mr ML most (well, there are a lot of things) is that he's never a whiner. (And one of the reasons I can't stand Jerry Seinfeld - everything out of his mouth sounds like whining!)

Speaking of Buddhism, today is Buddah's birthday!

I only know this because the hospital was having a Buddah's birthday celebration (but I wasn't staying after work until 6 to attend). I agree Buddhism is very nice, although I don't know about giving up all attachments and everything being meaninless and death of desire and all that. I'm very attached to things, they mean a lot, and I want it all (and I want it NOW!) But I admire their respect for all living things.

Gotta to put on my dancing shoes - well, go watch the final Dancing. OMG, in TV Guide they put a photo of Cristian de la Fuente and Christopher Llyod (when he was younger) side by side and showed how much alike they looked! Scary! As one guy is very nice looking and the other guy - soo not! Too funny.

Irn is laying on Bru. They are 4 months old here, but are 9 months old now. They are losing their kitten looks now.

Sorry about the size..they are huge! I'll figure out how to make them smaller later.

Ok, hope that the size is fixed....

BA Aww - kitties! So cute! Such sharp little teeth!

Very disappointed with Dancing - It just seems like the fix was in from the start and they decided Kristy and Jason would be finalists, even before he was dancing that well. I was hoping Cristian would win, or at last be #2, but I guess being in the final 3 was pretty good. I liked that hip hop singer Mario too - I thought he was much better than Jason as a dancer but he got eliminated. So it goes! The last two shows, the person I was rooting for won, and that was a whole lot more enjoyable! There was never any suspense from the get-go that Kristy would win, which made it a whole lot less fun. I mean, there was her being perfect, and then everybody else down on the next level (or way below).

Poddy meant to say I loved that Princess Lea and Darth vader with the hair dryer and the spinning 'bagel' hairdo.

Funny, our eccentric concert pianist neighbor, friend of Mr ML, had a Barack Obama button - with his name spelled out in Hebrew! Said it was 'Baruch Obama'

Too bad about Mr Kennedy's illness. You should have seen all the news vans and cameras staking out the hospital like vultures waiting for road kill. It's so bizarre. They've been hanging around for days.

Hey all!

Not going to the gym today.... My mom needs me for a few things and this afternoon I've got another job interview... it's going to be interesting.... I think. I'll tell you guys why later.

Thanks for the congrats all. I'm pretty thin now which I love... but now I have to find a way to stay like that (not to put on wight and not to lose anymore) because I think I'm at a pretty ideal wight for me.

And yea I'm pretty proud of myself for finding a bathing suit. I'm always going with a one-piece but it never really looks great..... let's admit it! I'm young and I want to look a little sexy (within the requierments of being religious and all) so I was going to find something great! And I did! And it seems like we're going to a pool or something on Friday so I'll get to wear it then. Happy Me!

ML, that's great that Mr ML get's to keep his old job and make the same amount of money. But I have to agree that it's really too bad that he won't be looking for a new job while still there. I mean if they'll go down eventuallt he should def keep his eyes open on other things.... but then it's probebly easier to ignor that.

One of my friends had braces for a really long time (and a lot of kinds too). The pain really don't last that long... the only thing she kept complaining about was the fact she couldn't have a piece of gum and that she had to clean her teeth all the time and from every crumb there.

Happy to hear you're having so much fun with those clothes!

Well that's not how we spell Barak Obama.... we actually spell it like you guys... but with out the A's because we don't use vowels.... and in Hebrew letters.... OK so that's weird...

podmommy, happy to hear that graduation day wenmt along fine! And that is great that Emily is at the top 4%! You definitely deserve some bragging! In fact I think you have to brag!

Scottie, well I exercised b4 I started with the gym and that class was over so I was looking for something else... and while I did I kinda 'grew'. Not that I was the thin type to begin with. So when I started with the gym I wanted to get to a reasonable wight and then just keep going. So for a while to was for wight-loss and routine... now it's a routine and a way to give myself some muscles.... a little anyhow.

Well that's rude! Calling fans "scary scifi fans". When will all of those people (at the networks and newspapers ect.) learn? Different people like different things! And of cours that when a loved show run into some setbacks the fans will try to keep it alive. I get that so why can't they?

