ML I'm totally with you...I hope CBS sees the light and reverses their decision. Moonlight *so* deserves another chance.

Of course the cynical side of me thinks maybe CBS just set up this phone line so the angry Moonlight fans wouldn't tie up the rest of their phone system with their calls! I got the secretary at work, my niece in California, my friend in Florida, my friend in NM, and my daughter to call in! Of course CBS totally doesn't care about our (geriatric) demographic, although I don't know why, as baby boomers are numerous and buy things, etc. (and stay home on Friday nights and watch TV!) LOL!

I'm glad they aren't giving this up without a fight. What's frustrating is that the fans have been fighting for this show, even before it was in danger of cancellation! Starting to have 'campaign fatigue' already. Also been working for resurrecting Blood Ties from the (un)dead.

I didn't realize Jericoh was a CBS show - they've just been through the crazy fan campaign thing and how did that work out? They brought the show back and then cancelled it again. I'd be happier if another network took it over. (I'd be happier if it wasn't cancelled and done forever!)

I can't believe how fast you guys have been posting this past week! I just spent 2 hours catching up!
Well...

Hope everyone had a great Mothers Day...sound like it from al the stories.
Thanx everyone on the Anniversary wishes. We had a great time. Our truck is off the road right now (needs repairs and insured) so we rented a cheap car for a couple of days so we could do more. We went to the beach for a while and had a picnic. We do this every year because when we got married we were unemployed and broke, so instead of a honeymoon or a reception (since it was just the two of us) we had a picnic at the beach. Then it got cool and cloudy all of a sudden so we went out of town to buy some of our favorite British imports like Irn Bru (the pop we named the cats after) and Lee's Maccarron bars (YUM), there is nothing like it made in North America. We went to Ikea unexpectedly on our way home and ended up having a little shopping spree ( I warned McHubby it would happen but he wanted to stop there anyways.. ) Then later that night went out for dinner.
The next day we went to Bowen Island (where I lived when I met him). I wanted to go see my cats (where they are burried in the forest there). I planted a Bleeding Heart. We hung out on the Island for a while..went to a private little lookout over looking the ocean. Later that night (back on the mainland) we went out to a pub to play some darts. We don't go to pubs often here (we prefer British pubs...way better atmosphere) but it was funny because the bartender remembered us and what we drank.... I guess he doesn't often get 2 non drinkers ordering coke in a bar .

ML It's so true about getting to know the real inner person online. It was especially great for us meeting because we wern't looking for a relationship. We met on a chat room by accident Neither one of us had been on one before when we met. My friends only recently realised that we didn't meet on a dating service till recently!

Hey ya never know, Mr ML jr may meet someone online if he spends so much time on the computer already! I wouldn't think you have quashed his budding creative spirit. It is just reality that people need to pay their way till they succeed creatively. Only the already wealthy can afford to mot work while creating.

Thanks for the healing vibes.
Happy Anniversary on your upcomming 29th!
I love those cake competitions on the food network!
There is no need to be embarrased about you eagerly awaiting the new Indie movie! I am really excited myself! It's one of my all time favorite movie series.

LOL ..A stroller for adults is a wheelchair....And the wirling blades of food processors..

Tiny dancers creep me out as well...Pagent kids too....
The singing contest should be fun!
10 000 posts!!!!! definately deserves a party!
Hope Mr ML's interview worked out.

Wen I just realised I have to open a new online photo album to post my picture of the cats....hmmm.
Your probably right about your Bro and SIL being jealous of your relationship with your nieces and nephew.
I agree about Scott B and the Trek thing not meshing...it was too bad.
I hope they figure out your leg swelling soon and ease your suffering. Hang in there. It took Dr's 2 1/2 years to find out I had 2 broken vertebrae in my spine. I cried with relief just to know the pain wasn't all in my head...not to mention the realization of the situation all over again. I also cried with relief when I was diagnosed with severe Post Traumatic Stress form the accident as well. Again the relief of knowing I wasn't going crazy! Hang in there...

Podmom on your twisted ankle. Although the colours changing as it heals should be entertaining! Hope Liz got some nice stuff on her trip to Ikea! Sound like you had a nice time (concidering your ankle) on the weekend. Reading and movies...I like the sound of that.

I loved your Kitten avi...I saved it to my computer I loved it so much. I remember when Irn and Bru would fall asleep suddenly like that all the time.. and belly up as well. It's so typically kitten!

Sounds like a very nice mothers day gift from Liz.
There was something else but I can't read my own writing....go figure

Vero Your right , it's nice to come back to a place like this and see all the farmiliar names and chatter (conversation)
I understand the complicated part of baking for you guys. If it was any more complicated I probably wouldn't do it myself!
And oh yes...It is lots of fun trying to make babies!
Sorry to hear about the job not working out. You should consider the interviews good practice till the right one comes along.