BA, well that's kinda cool! You have one more year! But I'm not sure it's the age thing.... when someone asks me how old am I, I usually stutter and think about whether I have the right no. or not. I dodn't remember when it started but at some point it just did.

Well I doubt if you'll forget the amount of kids you'll have... but the names might get all mixed up. My parents sometimes call all of the 3 names (we're 3 kids) b4 they get to the one they actually want to call. And it happens to my aunts and uncles too.

The kitties (going on cats) are really sweet. And you guys look so sweet at that anniversary pic!

Well that's that for me.

‘Morning JOFs!

ML – I heard that Kristi Yamaguchi won DWTS last night! Sorry your cute boy, Cristian, didn’t win, but he did do well after his injury, didn’t he? I read that his surgery is this Friday, I wish him well. Is Christopher Lloyd the guy from Taxi? The guy from Back to the Future?

Yeah, maybe Momma Robin’s out hunting food for her obese little chicks in the nest. I honestly never see her anymore on the nest. The babies are doing well, at least they were there this morning when I got in the car. I’m always afraid that one day they won’t be there anymore, maybe a cat or something will “get” them. My sister had a nest of baby cardinals in a bush right outside her bedroom window and one day all the babies were just gone and they weren’t old enough to have fledged and flown away, so she thinks something got to them.

I forgot to comment on Mr. ML Jr’s braces. Have they gotten any better for him? I’ve heard that when they tighten them they hurt for a little while, but hopefully he’ll get used to them quickly. How wonderful that he’s going to have Hollywood teeth! VB commented about the importance of keeping the teeth clean while you have braces and that’s what I’ve heard too. It’s very important!

Funny that Mr. ML commented about not being waken just to be told of a terminal illness either. Sounds stupid to do so to me! And cruel to boot.

to Mr. Kennedy!

Podmom – love the spinning bagel ‘do on Princess Leia too! That’s a classic!

BA – thanks for posting the pics, the kittens are gorgeous! I've forgetten how old I am too, and I did it when I was much younger, like you, too. And I think it’s a function of parents everywhere to forget their kid’s names, especially when they’re yelling at them. Half the time I call my husband by my son’s name or vice versa. But when I call him “Hazel” (after the dog) I know it’ll be bad!

You and McHubby (I think that’s what we’re calling him, right?) look wonderful together, very happy! You have a beautiful smile too.

Happy Belated birthday to Buddha! May you live long !

VB – good luck soon the new, mysterious job interview!

I agree that different people like different tv shows, and while reality shows and game shows (except for Jeopardy!) aren’t really my thing, I love sci-fi (but the not so scary stuff), but I don’t in any way consider myself “scary”. That snarky reporter is usually very funny and one of my favorite Washington Post writers (her American Idol reviews are usually hilarious), but she touched a nerve when she dissed Moonlight and it’s fans, who probably like the show for the good looking vampire guy, Mick, and his chemistry with the beautiful Beth. Sigh…

to Wen! Hope you’re doing well today and staying cool. When’s the air conditioner scheduled for repair again? Hopefully it’s fixed by now, or the weather’s cooled so you’re not sweltering and swelling…

These 'scary fans' are the TV shows CUSTOMERS! What happened to 'the customer is always right?' They have no respect for the people who watch and enjoy the shows they make - making them and then hoping that people will watch them and enjoy them loyally. (And then snatch them away!) I just don't get it! CBS made a serious mistake and lost a lot of 'customers'.We're mad as h*** and we're not gonna take it anymore!

Only consolation is that the season ended very beautiful. Last scene with Mick and Beth was just perfect!

Yes, that cute guy from Chile and Christopher Lloyd, the Taxi and Back to the Future mad scientist! Their eyes were a little similar/beady and their hairlines but - One guy is good looking, one guy - not! Yet there was a resemblance between the two photos.

Oh well, win or lose on Dancing WT Stars, the boost for their careers is immeasurable and the number of new fans, who didn't know these people existed before. But unless they get somebody really interesting, I'm going to take a break from it. I didn't want to watch it this time, I didn't like the people, but then I got dragged into it. And it was fun - the music makes me and MLette want to dance!

Mr ML Jr is finding it very annoying that everything sticks in his braces/teeth, so I think he's being pretty good about cleaning them out. Although one day he was swishing Coca-Cola around his mouth and Mr ML and I both yelled at him! LOL! NOT what the dentist would recommend, to clean your teeth with sugar-water!!

He has a job interview today - wishing him luck! He was so nice and drove his sister to work this morning, and me to a doctor appointment and then back. Such a good kid!

Oh VB they spelled Obama's name right in Hebrew, that was just a little joke the guy was making, pronouncing it wrong, like it was a Hebrew name. It is a pretty odd name - not the name of a person you'd expect to be US President! Then again, Grover Cleveland and Millard Filmore are pretty weird names too. LOL!

I hope you will be able to stay at the weight you have reached, now that you are down to a good point. Sexy but modest bathing suits - hard to find!

Gosh I haven't been swimming in sooo long. Mr ML suggested we go to a hotel for our anniversary and take a swim, but that seemed way too extravagant a plan - for a guy who recently just about lost his job! I think 'Indiana Jones' and maybe a meal out would be enough of a celebration. Maybe next year we can plan something fancier.

Scottie the robin family sounds like they have a safe nest - I hope the little ones grow up to fly away and be big robins. The blue jay family is constantly chasing squirrels away from their nest. My daughter saw a mockingbird also chasing a squirrel away. It's a tough life, out there in nature! And those pesky squirrels, it's not like they don't have a million other things to eat - that's all I ever see them doing is eating!

Ooo, CBS isn't done with getting the last word - originally they were going to rerun 'Moonlight' for a few more weeks (good episode was coming on Friday). Now they are going to show 2 hrs of Ghostwhisperer instead and not show it anymore! Mean, that's just spiteful and nasty.

Quote from interview with Sophia Myles (Moonlight) from that site that shall remain nameless, about TV in the US (and just what I was saying):
"it’s a lot more about the money here than it is about the creativity. That was a big adjustment for me to make. It’s 99% about the cash and 1% about the creativity. We’re working for corporations, and they’re more concerned about who is advertising during the commercial breaks. But, I’m not interested in any of that. I’m interested in how many hearts and souls we’re moving in people that are seeing the show. The fan base eliminates all the rest of that crap.

Alas, the cr*p won out over the fans. I like Sophia a tremendous amount.

Thanks for all your compliments on the pictures everyone!

ML Yeah the kitties have very sharp teeth. On their second flea bath shortly after I got them (and their last one..thank goodness!)I got a few deep punctures in my hand. OUCH! Did I ever scream bloody murder when that happened.

Hope Mr ML Jr gets the job!

Podmom Yeah, I love the Darth Vader / Lea ani. Hope your having a nice time at your moms.

Vero Good luck on your interview.

Scottie I love picturing the chicks in my mind. Please keep us updated.
When hubby (yes you can call him McHubby) and I were living in Scotland we lived in the counry and there was a river (Irvine River) behind us. We used to go for walks all the time and one time we discovered a couple of swans nesting. It was so amazing to see. I wish I had my digital camera back then . I would have taken a load of photos. We would go buy every week and then one day there were 5 babies. Then they started taking to the water...one day we seen them about a 5 minuite walk upriver but there was only the parents and 4 babies. Eventually there were only three babies. Just before hubbys immigration came through we went to see their progress and the parents were gone and the babies were gone. Unfortunately the nest looked like it had an unusual amount of fleather laying around and in it. I'd like to think positive and that they just relocated to a safer area but I think a minke might have gotten to it (as we had seen a minke a little down river once).

LOL on the possibility of calling your husband the dogs name!

I completely expect to forget the kids names or at least mix them up, but knowing me and my mind recently I will forget how many we have.

Well I have bread rising so I better go and deal with that...and laundry, ironing, cleaning....clean the fish tank...

Later..........

Thanks everyone for the good luck. I think that interview went ok... I've had better and they were kinda nice... we'll see if it'll work out....

Tonight is my dad's birthday and we're BBQing... again. My uncles and their families will come too so it'll be really nice.

I haven't read... yet... I'm way to tired... and to think it's like 3 PM! I have no idea what's going on but for some reason I am.

ML, I'm so sorry for the way CBS is treating the Moonlight fans! It's totally uncalled for and if they already have the eps I really don't get why don't they air them.

Hope everyone are having a great day!