ScottieSounds like a wonderful gift for Mothers Day.
Ditto an the bread machine, just another appliance taking up space.
The Pit Bull in the engine is so freaky!
the three headed frod is so sad. It certainly makes me wonder what is in our water?

BBW Your cat has very cool eyes!

I remember seeing the Black Stallion in the movie theatre when I was a kid. In one of the old fashioned theatres with a balcony!

Honour killings are deplorable.....it's a concept so foreign and unthinkable I just can't get my head around that one. I knew a girl in highschool who's family was Iranian and her father tried to have her raped so he could have her killed because she wouldn't do as he wished. She ended up getting help from the government and going into hiding with a new identity and everything. I found out a couple of years ago from a mutual friend from highschool that she is doing well and what she is up to. Turns out the next youngest sister, whom I was also friends with was sent back to Iran to be married off. So sad. Even more so for a girl who grew up in a western or a more open and acccepting society towards women.

Well I'm off to make dinner now.

Later.......

BehrAnt your anniversary sounds so beautiful - so personal and special to the two of you. Sniffles at the bleeding heart planted where your kitties lie. LOL, I'd be the person at the pub ordering soda too. I would love to go out and see the Pacific Northwest some day - I think I would really like that country. Actually think I'd like to retire out there, but I don't think I can drag Mr ML that far.

OH, 'Moonlight' finale was so good - especially the ending! Unexpected and very beautiful. If the show had to end there - it ended on a very good note!

I feel a lot better - I was afraid it would be an awful ending (like Blood Ties) with everybody really unhappy. sigh. But it was nice.

Big news - Mr ML Jr went to an orthodontist appointment - and came home with BRACES on his teeth! I was surprised they would slap them on so fast like that. They are made of the white stuff, so they aren't too obvious - his one tooth was too crooked for the Invislign things. When he was 11 or 12, he banged his mouth on a kid's head playing basketball at Boy Scouts and banged in/killed one of his front teeth. They've been crooked ever since. My bad for not dragging him right off to get braces - but who could afford them back then? sigh. Anyway, I'm really proud of him and happy he's going to get some 'Hollywood teeth' - Pretty soon he'll be nearly as handsome as Jason.

If he really wanted to write - he'd be a writer. You can't stop a writer from writing. He's just daydreaming about being a writer - that's something different.

Oh that's awful that you actually knew a family with that honor killing stuff and wonderful that girl got away and got a new life. They had that on an episode of New Amsterdam - the father killed his daughter because she was going to marry this guy. Incomprehensible. I mean, in the old days, orthodox Jews might disown their kid for marrying a nonJew and they would be 'dead to them' - but they didn't actually KILL them! sigh. Sad story.

LOL about the Mr being tempted at Ikea. That's what happens when we go to Trader Joe's - we go for one thing, and end up spending $40 or $60 every time!

Hope everybody has a happy weekend! Rainy and cool here (again). MLette went off on a little trip with the BF. I miss her already!

I have like about 30 mins. to do this so let's see how this'll work out...

Hey all!

You guys would never believe what happened to me to day! Well you guys will probebly believe it but I don't! Someone asked me out. Like that out of the blue! I was at the gym doing my thing and the this guy who was actually pretty cute asked me out. I was never ever asked out b4 so it was totally new for me.... I said no because he wasn't religious and that would have been a problem but he was nice and we talked for a little while and I found out he's into communications (he's working at this pretty big news-paper) and he offered to give some sites I should check. I gave him my mail and phone anyhow and he already sent me a mail with the list of the sites.
Anyway b4 he left he told me I was beautiful which again no one ever told me b4 (well out of the family). And I was thinking how adorable he was.... and then kinda kicking my self (mentaly ofcours) for turning him down I'm religious but I'm not that religious.... anyhow it was something I had to share because really this never happened to me b4.... I'm still shocked that it did!

Anyway.... only 20 min left so SO's

ML, that's great that Moonlight had a nice ending to it in the end. It would be sucked if it didn't. I used to see this should and it ended with a cliffhanger and it never came back on. I wasn't a fan of the show but it still buged me.... glad that's not the case with Moonlight! And maybe that CBS thing will work out and they'll take it back!

Thanks for saying that. I usually to over-think things and I'm glad I didn't too over-think it this time.

I think You're gonna scar Mr ML Jr. if you kid on mentioning me like that... Is that the 'I Love Torturing My Kids' Jewish thing? My mom def does it sometimes.... of cours you're probebly unaware of that... my mom sure isn't...

That's too bad that he has to start all over again at that new company (if the take him and I hope they will). That's tough but I guess it's better then nothing and if he'll do a good job he'll be back up in no time.

About Mr ML Jr. showing back at home with those braces! That must have been surprising.

Tiger' you've been stopping by more often lately... too much time on your hands? Kidding! You know we love you!

I'm doing fine... just trying to find a job... after a while of not looking because my mom had a surgery and she is just fine now so it's back to work... or actually searching.

BA, yea things just fly by around here. Sometimes I get up in the morning and see that almost a full page has gone by. But it's always great catching up.... it just takes a while....

Your anniversary sounded amazing! That picnic and then the shopping. Romantic and fun.

That is just so sad about your friend. It's really unconceivable when you hear stuff like that. And when it's so close it even more that! I'm sure glad she's ok now.... too bad about her sister though. I hope she ok too.

That's it! I'm done... and with a little time to spare! I still have to go and get ready.... French class is waiting.

all

MODERATOR, I was trying to edit my last message to add the following shout-out to Vero, but the edit disappeared and I ended up with a new message. Sorry. I can't figure out how to delete this message.

Vero Wow about the guy asking you out! That's fantastic. I think you should give him a chance, email or talk a little bit -- he might be more religious than he thinks!

Hi Everyone!

I'm MELTING! The temps here have been reaching over a 100* for days and my air conditioner went out! And the air conditioner peeps can't come out until Tuesday!

We're all sweltering here! Argh!

No.2 son went out and bought a small wall model air conditioner for our kitchen/family room and if we keep the kitchen door shut, we get some cool air in there, but unless you stand right in front of the thing, it's still kind of warm after a while... but still 30* cooler than outside, so that's something!

Out of desperation, I went over to MOTHER's yesterday because her air conditioner will freeze ice! Spent the whole day in blissful coolness!

Vero, That was nice to be called beautiful! (But we always KNEW that you were!) But it's nice to be told! Hey, if he asks you out again, maybe you might say yes this time, and who knows... could be fun to go out with him?

And he might even have the right connections for your career too! That would be Great! (Keeping fingers crossed and good thought vibes going your way!)

BehrlyAnt, Your Anniversary sounded so nice!!! So romantic!!! (Well, except for the IKEA part.) LOL! I'm so glad you had such a lovely Anniversary! And got to go Furniture shopping too! What fun!!!

And thanks for the Healing Hands! I'll take all the help I can get!
And sending right back at you for your pain too.

MyrnaLynne, I'm glad they ended Moonlight in a good way. So much easier on the fans that way.

And that's something how Mr. ML Jr. came home with Braces so unexpectedly like that! Good for him!

Oh and I just love Trader Joes too. Just went there the other day and it's true! I spent $40 bucks just like that! I even LOVE the aroma of that place! It hooks me every time! LOL!

Jody! It's ALWAYS GOOD to see you!

And thanks for the info on Moonlight!

Thinking of you Poddy, and the GRADUATION GIRL! I hope the Graduation was Beautiful! Congratulations Emily!

BB!

I'm off to try to stay cool...

Hugs to All,
Wen

Poor Wen - 100 degrees and no AC! That was nice of your son to put in a little AC (little better than nothing) and that you can take refused at Mother's 'icebox.'

Veronic this guy sounds like he was sent from heaven! He thinks you are beautiful, he's interested in the same field as you, sounds like you two can talk easily - I wouldn't count him out just because he's not as religious - people can change! Hey, Mr ML changed from Catholic to Jewish (after awhile)! LOL! And I never would have expected that to happen. Anyway, very exciting the guys are noticing you! See, going to the gym must be having a good effect!

Oh, poor Mr ML Jr, not only did he get braces Friday, but he got a tetanus shot at the doctor too. I warned him that your arm will feel like a horse kicked you, but of course he thought I was exaggerating - so now of course his arm is aching, and from the braces, his mouth is aching too! Feel bad for him. And of course eating is problematic with braces, he can't eat this and that and his mouth is sore - no corn on the cob for him this summer! He is so skinny already, I hope he won't start eating less or he will disappear! But it will be great if he gets nice straight 'Hollywood' teeth. I think his crooked teeth make him more shy and selfconscious.

Oh I don't usually tease him about girls and dates and stuff - just once in awhile it's fun. LOL! He's so serious and quiet.

We went to the zoo yesterday - it's finally nice weather here and people are outside like crazy doing anything they can think of! LOL! I was afraid it would be too much walking for my bum knee and achey legs and it was a bit much. Plus this is a small woodsy zoo in the suburbs, and they don't have many animals - kind of a disappointment. They had a lot more stuff there when the kids were small, but of course the animals were way more miserable and neurotic then too. sigh. I did see some very cool stuff - up close pair of mountain lions (one was napping). They have these huge padded feet - it's no wonder they can sneak up on you so quietly! And a pair of coyotes, they were very interesting. And a yak and a zebu (kind of cow with a hump). I guess it wasn't that bad, but man, I was exhausted. Went right home, put my feet up and slept for hours afterwards!

More fresh air, sunshine, and exercise than I've had all winter! Oh, and they had a bald eagle (had a bad wing, so okay in captivity) - what a BIG and impressive looking bird! Ok, now that I think about it, the zoo was pretty darn cool. At the time it felt like a lot of walking around paths that were dead ends and not that much to look at. The habitats were pretty nice too, for the animals. Zoos are basically kind of sad and evil though, locking animals up so people can gawk at them. So eighteenth century!

BBW that's exactly it - we watch those 'guy' shows because of the GUYS on those shows! LOL! That and the shows themselves are very cool. To each his/her own, I say! I was so annoyed Entertainment Weekly was almost entirely about Sex and the City - a show I've never watched once, so of course I'm not all thrilled about the movie coming out - why would I go see it? Although I just read in the Sunday paper about Kim Cattrall - she's 50-something, divorced and dating a guy 28! Woo! you go girl!

Hope everybody is having terrific weekends - it is absolutely gorgeously beautiful here! Everything is so GREEN! Days are getting longer... Summer is almost here!

Hey all!

Well the shock wore-off.... a little. He did call me again last night and we talked of a little while which was nice. He's kinda cute... but I am worried that he won't want to be just fiends and the line over here is very important for me. He did tell me that he's interested in more then friendship with me and I told him right of that we'll just stop everything right there and then.... I guess he'll think about it because if there's one thing I don't want to do is lead him on. I'd love to have a new friend but more then that on this situation is just not what I want.

Anyway as you can tell that is the most interesting thing going on in my life right now. Mom's still at home... which is kinda hurting my job search... we don't have fax but she has one at work... so I really can't wait for her to get back on things (she probeblly will next week so that's good).

BBW, yep totally cool! And it totally boost up me self-esteem which is great!
As I've said I'd probebly still talk to him.... but it's the leading him on that's the problem for me. That is something that I just never ever want to do.... well at least I'm up-front with him... which for now is the only thing I can do.
And he isn't religious. I know that for a fact. As soon as I've said that I am religious. There's not too much doubt about that.

Wen, about the heat... and of cours the air-conditioning will get broken the moment it's needed the most.... Merphy hit again. I hope it'll turn a bit cooler soon... or at least that the air-conditioner will get fixed up soon.

At least your mom's worked.... I can see the dilema you probebly had b4 going.... But then maybe the heat had some influence on her and she was relaxed and calm... maybe....

Well no connections there.... but there's def knowledge which at times can help too. I'm not to sure I'd follow all of the advice right now... I'm a little tired of that world of communications but at some point I'd like to try again... and then it'll be good to have that knowledge.

ML, you're right... but I don't think I'm the right person to get people closer to the religioun... I'm very light headed about things like that. I need someone who's pretty much in the same mind-frame as me when it comes to the religioun. I have a friend that I explain religious things to and I really don't need another one. Maybe I'd take a traditional guy.... but someone who pretty far from all of that is just not what I'm looking for (at that aspact anyhow).

I'm so sorry that Mr ML Jr. is going through all that pain.... but then if you want to look good... you better be ready to suffer. But why did he have to take the tetanus shot? I don't think I've ever got that one.... and now I really don't want too.

Happy to hear you had such a nice time at the zoo! I haven't been to one in years!

Have to agree with you! The guys in those 'guy shows' are a very big reson to why we watch those. But then with me if the story's not right I usually slip out of it at some point... I mean how long can a show count on those bulging muscles? Ok..... I admit! Long enough.

Yea I've never watched Sex and the City (and everyone I say that to looks at me like I've just landed from Mars) so I'm not to excited about the movie either.... but I guess a lot of people are, since a lot of people did watch that show...

That's that for now. My grandma's here and we (and by we I mean I) have to go and make lunch.... not that I mind.... that much.

VB this guy sounds so nice! It's too bad you don't want to get serious with him. I understand the not wanting to lead him on, though. I dated a guy after college who immediately decided I was the one for him and his future wife - but he wasn't the one for me at all!! It was very awkward, getting rid of him! I just think if everything else is perfect, maybe the level of religiosity could be negotiated. When a guy is in love, he is willing to do a lot of things for a person! Sorry, I am just such a matchmaker, it makes me happy to think you might have found a nice guy. But religion, and how religious/observant a person wants to be, is a big dividing thing. sigh.

And you do have your hands full with job hunting, caring for Mom, cooking for grandma, etc! I hope your Mother can get back to work so you can get faxes and it will help with the job hunting.

MLette and I had a wonderful shopping trip yesterday and I got a bunch of summer shirts, a pair of pants, some sandals - I went shopping crazy! LOL! I'm wearing a new outfit to work today and I feel like I look so good - although really, I look just like I always look. But new clothes do give your spirit a lift!

I watched the Country Music Awards because nothing was on last night, and I like country music (I like music in general). Not a fan of it or anything - I know some of the people, some of the songs, but I'm not really up on it, didn't know everybody. The songs are generally pretty nice, although I thought that one gal and guy who won a bunch of prizes (blanking on their name of course) was pretty weird - they reminded me of Sonny & Cher, which isn't exactly country! The country music people seem like nice people - not too many 'gangasta' country singers! It was a bit overly flashy, I thouht, like the Grammy's were this year, but that was probably because they did it in Vegas! LOL!

I think you are supposed to get a tetanus shot every 10 years or so, something like that, so you don't get a bad infection if you step on a rusty nail or things like that. It does make your shoulder very sore but it's worth it not to get sick and get 'lockjaw'! I got one a few years ago, which is why I remembered about the sore arm.

The colleges are all having their graduations now - and we have colleges all around us! It's nice when all the students leave for the summer and the cities are less crowded! I think something like 100,000 people come for college and go away in the summer!

JOFs!

I had a wonderful time visiting my sister, it was a perfect trip. We always have fun together, and we love to do the same things and we both love to talk! Got home late Saturday night so I had Sunday to recuperate and get most of the laundry done. So it was nice!

VB - too bad the guy who asked you out wasn't the one for you, but how nice that he thinks you're beautiful! What a morale booster that was! Hopefully when he realizes that you want nothing more than friendship he'll respect that and be a good friend to you. We can always use one more friend! My husband is much more religious than I am, but we make it work. I have my faith, but I don't attend Mass, but my hubby goes to Mass every Sunday, rain or shine.

Sorry the job didn't work out, but I agree that 1.5 hours to get to work and two buses is unrealistic. You'll find something, there's a perfect job out there waiting for you!

ML - I missed Friday's Moonlight, but it's so wonderful to know that you found the finale satisfying. I hope it dvr'd correctly!

Too funny - I love the guys on the guy shows too! Gotta love a great looking guy at any age!

BA - wonderful anniversary you had!

Gotta scoot, things to get done, bbl if I can!

I had a wonderful day so far!

Mom had to got and take a blood test (not me so that's one great thing) and later we went to buy some new swimsuits!
I lost a lot of whight lately (come's to gether to about 13kg which are about 28 lbs, and yep I'm totally proud of that!) so I just had to get a new one. And mom wanted on too so we went together. I got along just fine and found something great (that surpisingly mom liked too) and now I really can't wait to get to a beach or a pool! Later we just went and had lunch. It was nice.

ML, I just expect to do some stuff with my b/f and some of them I totally religious and I'm not into turning people over (to any side) so it just doesn't fit. To me. I'm not sure what is it exactly about men that I'm looking for but I know he has to be with me on the religioun thing (and at the same level).

Happy to hear you've had a wonderful shopping trip with MLette! That's always fun and I have to agree! New cloths always make me feel better too!

I like country music too... which is kinda surprising since we don't really hear country music over here. I would say I know a lot of Country songs but the some that I do know I totally like.

Well I don't remember getting a tetanus shot.... I'll have to ask my mom about that. My dad fell at the street a while ago so the too him to a hospital and he got one there.... but other then that I don't think I've ever heard of anyone getting one.... something to ask mom about.

Scottie, great to hear you had a great time at your sister's. That's so wonderful you guys have so much in common. Me and my sister are like that (after she'd reached her teen's... which is kinda funny I know... but that's the way it went with us.

Well think of a Catholic girl getting with someone who he's last Catholic expirience was when he was in kindergarden or something like that. And she wan't to stay Catholic and educate her kids the same way.... sounds a little weird don't you think? So with Jewdism it's more comlicated because there's so much more to do.... I know I'm not like those Orthodox jewish people you guys might see in Brookline and places like that.... but I am religious and it def means a lot to me.

Anyway... enough with that! Thanks for encoוraging me. I def hope I'll find something... right now I'm trying to look for whatever... but I do want it to be relatively close.... I hope.

all
